@Chukuku Thank you sir! Worked for me!

Simple fix. Go to Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS and you'll find an Ocean: Not Impassable file outside of its folder. Just move that file into its folder. Don't know if this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Started up the game and then mod was there.

gallant I believe in the new world sernario pack or some other they had a scurvy system so you could always add a storm system so that each turn you have 10% chance to get hit by a storm, and get damaged massive amounts of damage from 33 to 100 hp

hmm

could you add a chance of the ships randomly sinking if they are embarked and a certain distance away from the coast?

I, like others can't seem to get this mod to show up. I've tried all I know, and suggestions here, still no luck. Can you create a download link?

Can you please make a Night Vale mod?

Never got this mod to work. Too bad, I like the concept.

yeah, that's what happens when Steam screws up the download. If you have an unzip program installed like 7zip, you can right click and hover over "7-Zip" and then select "Extract to "Ocean: Not Impassable (v1)", and that will get it working........but if you dont have 7 zip, you would have to clear your Civ 5 mod cache and restart the game (which forces steam to re-download ALL your subscribed mods) so depending on how many mods you have subscribed to, that could take a while.........that is found at Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/cache and then find the file "Civ5ModsDatabase.db" and delete it

That will refresh your mods database and force Steam to download the latest versions of all the mods you are subscribed to the next time you load up the game and go into the mods section.

I second that comment, not showing up on the mod list; in the MODS folder the .mod is there but it isn't in a folder, just sitting by itself.

Can't seem to get this to show up on my list. Subscribed/unsubscribed; deleted mod database and reloaded mods...nothing seems to work. :(

Seems like a good idea but I like MegaBearsFan's idea of units taking damage until Astronomy since, while you're correct that ships would have always been able to go into the ocean, they wouldn't make it far

I tried making a similar mod, except I wanted to make it so that whenever a pre-Astronomy unit ended its turn in ocean, it took damage (similar to ending on a mountain for Carthage).

Nice job!
