I know it's not how it was intended but duelist is absolutely broken with a two-hander. With Lothar's hammer and the buffs duelist gets I'm rocking 70% crit chance, in the nameless isle right now and with fleche I'm critting for 1000+ dmg. It's been a hell of a ride, too bad I didn't set the difficulty higher at the start, stuck on standard diff and things are getting too easier now!

ring location : If you're standing where Atusa/Dallas are first seen, walk along the wall of Fort Joy towards the right of the main entrance. It is against the end of the wall in the water

I have a minor porblem here.
I was playing with a friend see, and I cant seem to learn the Dueslist Stance skill?
It says I already have it learned, but its nowhere in my skills.

@Space Cowgirl Supreme: Try gaining a level and checking again? If not, did you find the cheat chest on board the ship after you leave Fort Joy? There's also one by the shrine on the beach where you start the game. If you still aren't finding it, I'm not sure what that could be caused by, since there's no reason you should be getting some, but not all the spells.

I've found the ring before, years ago, but I'm trying the game again recently and I can't find it anywhere, having thoroughly searched the base of the tower all the way from the ladder down to the water.

@NotSoNinjaJoe - it appears to be the ring at the foot of the tower, just outside the walls called Band of Honour - but I'm not able to return it to the duelist even though I have it in my inventory (or equipped, I tried both).

Who knows where the duelist's ring is? The one in Fort Joy? Can never find it and usually just give up on finding it for whatever run I'm on.

For some reason (probably the skills chest on the Lady Vengance) this mod causes Corbin Day to vanish from the lady vengance during chapter transitions. Does anyone know of a fix anywhere?

The mod is great, the skills are all nice and useful when incorporated even into hybrid builds. Something I just want to suggest is giving the Band of Honor a drawback, like the Duelist Stance. It's insanely OP since anyone can pick it up and use it for the AP boosts regardless of class/build. Which is Ironic on how the ring is symbolic of your dedication to the Duelist life.

If the mod is no longer supported, can someone else let me know how to edit this so I can try making a patch myself?

Hey great mod! Thank you so much for making it. You definitely filled a specific niche of class that was missing from this game.

I don't know if you are still reading comments or even working on the mod anymore, but I wanted to report an odd bug. When using Beast, the unique stance does not seem to work and he instead assumes the default dagger stance. I double-checked by not only equipping the weapon to several different characters, but also buying another weapon classified as a finesse weapon to see if the stance would change. Everyone assumed the proper duelist stance except for Beast.

I want to clarify that this isn't the ability but merely the unique stance you made for characters holding a finesse weapon and nothing in the off-hand.

@FinalGeo it's not a conflict, when you have too many icons on the taskbar (or even in the backpack) from too many different "atlases" the game will stop rendering some from one of the atlases making all icons in that atlas also disappear. Typically you can fix that by just moving some skills to the next hotbar. This will only really happen if you use a lot of modded classes because they borrow icons from different atlases sometimes hence the issue. If you use Odin Helenae or Feenix you'll notice they have libraries. This keeps their modded skills from creating that same issue

Looks like a great mod, tried to play around with it, however when equipping a skill from the class it makes all my other skills dissapear. Its probably a conflict on my side however I thought id let you know.

There exists a finesse scaling mod for swords, which would fit a duelist quite well if u ask me, haven't tried it out yet though

@shivLasers - Damage scaling is based on your weapon type, so if you want to use finesse, you need to use a finesse weapon. This is the reason I recommend Lars' Rapier mod to go along with this mod as it gives you rapiers that are functionally daggers, but have the appearance of swords.

@sh1v - The armor used in the screenshots is the Red Prince's origin armor, acquired through Rendal's NPC Armors and Weapons, and dyed blue through the use of the dye addon for that mod. It's important to note that the armor only looks like this on Lizard Characters.

@ScrZombie - The rapiers are not included in this mod. To get rapiers into your game, I recommend searching the workshop for a mod that implements rapiers in a way you like. I personally use the finesse version of Lars' mod.

i wanna ask about the rapier? i swore i found one but cant seem to find another now on a new play through. was i mistaken or can i actually find Rapiers? and if so then where? vendors doesnt seem to have it.

@MashmalloMan - Totally fair assessment, I knew what I was doing when I made these skills overpowered. They are meant to be used with 1-handed weapons exclusively, but since I haven't implemented any way to enforce that, it's up to the player to do so themselves. It's a question of honor ;)

I'm sorry you can't enjoy the mod the way it is, but thank you for the feedback.

Was excited to use this mod till I found it to be way too OP in comparison to base game skills or the Odin class mods, which are balanced really well. I'm assuming this is because your meant to use the skills with a 1 handed weapon, but that's what the buff should be for which I'd argue could be scaled even higher.

Trying to use the skills with a 2H or DW will result in them being way too strong for what they're capable of.

It seems like the damage on every skill could be lowered by at least -20-30%. A lot of the skills have equal or even more damage as their counterpart from warfare, but do extra effects.

Shame because it's really well made, but I like mixing and matching my skills. I don't want to feel punished for using other abilities.

For what it's worth I found a separate mod that addresses most of my suggestions while fixing the missing stance skill (Duelist Weapons, the mod that comes with a ring that modifies your weapon). I also did work things out and respeced to STR (while still keeping FIN armor through other mods).

My only question is now if there's a way to safely update a mod mid-playthrough. I got your mod through nexus rather than workshop, so nimble footwork is outdated (100% eva and 20% move spd)

For some unknown reason, the .pack file was not created in the mods folder in my documents. I had to download it from the Nexus . Now it work, thx.

To everyone else who's commented, I'm sorry I haven't been able to address your questions/suggestions, I'm just a busy guy, and this really is just a personal passion project that I feel has reached the point where I can no longer justify the time spent on working on it. Thanks for all your comments and I hope you continue to enjoy the mod as it is. I will of course post a comment/update if I get around to making some changes/bugfixes, especially in regards to things like duelist stance not working properly.

You're correct in assuming I don't have much time these days to play, let alone mod, so I'm sorry to say that it's very unlikely any more work will get done on this, but I'm keeping a list of changes to look at if I ever find the time, and your suggestions are now on it. Thank you so much for enjoying it as is, though!

@Hitilit - Yes, this mod is for DE, and should work without issue. Make sure steam has downloaded the workshop content and you've remembered to activate it in your mods menu! Other than that, I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

Sweeping Coupe is described as a cleave attack, and I see a small circle but even after getting surrounded by Silent Monks I've yet to hit more than 1 target with this, so I usually opt for Battle Stomp instead. Righteous Ignition is supposed to be a simple and straightforward buff, but I find it underwhelming save for the ability to prep it before a fight unlike Last Stand. I think I would like if it added extra bleeding damage to your attacks, which would have interesting interactions with Coup de Grace and lifesteal from Necro points.

I'm not versed in real life fencing, but a friend who does know more techniques about it tells me how duelists restrict space by controlling the mid range, and I would really like to see a skill that works similarly to Reactive Shot and the Gladiator talent (but only on evaded attacks and is a buff instead). It would even further sell the image of a gallant and cultured fighter.

I understand you are very busy, but good job!

Second, you said that the Duelist skills are based on Finesse and weapon scaling, does that mean that Finesse is still the greater contribution to damage of the skills themselves, or is it more like Warfare skills? I ask because my sister pointed out that reliance on backstabs (using dagger type rapiers from the Rapier mod) feels not as Honorable Combat as one would expect of the Inigo Montoya type of character. And, if something could be done about it, say a finesse build that doesn't have to rely on backstabs (which is technically an oxymoron, I understand but would be very interesting as a class identity for a finesse character), would it be possible to incorporate a tradeoff in Duelist Stance that removes backstab criticals in favor of a different kind of bonus?

As far as skills go, I don't really mind if they're technically better versions of vanilla skills, given that the class gives me the impression of "Stronger in practice than on paper."

Having a blast playing as the Duelist with my sis (Odinblade's Umbra) in 2-LW tact mode! Immersive and really fun!

I'm guessing you don't have much time to reexamine this mod lately, but I'd just like to leave some positive feedback and other notes of my experience playing it so far.

First, I did not even realize I was missing Duelist Stance, I'll have to relook for it but I'm not sure how to deal with that, I figured the Band of Honour was the supposed balance of being limited to a 1-handed playstyle. Technically, I suppose I cheated by using the Duelist Skill chest to access every duelist ability by Lv3, but the fun factor of having that access is more important to me. I would actually say that it helps me keep up with my sister who is technically stronger than me on all fronts had I not been able to access my abilities so early.

Love the mod! But I encountered a bug: When I reset my skillpoints using the magic mirror, the Duelist Stance skill disappears from the skillbook. I believe this is due to the fact, that it has a 1 Scoundrel and Warfare requirement.

Hi, trying your mod right now, party of 3, normal difficulty. Works perfectly, very well done but a bit overpowered, even if single handed (no shield, just a sword, like a true duelist ^^).
The ring with +2 AP is like having half of Lone Wolf. I guess i'll keep it till the end of the run. Having 6 AP per round is amazing.
Sweeping coupè could have a CD one turn longer, it's an amazing disabler.
Daring leap is like tactical retreat, plus knock down. It's really powerfull. Maybe hasted it's too much.

All in all i love this class. it's really fun to play ;) With or witout any change, i'll keep playing the duelist. Good job.
