it was only a joke but the map is very nice
I haven't made any maps yet, but since 2016 I played almost 80+ high-rated survival maps(well most of them died after Unity2017 update) maybe I have some ideas you would like to try.
Try add more "random encounters" on the map, like crushed plane in forest or sunk ship under water with some floating boxes and crates.
Expand cities and towns, add secret hideouts and safe houses which will spawn a little useful stuff inside the city, more broken cars/buses and even fallen buildings around the road. And I think you can even barricade some blocks inside a city then put in a safe zone and NPCs.
Few more military location, and since California bring us some more choices, maybe try Mercs?
