You're welcome, now I can go rest my brain!!!

@Falso thank you!
Fatso 26 Apr, 2019 @ 10:13pm
This was a great puzzle had me thinking and trying all kinds of different cube placements. After spending much time think how to solve this, it finally came to me. Thumbs up!!! My solution CLICK HERE.

i recently played(took me a long time) narkodes map so it was fairly fresh in my mind. nice remake. sstill took a sec to remember the important moves
azertyuiop 14 Feb, 2019 @ 4:44am
Very nice, thumbs up!
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:58am
Hm ok. Personally I don't see a way to swap the laser cubes. That's why I asked :p
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:57am
Nah it doesn't really lead anywhere.
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:54am
Hmmmm. Please record a video :D I'm wondering
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:54am
Allright maybe not the full swap. I just managed to swap reflector cubes and assumed it's possible.
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:50am
I don'T know how I should do it.
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:49am
It just is. You can try it in this version as well.
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:47am
how would it be possible via exit room portal?
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:42am
Whoa, laser glitch. That would be the 4-th solution then (I thought you just used a portal in the exit room).
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 3:40am
Update 9: back to normal, antipolux stays (because goo doesn't help at ALL).
Allright I reproduced your swap via the main hall, that would be a third solution. Let's just consider this is a map with 3 intended solutions, find all 3 and you beat the map. BEEmod stuff is absolutely out of question, that wouldn't be a Classic version then. Cube placeholders stay because aiming without them makes an absolutelly horrendous experience, at least for me.
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 2:39am
Of course. I can drecord a video.
Joric  [author] 13 Feb, 2019 @ 2:37am
> still possible to swap the cube via main hall
really?
Narkodes 13 Feb, 2019 @ 2:33am
I don't like the changes. Now there are 6 buttons in the map, two additional lasers and an additional laser relay (confusing signature included) - with the result that it is still possible to swap the cube via main hall :D And because of the button in the middle room, the laser for the third cube has a suboptimal direction now (otherwise the button would block it). The laser angle and cube positioning feels a bit sharp/unnatural. What bullfrog meant (I guess): the cube button in the middle room makes it very obvious where you have to place the laser cube in order to reach the third-cube-area. No thinking needed :(

How about deleting the (not-working) OR-gate and implementing a... green fizzler instead? :p
bullfrog 12 Feb, 2019 @ 11:12pm
OK, thanks. Yep, I suppose I put that badly; what I meant was, IF your original design didn't have an unintended solution, the solution you wanted was less obvious... but I'm not sure if that's any clearer either :P
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:40pm
@bullfrog you could swap weighted cube for the second reflection cube without closing the portal but it's essentially the same, at least you can't swap them through the main hall. I don't get how I made it easier eliminating an unintended solution.
bullfrog 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:13pm
...hopefully this is your intended solution ? I like the ”antipolux measures”, but see why you didn’t want to do that or the OR gate. Assuming I’ve got your intended solution; the solution to this version, 8, is more obvious than the original, so 4/10 is probably about right. It’s still an excellent puzzle and is still added to my favourites, but it’s a shame the first version - which I’d put at 5/10 or even 6/10 difficulty - was breakable. Anyway; I’ve definitely spent long enough playing the various versions of this puzzle; it’s been fun, but time to move on. Cheers
bullfrog 12 Feb, 2019 @ 11:50am
:) i'll look at latest version and try again in morning
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:42am
@bullfrog yeah, your second video https://youtu.be/dWcDEeJv0VM and the swap is about right. OR gate looks ugly as hell but I couldn't think of a better way. I could hide it but it would be wrong.
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:37am
@bullfrog version 6 is obsolete, version 7 has an OR gate now to force intended solution.
bullfrog 12 Feb, 2019 @ 10:31am
Is this your intended way in version 6: first part second part[/url] ? I’ll look at latest in morning ;)
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 9:59am
Update 8: fixed antline, moved exit button.
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 9:41am
Update 7: forced intended solution, antipolux measures.
Joric  [author] 12 Feb, 2019 @ 9:15am
@Polux Well, shit. But it doesn't mean ANYBODY can do it.
Nobody No-One 11 Feb, 2019 @ 10:04pm
@Joric there's a very easy way to play co-op maps solo in split screen mode. It's a lot of fun in my opinion and it gives you access to some really good maps like the window walker series. But if you don't want to, that's fine.
Narkodes 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:48pm
Ah, I forgot about that. Sad! I prefer coop maps in general, often they contain a lot more logical steps and feature new "mechanics". To use 4 instead of 2 portals makes an huge difference.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:44pm
@Narkodes they're coop maps :( I don't want play coop. If only there were singleplayer ones.
Narkodes 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:41pm
Try my window walker series ;) The first map had (in the first version) those weird floor obervation rooms. That was the concept idea: player-exclusive window buttons. When I updated the map (with newer beemod), the observation rooms changed to... observation rooms, but without that absurd rotation.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 9:32pm
Tried to force the proper swap using an extra button to disable the fizzler but couldn't pass the map with it, so the map stays as is. :) Added a link to the observation room glitch screenshot for the history https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1652520706
Nobody No-One 11 Feb, 2019 @ 1:44pm
Yeah, the first version usually is the best before all sorts of grating, extra fizzlers, etc. are added. It's unfortunate that that happens, but it's really rare for a map to be perfect on the first attempt. :(
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 8:06am
@Narkodes, ok, back to normal. First version is always the prettiest, no exceptions. I added a bigger glasss wall and made the exit room a bit roomier. I don't want to use 3 buttons out ouf the respect to the original and also because it would be super ugly. I'm willing to take the risk of climbing with 2 cubes, because goo makes it borderline impossible to climb without losing the cubes.
Narkodes 11 Feb, 2019 @ 7:34am
nah, I won't. Climbing with 2 cubes is possible, did it sometimes, but I'm so incredibly bad at it.. The most people can't do this, but I'm a perfectionist sometimes :p Another way would be to add 2 buttons in the exit room instead and then connect all 3 buttons with the door. It's something I wouldn't do, but it's possible and avoids the glass-goo-stuff. It also makes the map a bit more ugly (I hate it when a room contains too many buttons) and obvious what's to do.

Since you refuse to work with beemod, I don't have an idea how to force the intended swapping.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 7:27am
Update 5, ok let's stop fooling around, be professional. Strip placeholders make it a bit lighter.
@Narkodes, could you upload a video of climbing? I can't for the love of god do it with 2 cubes.
Narkodes 11 Feb, 2019 @ 7:12am
In order to prevent the possibilty of abusing a stockpile of 2 cubes, you still have to add water. It has to be impossible that 2 cubes can get in contact with a wall near the glass. This would work for example: https://www93.zippyshare.com/v/bLF6Pwti/file.html

The picture also contains the way Atom marks "cube places", so maybe take this if you're not a fan of the grating-goo-combo. Or delete them completely. The window on the floor doesn't fit with the rest. I think the map is now waaay to dark. Liked the first version a lot more. I also suggest to enlarge the tiny room a lil bit. The glass near the cube dropper (3) is a fine addition, very good! :>

Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 6:21am
Update 4, occasionally placed an observation room on the floor and decided to upload it just for fun. I am a silly silly fun boy (c) Pete Holmes. I'll fix it later, probably.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 2:42am
Update 3, cosmetic changes: default PTI thumbnail, exit room fizzler pushed towards the corridor.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 2:06am
Update 2, cosmetic changes: fizzlers moved a bit away to prevent cube throwing, fixed crossed antlines, exit room made smaller, stone block on the exit replaced with a glass panel, removed the second window in the laser room.
bullfrog 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:55am
Ah, understood.
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:49am
@bullfrog, I mean you're not supposed to carry cubes out of the laser room through the fizzler area, there's a way to swap all three cubes using just the portal on the wall.
bullfrog 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:35am
Not sure I understand what you mean. Any-road-up; it's an excellent puzzle; thumbs up and added to favourites :)
Joric  [author] 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:24am
@bullfrog the intended way is perhaps is use portals for cube swapping but I probably can't force that without using those ugly green fizzlers from BEEmod. Isn't it a great puzzle though?
bullfrog 11 Feb, 2019 @ 12:19am
Correct, not throwing. This is the way I did it: intended solution ? I haven't done @Narkodes original; I found this version pretty difficult, I'd say 5/10 or even 6/10 as the shot at 3:50 in my video took me ages to think of, for some reason.
Joric  [author] 10 Feb, 2019 @ 11:53pm
@Narkodes I really doubt that, few people can throw. Also climbing the 1 unit wall with just two cubes, can you capture that? Do I really need a pit of acid there? It'd drive me crazy to redo the whole thing if cubes fall there.
Narkodes 10 Feb, 2019 @ 11:41pm
@bullfrog: with throwing the cube through the fizzler?
