Im not quite sure if i am doing something wrong. I have tried with several different turrets and mined areas and nothing seems to even make the turrets activate.
I have tried:
Attack all enemies
Missile defence
Different turrets
Different Ships
Different ranges both 500m to 3km
The only "success" i had with anything is the abandoned L class ship from Faulty logic, the turrets come on line but then go into standby when nearing a mine cluster.

Great mod, glad I stumbled on this gem! There are not many times I need to clear mines, but with this mod I decided to go on a little mine hunting expedition :steamsunny:

You have to control ship or be on this ship or be near this ship (in direct visibility)

Which of these is true?

Maybe, as they say, this is due to the difficulty of translation ...
Tell me, do I have to be on the ship or do I need to be in the zone with this ship, or can I be on the ship and in the zone of my choice?

Great idea too bad the author got lazy. However, mine defense should be a part of vanilla but common sense and/or finishing the basics are not a part of Egosoft's MO.

Half baked PD system at best.

Seems it doesnt work for me. No matter if i set my turrets to anti missle, mining or a combination thereof. :(

This is still working. But HAVE to have ONE turret group to MINING. Only on player ship as far as I can tell. Other ships usually dont go for mines.

@darkspear thats a base game issue, turrets don't like doing as they're told a lot of the time, other times its because they are targeting something outside their range which deactivates them or activates them but they can't target the next nearest target.

was sitting in a Osprey Sentinel with laser turrets and when all 4 turrets is set to missile defense nothing happens. when i changed the first on the left to ore mining the remaining 3 started to shoot mines.... problem with beam turrets only? have no clue

Perhaps it only works on mines that show as targets and not random mines that you have to shoot by eye?

This mod does not seem to work on the mines surrounding abandoned ships sadly. (I was on the ship when testing) Was hoping my corvette that goes around grabbing the random generated claims would use its turrets to deal with them now.
