@w.girl27 Hello again, I forgot how good these looked so I wanted to thank you for leaving this comment here too. As said in the other comment, these are not in but may try to get around to it this week or the next but gigas would have to be its own patch to keep the error log clean :LotusFlower:

IIRC Even when I set the normal to have no normal the orange glow showed up it was just a solid orange then instead of the textured orange glow. I might see if I can find the files and just upload it as is so long as its complete.

I see. I left my two cents in the Reddit post. Texture modding isn't my forte, so it may not help much, but it's worth a shot, at least.

I did not consider that. I could though.

I once attempted to expand the shipsets and species portrait with color based on your current ethics. I even factored in Ethics and Government Rebuild.

But I had an issue with the normal map (I presume) coming through the ships when I did this and I couldnt fix it so I just gave up in frustration.

Here is the link to the reddit post I made at the time on it if you wanna see an example of a ship Way Remove Normal Glow? . As you can see from the side it was supposed to be green instead of the normal Psi Re-Expanded color.

I let the author know about the issue and it turns out was an accidental overwrite of the ship_mask.dds file and it would be fixed with the next update :LotusFlower:

Luckily not so bright when bloom is turned off.
Having been looking at it its not perfect. My main issue with the regular like glowing normal still happens but maybe this way it will look better *Shrug*


Ive removed a number of mods, I'll let you know when I track down what mod is causing it specifically :LotusFlower:

Yeah I forgot to worn you that some of the objects can be as bright as a star or even brighter, especially when it comes to the larger mega structures.

I didn't have the problem when I had the NSC2 mods and alot of the others so I am not sure myself what could cause it.

I dont really see anything in that list that should cause such a thing to happen so im not hopeful. It will likely be one of those things that someone else randomly had that would help but I just cant get to work proper like with the Battleplanet.

The only thing that really looks like it would have caused such is the orange unbidden ships from (-NSC2 Addon: Extra Shipsets-)
The issues with that is you would have had to have selected the orange unbidden ships from start and from your picture it looks like you selected humanoid ships, I do not see anything in their files that would effect megastructures as shown in the picture.

My other guess is for some reason one of the mods makes a change to either the ship_mask texture or the "PdxMeshExtraDimensionalShip" shader file info in some way.

Its probably some 7th thing I hadnt even considered though but is always fun to try to solve a problem :LotusFlower:

Ah okay, yeah I don't know how to make collections yet. I have tried in the past just haven't got it nailed down yet.

@Katana Orcia If you are still subbed to this thread, I would really like to figure out why ur ships are glowing so orange and more importantly if they can be turned another color.

I dont really see anything in the mod you linked that would cause such an effect. Not that ive dived to terribly deep into it yet.

Would it be asking to much for a mod list?
The easiest way (for you not me) would go into your settings file and copy paste the mods listed there and I could just check out each mod individually.

For me on Win10 its "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\settings.txt"
You could open that then just copy and paste the mods in the "last_mods" bits

Oh my picture is of my OC that is kinda a Orca/Lugia or just a Lugia with Orca color patterns with its father. And to be honest I think I made this pic befor Gale of Darkness was released.

Unfortunately I can't but I believe I know the mod responsible for this interesting effect, however without testing to actually find out it is just speculation.

I believe this is the mod giving the golden glow as some of the structures seam to give off said glow as well.

I have not. I was working on such a mod for such a thing tbh but ive been blocked by a rather "golden glow" of the normal map getting in the way...

Just a quick question, have you added different color options to ships and mega structures based on ethics? If not it must be another of my mods doing it because all of my ships, stations, and mega structures have this beautiful golden glow instead of the more blueish purple in your screen shots.

You should not be able to replicate it. TBH it should not have happend at all considering the issue was reported before I incorporated giga & giga files point it to the normal dyson sphere not the modified one.

but if you do come across anything let me know. Same goes to everyone else who uses this because I got sleepy when finishing this up and its always possible the copy & paste didnt go over well.

Should be mostly fine though enjoy :LotusFlower:

When I said "NPC ships", I was talking about the ships of the Unbidden, Fallen, Contingency and Scourge. None of those ships use turrets.

And sorry, but I don't liked of what I saw in your Fixed Turrets mod.

NPC ships have turrets though. Most shipsets do anyway outside of a few.

You might want to try my Fixed Turrets mod. It makes a few turret tweaks to make them more asthetically pleasing.

Disclaimer, these are not my psionic textures. This is Paradoxs Unbidden shader applied to different models.
Someone could probably make such an offshoot to allow you to start with a "psionic" shipset of your choice.

Such a thing is partially available in Psionics Re-Expanded albiet at a cost and including turrets.

Although why no turrets?

What we really need is an Avian/Moluscoid/Fungoid shipset (and stations!) using your "psionic" texture -- but without turrets.
