Would it be possible for you to make a generic one, like with no muni branding?
djantir  [author] 13 Feb, 2023 @ 9:30pm
Thanks so much, @Kandi_Kid_96! Warms the heart, it does!
Kandi_Kid_96 12 Feb, 2023 @ 9:46pm
As a native San Franciscan, absolutely delightful and brings a joy in my heart to see the new streetcars zipping about my city. Nothing but respect and tip of the hat to you @djantir!

@slobeck Thank you for the compliments, and thank you for the history on the Breda! You're making me want to go back to the Bay Area for another visit...which is kind of overdue for me!

So, um yeah. Nailed it.
I live in the Mission right now, and yeah you nailed BOTH styles like a boss.
So fun fact about the older Bredas: originally, the Breda cars were longer than the classic old (and rather retro-awesome) light-rail trains from the 80's and 90's and sported less seats, but more room to stand, better wheelchair access, digital led message boards and stuff. The thing was, the wheel length of the Bredas was much longer than the old ones and I guess someone forgot to measure something before they made the cars and just figured: standard gauge track, it'll work, right? I'll bet you're shocked to learn that they simply wouldn't go around certain curved sections of track in San Francisco (specifically the J Church at the top of the hill by Dolores Park where it goes into that S-curve)

@tornadocrow Aw, thank you so much for that comment! And good timing, as I've not really been on Steam for a few months. Been busy elsewhere. I'm trying to push myself to learn Blender at some point, so I can resume my modeling. (I used 3ds Max for the older ones, but lost access to the program.) I've heavily considered both the NJT Light Rail and the River Line (Camden-Trenton). Something about the boxy look just intrigues me. Haha.

It seems it's been a while since anybody has commented, but I just wanted to say I enjoy using these assets in my city. If you ever plan on making more, the Newark Light Rail or the SD-160 as used in several cities would be wonderful. Regardless, best wishes

I've been trying so hard to get my computer to cooperate with me for the past two hours just to do these simple updates for this asset. As easy as these should be to get done, I might have to postpone it for whenever I'm ready. The game's asset editor is incredibly unfriendly, and I'm on limited time nearly every day.
djantir  [author] 11 Jun, 2020 @ 10:23pm
@Squintz_2c That shouldn't be too hard, I don't think. I'll put aside the time to include it. And when I do, it'll be included to this same asset entry instead of uploading it separately. Hopefully other subscribers will be alright with that.
Squintz_2c 11 Jun, 2020 @ 5:54pm
@djantir would you consider doing a six car version?
djantir  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 10:50am
@Haram Bae, I'll have to see whenever I can get to it. I tried a prop version of one of my earlier vehicle models, but it didn't workout the way I expected. I don't know the illumination rules for props, because it just stayed fully illuminated regardless of being nowhere near a light source at night.
Haram Bae 26 Jul, 2019 @ 8:08pm
Prop version? I kind of want to waste like an hour building a decorated depot with these.
Souvlaki 27 May, 2019 @ 11:33am
Ok. I'll see what I can do in regards to the custom vehicle effects. I've actually got some MUNI sound files that have station announcements, etc.. Any luck creating a train version?
djantir  [author] 27 May, 2019 @ 10:47am
Heh, I also haven't really figured out custom vehicle effects either. Trust me. I want so much of these vehicles, if anything, just to change the sound of my trams...because I dislike the vanilla tram sound.
Souvlaki 21 May, 2019 @ 2:28am
Also, I don't know how feasible it would be, but would it be possible to add red tail lights using Vehicle Effects 1.8.1? I was going to make a pass myself and see if I could come up with a config, but it might be easier for you.
Souvlaki 21 May, 2019 @ 1:08am
Can't wait. Thanks!
djantir  [author] 21 May, 2019 @ 12:28am
@Souvlaki Oh yeah? Guess I'll make a train version soon, then.
Souvlaki 20 May, 2019 @ 10:38pm
Awesome. Well if you can turn it into a normal train asset, then the train converter mod will turn it into a MOM asset automagically.
djantir  [author] 20 May, 2019 @ 8:26am
@Souvlaki I'd love to do that, though I still don't exactly know how to change it into a MOM-compatible asset. There are a couple of these I would do that for.
Souvlaki 18 May, 2019 @ 3:49am
This is an awesome asset, but would it be possible to get a MOM version with the pantograph down? I'd love to use it as my main metro train.
djantir  [author] 21 Apr, 2019 @ 11:27am
@DNP_10 Aww, thank you! That's a huge compliment, and I appreciate that!
DNP_10 20 Apr, 2019 @ 9:02pm
I’ve been been looking for the best LRV’s for over a year. Finally someone creates the perfect LRVs! Muni really has the best looking trains
djantir  [author] 3 Feb, 2019 @ 12:02am
@crashtest1 Haha, well, luckily there ARE mods for that, kinda. And yeah, I was only in SF for 5 days, and I'd definitely experienced the lateness that is MUNI. My one time depending on BART was exactly what I needed, however (on my way back to the airport to end my vacation).
crashtest1 2 Feb, 2019 @ 9:25pm
Ooo now with Muni, BART, and Caltrain in the workshop, the only thing I need for realistic re-creation of SF transit is a mod that makes these trains only show up half the time (and a sound pack of BART screeches).
djantir  [author] 1 Feb, 2019 @ 8:08pm
@landandskygirl Actually, the one we were discussing I just made today, following this one. ;)
Amayasnep 1 Feb, 2019 @ 7:54pm
You finally did it! Great work! I’m glad you enjoyed your stay in SF.
icald 1 Feb, 2019 @ 1:52pm
omg yess:steamhappy:
djantir  [author] 1 Feb, 2019 @ 10:42am
@djnellz215913ko Aww, thank you! I'm super happy people seem to be enjoying it!
djnellz215913ko 1 Feb, 2019 @ 9:43am
@djantir beyond a good wow. This is excellent.
djantir  [author] 30 Jan, 2019 @ 12:33am
@djnellz215913ko A good, "wow," I hope!
djnellz215913ko 29 Jan, 2019 @ 3:05pm
wow.
[Delta ²k5] 29 Jan, 2019 @ 2:16am
Ah! From these shots it looks much better now! :) thanks!
djantir  [author] 29 Jan, 2019 @ 1:49am
@[Delta ²k5] Hopefully the changes I've made are satisfactory!
djantir  [author] 29 Jan, 2019 @ 12:22am
@[Delta ²k5] Thanks for the feedback!

Headlights: I should've looked at video refs, not just photos. I couldn't remember from my visit by memory, but photos online of the S200 make it look as though the lights which surround the luminator are also headlights. But that's probably just my misunderstanding of the photos.

Specular Map: I can tweak it a bit. I didn't realize how low the values were!

Window Color: When I first started working on this, I couldn't tell where my windows began and ended, so I needed contrasting colors. But now that everything's in place, I can tone that down so they're dark, and hopefully more transparent.
[Delta ²k5] 28 Jan, 2019 @ 11:42pm
Looking good so far and I would subscribe, but two things are disturbing me from doing so:

1st: the headlights - you set those light sources to the destination sign. As I checked some rl pictures I can say that there are no lights in this place ;) I think you did this on purpose, but for me it looks kinda off in that place

2nd: textures: It seems like there is no specular map? As some of your other tram/LR vehicles have got them I wonder why this one looks so matte, also the window color is entirely different from your other assets. I, by myself, prefer dark windows with a full reflective spec map

Other than this: good work! :)
