i recently went to use it and each time i placed or removed a block i would lag. its the only mod in the void world

3TW power output wile not necessary is nice for a planet power station. i made it for large projects so you dont have to keep building reactors.

pending if you wish to do some twinkering or not a other solution could be to create a unique type of fuel by combining 2-3 element into 1 as to reduce the pure uranium base need for it

exemple for 2 element: Uranium / Magnesium, Uranium / iron...
exemple for 3 element: Uranium / coblat / silver....

but making a fuel cell to compansated the high uranium consumtion could also make it more multiplayer friendly.

I think that a good effeciancy ratio (to make it viable for- well, Any survival server) would be the consumption of 5 uranium per second at full power

Absolutely no server will allow you to refine a Million uranium units that would make this thing currently viable. At best you might get 15-50K uranium after mining Several deposits in space (which are very hard to find)

This isn't a gas powered generator (or hydrogen), its a Fusion / Particle accelerator (seeming as though it uses enriched uranium) so it should be pretty effeciant.

@Stotin you are correct it was balanced around normal reactors. I have no idea if the normal reactors are correct in real world but its the numbers the game used so i did basic math. I to think it uses fuel to fast but at this point its not worth it for me to change the numbers as i dont know what would be good balance.

@Era, it is acutally balanced around normal reactors as to generate the same amount of power from vanilla nuclear reactors it would take 833 uranium per second. So it is actually a little bit better in efficiency.

Looking over a fact sheet on fission reactors... 27,000 kg of Uranium will power a 1GW facility for 1 year.... so this thing is using a bit too much Uranium frankly (edited for accuracy, had 2700 kg before)

You guys can modify the settings. I might modify it so it either runs on less fuel or just requires a power buffer to start it and once started it would be self sustaining. Might lower the power output though.

Yeah, this mod is great and all, but it's basically creative only. Sure, it's survival ready, but to run it at full power, you need to be processing 800+ uranium ingots PER SECOND. This requires 600k unmodded refineries working around the clock, and lets not even mention the amount of ore that needs to be fed into that mess.

Oh good. Not like I need airtightness when the absolute only place this is fitting is on a planet, and the only planet I like playing on is Earth. And besides it looks more like an outdoors thing for the a e s t h e t i c s of a base.

Where does this thing align conveyors to? The bottom has 9 squares surrounded by a bigger golden square, but they don't snap nor align to any conveyor.

@tugspacehall Don't let the trolls get you down dude. Personally, i like the idea of a particle accelerator producing energy, this really is a cool mod and i hope to see it further developed, i would agree that you should change the size to 51x51 or 49x49 though, would make it easier to align.

@war-angel Really dude, just really? you're gonna sit there and type up an argument only to embarrass yourself and drop the "UhMm AcTuAlLy" bomb on some one like that, It's called Sci-Fi dude, creativeness, something you probably don't have. Here's another fact, a particle accelerator actually does produce a degree of energy, we just don't know how to harness it. How do you think a Nuclear Bomb works. That collision forces the atoms to split and release energy in the form of heat. So if the whole point of a particle accelerator is to smash atoms together then yes it would produce some energy and you just contradicted yourself. SIT DOWN SON AND SHUT UP, Let the guy create.

actually yeah it does mean we can't there's no way to harness the radiation safely so that mean Humanity will most likely use a Dyson Sphere or a black hole to generate power be for they will ever look it a particle accelerator for power

A particle accelerator is a machine that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to very high speeds and energies, and to contain them in well-defined beams. Large accelerators are used for basic research in particle physics.

This is a great Mod! Is it possible to change the Block ID? So it would be compatible with the Antimatter Mod(pack). If the Antimatter Modpack priority is higher than this mod, that Particle Accelerator doesn't appears in the building menue. But if the priority of this mod is higher than the Antimatter Modpack, the Experimental Particle Accelerator for creating antimatter dissapears. This reactor (Particle Accelerator) would be great, to produce Engergy for the Antimatter-Particle Accelerator. (You could even use more Antimatter-Particle Accelerators for creating antimatter, than with the Modpack Experimental Unoctquadium reactor, what would cause a faster Antimatter generation.)

If it is still that difficult, is there no way to make it easier? Maybe a smaller version with 29x29 and 3 high? Because at the moment, if i can not deplay the mod on simply way its useless for me :( have no interest to try in hours to find maybe... the right position...

Agree to Vegas, size should be 49x49 or 51x51. prefer symmetrical builds too.... and this thing is so big, i have no clue where the conveyerconnector is...

PCUs are about server lag. One giant reactor is less stress on the server than 50 small ones, so no, the PCUs should not be higher.

Particle Accelerator has dimensions 50x50x5 blocks, PERSONALLY MY OPINION, the size should be 49x49x5 or 51x51x5. With an odd value, it is easier to determine the symmetry, the junction points of conveyors / pipes / containers / sorters and other things will not be shifted to the side and should have an aesthetic appearance, for example, when the ship is docked.

Perhaps it makes sense to make this mod modular, so that a large block would work when docking the composite small parts.
option:
1) 5 pieces - a circle in a circle
2) 4 pieces - sliced pizza into 4 pieces
3) 5 large round parts that are assembled from smaller ones. And each of these 5 large parts had its own purpose, for example, the first inner circle was only a storage for uranium ingots, the second circle in the collection would be a conveyor / connector with the third circle that would accumulate energy (battery), then another fourth circle as a conveyor / connector with the fifth last lap, which already began to process uranium ingots from the inner circle, and supply energy to the third circle (battery).

It would be very cool if each part of the Particle Accelerator can be built separately and used as a decor.

Particle Accelerator's physical structure is determined by its size, the character faces an invisible wall which is limited by the size of the whole block. Where there is no visible Particle Accelerator texture, there is an invisible obstacle.

when the block lies in round forms to the top, then the places where there are no circles but there is a square platform of this block, do not allow the character to stand on this square part, the character goes “by air” to the edge of the Particle Accelerator.
