Pros:
Obviously, removes story missions and progression isn't tied to it, planets are more random, monsters are more varied, and overall, pretty good changes.
Cons:
Perhaps the biggest problem for me is the combat overhaul mod, which for whatever reason is absolutely required for Sandbox to not crash. Said mod changes the core gameplay and ramps up the difficulty, so not newbie friendly. It's also weird how you need to go out of your way to find the easy patch.
Getting the Ship Repair Kit and FTL Repair Kit is not very obvious. Sure, it's in the handcrafting menu, but it could've been specified by SAIL.
The removal of story missions is also kind of a problem because of how you need to complete the Floran mission to unlock EASEL, and possibly other Outpost vendors. Also, no peacekeeper missions, which is a shame, those are kinda fun.
Other than that, the mod is alright. Still better than Frackin Universe lmao
That said, how can I access the arena that Nuru teleports you to in this? It's not story related. Also, is the bounty hunter poster disabled in this?
The biggest one right now is that there's some borked areas right in the center of the outpost when using Anom's outpost with this. (the other one being that I can't find lush planets, but I think I know why)
I don't know how to fix it without using the storymode.
I'll have to wait on the very SLIM possibility of a FU patch later down the line. The science tech, gameplay mechanics, and variety have all become an integral part of Starbound due to all the compatibility it is pre-loaded with. Not to mention, Vanilla starbound is just so freakin' dull.
I love the idea and the descriptions thus far. I just have to hold out hope on a pipe-dream of having this compatible with the largest mod that Starbound has, (that I know of.)
Perhaps I can still find a way to at least play without the matter manipulator, or at least build up to it. It'd feel a lot more rewarding to have to forge the technology and such and utilize rudimentary axes and such for harvesting until that point.
Sure wouldn't mind a way to launch granny into the nearest star.
i defied the rules and played with frackin' universe since i hate playing non frackin' starbound
so yeah, good mod
