Yup, granma used to say that all the time

You know what they say, just shut the fuck up Demora and let people mod their games freely.
ooh 11 Oct, 2024 @ 2:28pm
"bad for new players!!! fix ur bad team comp!!" ninja stfu. let players how they wanna play instead of suffering mechanics that annoy them.
Demora 21 Jul, 2024 @ 1:23pm
New players should not use this, pass mechanics help u grow as a player and help you make a team which can shuffle a bit to avoid this. in long term you will be missing out on fixing ur bad team comp

@Mike There sure is option to add it to move skill, but it would require editing every single hero in Darkest Dungeon. As for the pass turn button maybe someone wiser than me could help you as the pass button is not mentioned in any character skillsheet, hence it could be troublesome to add such effects.
Mike 17 Sep, 2022 @ 2:36pm
Is there anyway to add an effect like reposte or increased dodge to the pass button? I think that would be a great addition to the pass mechanic. Something like an "overwatch" effect from X-com

yo thanks man i'm tired of losing a bunch of stress so one person can land an attack on someone on the back
Justice 5 Feb, 2022 @ 9:52am
bro arguments between darkest dungeon fans are hilarious they always use high vocabulary that makes them sound Shakespearean when arguing about whether or not the stress dealt from passing your turn is integral to the game.
KarmaTheAlligator 6 Nov, 2021 @ 5:28am
Thanks, love it. Never understood why passing your turn should be stressful.

@ChibiZeta Imagine saying so much and so little at the same time
DiabeticT1 18 Sep, 2021 @ 5:41pm
@ChibiZeta I'm genuinely curious why you care so much about the mods when you don't work on the game yourself? Most game creators generally love mods themselves.
Janek  [author] 11 Sep, 2021 @ 1:01am
@ChibiZeta Yeah, have a good one, Sheriff :cozybethesda:
I hope that this talk gave both of us insight and different perspective as to one perceiving fun and entertainment.
ChibiZeta 10 Sep, 2021 @ 3:28pm
@John Garett The pass button is to admit ones mistake or to the creative minds, a tool used against the game itself, the satisfying moment of outsmarting a smartly made game. This is what gaming is to me. How I see mods in games, well I see it as a new game told by someone else (Just not this mod). Learning is to grow to be a better gamer, finding more ways to enjoy the same game, and learning to me is life, filled with mistakes but still getting to that goal.
As a side note: I'm starting to like this conversation, as an improvement to myself, and hopefully an eye open to others (including me), but I will make this (hopefully) my last post here and let others have the spotlight and to stop any form of weird moments of 'is it ok if I could say something' moments. I hope you enjoy your day.
ChibiZeta 10 Sep, 2021 @ 3:21pm
@John Garett Clearly our view points on this is very much different, I see games closer to real life, teaching us in different ways improving one self while enjoying what it has to offer and give. For you, it sounds like, you see it as a disconnect for life. I believe that its our ability to continue learning and approving one self is what makes us truly human. And before you continue to use disability as an excuse for lack of growth or understanding. I grew up with disabilities and I continue to push forward to overcome my past self and improve myself. Just like how most people grow when playing any game for the first time. We all start out 'weak' (I can't find the real right word) but we learn from our mistakes and others mistakes. What this mod does, in my eyes, is remove the ability to recognized that mistake.
Janek  [author] 10 Sep, 2021 @ 2:41pm
@ChibiZeta I don't give a damn if a guy next door to me makes his Dark Eldritch game a Weeaboo Anime Simulator. Even if I don't approve of such idea I don't go ahead and write under those mods that they ruin the atmosphere and don't fit it. I hope that you will learn one day that every person is different and needs a different approach, someting reasonable for you might not be even close for others. Even if you think it's stupid to remove difficulty (You can think that, it's your own reasoning), some people with let's say disabilites, have trouble playing for example FPS games, yet they try, cause it gives them fun even if they won't experience it the same way as you. You have one life and time is very precious, yet you decided to argue over internet with a grumpy old me. I can be a kid, I can be a grandpa in your eyes, for all I care I won't meet you in my life so you can say whatever you want, as long as it does not break steam guidelines :winter2019tireddog:
Janek  [author] 10 Sep, 2021 @ 2:38pm
@ChibiZeta You still don't get it that people can customize any game however they want, either by increasing the difficulty spike, adding whole new content, or changing the existing content to their liking, be it removing it or toning it down. It's up to them to figure what makes their gameplay fun, because games are meant to be played for fun. What's worth more, gritting your teeth on your n-th annoying situation, or tweaking it to your own difficulty. You comparing Real life to Games is definitely EoT for me, if you don't see the difference then why am I bothering. Games are not like real life, killing NPC does not meet the same consequences and in real life. Same goes for skipping a turn. Darkest Dungeon has its own niche, own style, and fun set of mechanics that other games can't replicate so well, maybe that's why many casual players are attracted to it.
ChibiZeta 9 Sep, 2021 @ 3:43pm
@John Garett Lastly aren't you missing some of the points seeing of being a creator by simply retaliating against me for simply sharing my opinion and not just simply asking why I feel that why in a much nicer way. But no you jumped to attack first and ask questions never attitude! Your the real kid in my eyes. By the way, I won't remove the first commit because it is simply my opinion and nothing more (that was supposed to disappear and be ignored but whatever).
P.S. Don't call me names or insult me anymore and lets be adults if that isn't too hard for you.
Side note: Found out about character limit the hard way (so apologies in advances for 2nd ping)
ChibiZeta 9 Sep, 2021 @ 3:42pm
@John Garett your right about the 1st commit (and admitting that 1 fact), however I didn't create this game nor am I Forcing them to play the game my way. What I don't get is why people go out of their way to buy a challenging game and expect not to be punished by set game. In life you are punished for mistakes (no matter how small) and this game is the same way. Simply removing that punishment, makes any negative behavior worse and prevents creative ways around set problem. If you can't handle the difficulty, then why get a hard and challenging. What is the point. If the game is too hard then play or make a different game. If you can't handle the punishment then avoid being punished, don't just remove it because the punishment is 'too much'.
Janek  [author] 8 Sep, 2021 @ 10:38pm
@ChibiZeta You call yourself a critic, yet your first comment was exactly "Bad mod" with no feedback what so ever. If not for me dragging you by your putrid tongue you would have never gave a proper explaination. Saying that something is bad or "I hate it" gives no insight, or maybe you thought I'm a mind-reader? You could not handle proper discussion with mod creator that laid it out clearly that not everyone is a gritty old hardcore veteran that likes to cuss on every tweak in a mod scene. Take a look at ratings, and how many people are subscribed. Go on, tell them they are not playing the proper way, Your way. That they are missing out (Perhaps fully aware of that, they search for a solution for this mechanic, hmmm?) on some stupid random 8 stress ticks after clearing whole wave doing nothing. Sure it's soooo stressful. If you don't have any good response please take a hike to your own dungeon, and customize it as you please kid.
Noodlers 7 Sep, 2021 @ 3:44pm
Absolute druggie this one is.
ChibiZeta 7 Sep, 2021 @ 3:15pm
@John Garett I am talking about the same game and yes it is a core part of the game. Lastly I'm helping others by being a critic by pointing out the negatives of this mod. And don't assume my perspective on modded heroes lore or how broken a certain trinket is, sense they affect the game much differently. Lastly if I created a modded hero, I would gladly take critics into account, specially if something is to underwhelming or overpowered so I could adjust the character or take into account for future projects. You just told me just know your a horrible content creator just from the last reply alone, critics exist live with it.
Janek  [author] 7 Sep, 2021 @ 10:38am
@ChibiZeta Are we talking about the same game? The core aspect is the stress management inflicted by curios and enemies, taking out one stress factor that can be easily nullified by using skills usable from all 4 positions, or swapping with one hero if that's a problem. It's like saying DON'T TURN OFF CORPSES YOU ARE MISSING THE CORE PART OF THE GAME. Bruh, if someone does not want it, and wants to enjoy their own dose of Darkest Dungeon, then so be it. What's next, arguing that some modded hero's don't fit lore or are way too overpowered like Marvin Seo's Duchess with her crimson court trinkets?
ChibiZeta 6 Sep, 2021 @ 2:55pm
@John Garett I'm not but your missing out on some of the most core parts of this game with this mod (virtue grinding), being scrambled by enemy and fixing your position, and properly avoiding the reinforcements from appearing when stress healing / healing.
Janek  [author] 6 Sep, 2021 @ 12:48pm
@ChibiZeta Sure then don't use it will you? It's not like you are obliged to download it and it's forced into your gameplay.
ChibiZeta 6 Sep, 2021 @ 11:01am
Bad Mod
They_call_me_"Grandpa" 6 Apr, 2021 @ 11:23am
It's one of this mod you didn't know you need it until you try it.
They_call_me_"Grandpa" 6 Apr, 2021 @ 11:22am
Mod works perfectly.
Corey_ 18 Sep, 2020 @ 3:23am
If an afflicted hero passes on their own does it still stress them out? I feel that makes sense to me I haven't been able to see though. Other than that I like this, since you can just shuffle your team to "skip" turns anyway.
Janek  [author] 13 Jun, 2020 @ 5:05am
@feral.Kaddahn I just checked it on my new savefile after Butcher's Circus DLC patch, and it still works, put the mod on top of the list and stop spreading fake information.
Kaddahn 13 Jun, 2020 @ 2:17am
does not work for me, i even started a new run
Janek  [author] 29 May, 2020 @ 8:32am
@Potion Master 37 Same here, it's a poor choice for a design.
Xp Potion 27 28 May, 2020 @ 7:36pm
Hey thanks for this. It always bugged me that I got penalized for simply skipping a turn.
SpectreWulf 24 Apr, 2020 @ 1:07pm
@Daybreaker haha Exactly! <3
Janek  [author] 24 Apr, 2020 @ 11:10am
@SpectreWulf You're welcome Grimm. Some of the time game cucks you out of option, because last enemy can't be reached with attacks in certain positions and you are forced to mess up your team layout for no reason or take stress damage, and the further you get the more dangerous it is. In my opinion it's a cheap mechanic, especially that enemies do enough stress by themselves so adding passing turn stress on top is not neccessary. :cozyprodman:
SpectreWulf 23 Apr, 2020 @ 11:11pm
This never made sense to me especially in a Turn Based Combat...

Thanks you! <3
