I can attempt to do that at somepoint. I was thinkin for Roleplay porpuses. At the least give them the trait but not the portrait
I think what happens is the game gets confused when loading this mod in a savefile that was not made/created/started without this patch-mod, resulting in the said bugs. Other mods I have don't edit/alter civics/new species and the like, so i'm thinking it's just a wierd bug with how the game handles old saves with this mod newly installed.
All I can say is to avoid it is to always make a new save with this patch-mod, loading old saves seems to screw with it for some reason, at least on my end.
With the portrait and trait thing, I meant it as in a type of alternative so your species original portraits don't disappear.
Why remove the portrait+trait from a psionic empire?
Note: these Portraits don't even follow the colour matchings and just randomises them, but i'm still somewhat sure this patch-mod is causing it as it's the only patch-mod for PSE-Reborn Beta I have that edits portraits/potential changes to civics/ethics in any way.
Btw, any plan to do a very minor/tiny addon to potentially remove the Psionic Entity portrait+trait from Psionic Expanded + PE-Reborn Beta?
Sidenote, as a psiocracy at start you are able to pick and choose from any of the civics that require psiocracy.
These civics where designed with the thought that you would only ever get the 3 the game gives you and when making this mod I fallowed suit in my hybrid designs. This will be over powered especially if you have a mod that gives more civic points. Have fun
Psionic Re-Expanded:Reborn [Beta] is a more "updated" version of PRE but I dont know anything in PRE that would be broken lately anyway outside of the game just saying its outdated. If there is something its unlikely to be anything major.
I'll probably have to make a patch for that to unless the ECA author has changed the ethic names in the code
If you mean Ethics and Civics Alternative Then it should already work unless the mod author changed the code name of the few it adds from the original
Ive been working on a separate related mod and I get the civics as I should with it.
So with this once you Research Expanded Psionic Theory it doenst give you any ethics but if you are not using this then when you Research EPT it gives you the choice for ethics?
And just to clarify you are not using any of the fallowing in the match in question correct?

Get Psi Government, need to reform to get some of your civics back.
No Psi Government, No need to reform.
And there's a Civic i have that gives me the Psi government, and people without the need to reform again. I'm assuming that's a part of the original mod?
Then you just fallow the steps there to create it. When you want to add a mod you find you click the "Add to collection" button a lil above the subscribe button and select the collection you want to add it to

Not bothering to reform is ok but when you have a ton of civics to choose from there is no reason not to give yourself a little extra boost in some way shape or form.
Its just with Psi when you get the swap government event it replaces any and all civics that you have with the 3 of its own.
Which means you have to reform your government again but some civics you where using will likely be incompatible, some cannot be added after game start and since the 3 added each take up 3 civic slots then you have to go w/o 3 you would have preferred to use before is all.
And, if you can help me on this, i want to make a "modpack" just to store all the mods im using into one "pack" of sorts, so i don't have to open the game to see them all.
Although it seems you can re-add your original civics afterwords but it just doesnt fit thematically with me. Will see what happens.
Making a tech isnt a challenge. Ive made dozens of techs before lol
Is there a specific tech thing you had in mind that you wanted to see?
Cause if its a tech to fix your crash issues thats out of my hands
And i'd personally like to challenge you (more like request, but, y'know?) to make one tech that wasn't in the original mod. :)
I need to do another pass on them. I considered tweaking some psi-re-expanded values but I dont really want to make to many changes to the base mods.
Like I considered tweaking the base values to maybe be double what they are and then have the hybrids be the normal base value but some of those base values are already pretty high for what they do. And some of them are really to low to just half the hybrids as they are.
But since I do not really want to change the base values im just going to make them have their own stat bonuses.
I might look into doing some more with it later. One thing ive considered is adding in more civics so you are not just stuck with 3 civics but that would come after the hybrid pass since it would require much more effort.
Another thing I just looked into is giving ships different colors but I do not know how to change the shader colors lol

If you mean the challenge of making this mod then its not quite beat just yet. 70-90% or so is complete but thank you
