And at last, I think you can understand that I can't spend at least one month of my free time to make an entire set for somebody else for free, and not something that comes from my own desire, cause I'll have to make a set for everyone who ask me, not only you.
Because first of all, I'm already working on an entire set for Portuguese, and so I need entire dedication to it. Making an entire set (feudal + castle + imperial) takes at least 1 month (and I don't count walls !) and only with hard work on it almost every evening (cause I'm working at my real job on daytime). I also have a long list of things that I need to fix in my old mods, that other users have already requested.
@dontstayafk : As long as you give credits, there's no problems :)
I believe the default IA numbering for the Britons' monastery would be 35153, is that right?
@meboosta : No it's doesn't override it, but with both mods, Franks and Britons will have different buildings except walls and castle.
If history didn't matter, why make independent sets at all? But anyway - I digress. I didn't realize it was that much work. I'm looking forward to your feudal set, even if it's brown and dirty. :) I guess i'll just continue using the standart set for now.
But the fact is, we can't be 100% accurate with history in making sets for AoE, even the developper's can't. You have to make choices to get game logic and uniformity. It's a video game after all, not an history book.
And I felt like Franks with black roofs, and Britons with brown roof was definitely weirder than what I'm actually doing ^^ I could have made them both browns or both blacks, but it would have remove the original intention which was to make them look differents.
"Britons" most likely means England during the Heptarchy, (Anglo-Saxons), so their buildings should somewhat resemble reconstructions of Winchester or Westminster, and not Tudor or Elizabethan Architecture, which is post-medieval.
Anyway. I digress. I realize you didn't make that decision. Jsut a shame, that I cannot find a single decent Frankish architecture set out there. Having this, as an IA Frank set would be enough for now, so if anybody could get on that? :)
Anyway, Yeah, I know that Architecture in Aquitaine, Occitanie and Provence is partly more mediterranean, but the Frankish heartland was between the Seine and the Rhine. It's an area rich in slate, where you'll find a majority of houses having slate-roofs.
The Briton Wonder you mentioned is actually the Aachen Cathedral, and is (ironically) most definitly Frankish. Actually it's maybe the most iconic Frankish building of all, since it was the seat of Emperor Charlemagne. ("Teuton" Wonder is Frankish too btw.) If you google "Carolingian Architecture", you'll see what I mean. Or google St. Michales in Fulda, Lorsch Abbey, St. Justinus in Frankfurt, Ingelheim Palace reconstruction, Abbey of Corvey, Kaiserpfalz Goslar, or many of the 100 other royal residences of Frankish Kings.
But good work anyways.
@Felik : Will I make Japan ? No there is enough set in the Steam Workshop for Japan. Besides I personally use the original set for them.
@Dragon Heart : Probably, as soon as I've finished this one (I still have to make a Castle)
