I actually got some mod incompatibilities in my fixed version that i can't seem to fix myself.

so on our server we're now using

Hi Saschahi, really appreciate you updating!
Unfortunately I no longer have time to tweak or update any of my SE mods; in fact I'm on a complete SE break. As always, 100% of my work is totally free to share/change/republish, any other author whose content is inside my mods should be consulted separately. Hope the community is still enjoying the game and modders can benefit from my dodgy work!

Made a updated version here, as "fixing" this mod was basically only 3 lines of code.

(did some other smaller tweaks to it too, but nothing a user would notice)

And pretty_babys yes/I think so/yes! Definitely still produce and refine, I think welders will work because grid is set to "invulnerable" not "uneditable" but I haven't checked that bit.

Hello there, I was looking at the code of the block. We found out it was sort of intensive when used on large grids (thousands of blocks) so I tried tweaking it a bit.

Do you have a discord? I would like to contribute the changes and it would be good to have a code review from the author of the code :).

I think it should use a large degree of power when activated, to prevent people who are done on the server from having grids that are invincible for months/years (if they fully stock their reactors)

I wonder If I can set a time in real world to shut down the block's functionality. Creating an "Hour of Judgement" on the server, where no one is safe haha.

1 minute of before it takes affect might be to short. would it be possible to increase it or have a config file for it? as big factions or players with big bases can just log off and boom our attack has failed

Everyone will start using that one because it's cheaper which is a shame in SP. Causing exactly what I said, trivialising it. I was able to mine for and build this offline faction on a PvP server at my first multiplayer attempt. If I can do it anyone can.

Thanks guys; ziplock that was my thinking, it's a very powerful block and so I figured it would be good to have it be a "faction collective effort" to build (not that it's not that tricky with a decent miner and some time.

Just like a real economy, some things are too expensive for some people. Reducing it would trivialise it's importance and break immersion.

Thanks guys. I will try and remember to have a look. It's straightforward enough to just bump the time for it to kick in, and technically straightforward enough (but a lot longer) to do it via config file. Work getting in the way of life as usual haha. Appreciate the suggestion and will make note.

Would be cool to have that option in a config file. I am yet to get my server completed that uses this mod :) Hope you guys are all having fun playing SE -- my sad life is working way to many hours!

Hey jonn19, is there a way to increase the time it take for offline protection to kick in? I run a pvp server and i feel like 60s will not be adequate time for people to get through a shield. It would suck to have to police the server to make sure people arent abusing the protection mechanic

Hi bodyboarder; there was an issue with the countdown timer. No change to functionality, I just fixed the countdown code and made the visual effect a little more noticeable as it looked different from how I remember it.

Я почему бы ему не работать? Там очень простой функционал. Спасибо автору за хороший урок по скриптам. Что я только не совсем понял, он MyUpdateOrder.BeforeSimulation) меняет только на клиенте или на весь сервак...? как это сказывается на симе? Может поставить больше чем раз в 3 сек?

I have 3 questions/requests:
1) Is there a way for me to increase the timer from 1 minute without editing the script and re-uploading?

2) Is there a way for admin to temporarily disable all of these blocks? My server has a time of day where all safe zones go down. I'd love to replace that with a mod like this where players can create their own safe zones.

3) Is there a version of this that creates a safe zone bubble instead of just making the grid invulnerable? On servers that use this mod as-is, I regularly rig bases with warheads on sensors set to "detect enemy players", which destroys the base as soon as the owner comes back online.

Still working? Tested in a locally opened save, build in grid with projector and welder from an offline player (For "build by" being his). And I can still grinder your things.

Hi Cmrd Storm. Admins should be able to turn off the block via "use any terminal" which will disable the protection.

Getting an unusual issue with this mod on my server. Sometimes when a faction has been offline for a while and the FOP is turned on, it will spam chat with "Timeout: ###" to all nearby players. It doesn't seem to go much further than 5 or 6 km

I'm going to push a patch through in 24 hours, which will set <Destruct>true on ALL grids on every session start. I'm leaving it 24 hours in case any server admins have grids manually set to indestructible for any other reason... if that's you, pop one of these blocks on those grids and set ownership to an NPC faction. Also FYI if you edit the SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs file, make sure you delete the SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB2 file (it will regenerate) or your changes won't take effect. I'm sorry about the impact and rollback, with luck the patch will avoid such issues in the future.

This mod just caused us to rollback our server by 24 hours. It created a bunch of indestructible grids (also by their owners, also by admins). We tried editing the sandbox_0_0_0.sbc and the desctruction handles - didn't help. Had to rollback. I wonder what was the solution...

Thanks for the feedback Octoven. Leaving the guns active was planned to avoid "camping" of your base; if they were disabled a hostile player could basically scout around the ship,build guns or even warheads in rather inconvenient positions, and then wait for you to log in. Actually a warhead built right next to each of your gun turrets would definitely be a good strat! For that reason I'm not really keen to modify it right now but will give it a bit of thought.

While I do agree there should be offline protection, perhaps you should consider some balancing issues...for example, allowing guns to continue to function while your grid is basically invulnerable AND the guns themselves cannot be rendered disabled is extremely overpowered. There are so many ways to exploit this problem. You can have someone leave the faction, create their own, and build up nearby someone, set up a crap ton of offensive capabilities, and never log in to that character again. Do not think for an instant there arent folks out there with multiple steam accounts for crap like that, because there are. You essentially create a problem where no one can properly defend themselves against such things. Shooting off a gun or making guns inactive while being protected is NOT that much of a headache for the defender. If you are going to go offline, and your base is invulnerable there really is no logical reason you should need guns to continue to work either.

Thanks Kiffer. I should have chance to look into this over the weekend; I did do a fair amount of recoding last week to reduce the load so perhaps delete & reload the mod folder to ensure it's the latest version.

I got your excellent mod on my server, but recently i've run into a problem with it.

If its on a base, which is largely unfinished, and its in protection mode.. The whole server keeps jumping from 1.0 to 0.9 in Sim speed.
