I understand completely, even when i build my brick i want to finish it to the last detail!
jrandall  [author] 16 Jan, 2021 @ 1:14pm
Thanks Ronnin79. I can see your point, but I really would not want to release an unfinished ship on the inside. I could try to leave more stuff out, but I think that would seem odd unless it was meant to add certain parts and things if the CPU got upgraded. Thanks again!

I love your ships also but i wish you did only exterior shell for some of them without filling them up, leave that for players to setup how we want. I trying to find small, simple design double layer combat steel ship that i don't need to run around for half hour to get something, but i can't find any. I have to make brick for myself because when those beautiful ships get blown it is hard to repair them without having base or paying millions of credits. I also play on No cpu and no weight server, so for me no need for extensions and cpu's and stuff.

Thank you again Nw1lE [DevilMan] :)

Thank you jrandall for these cool buildings, I really like it! They not only look cool, but also very convenient to use. So if my friends will play Empyrion, I recommend subscribing to all your content on This game, because it's really top!

@Nw1lE [DevilMan], lol. Thanks.

Cosmos? COOOOOOSMOOOOOOOOS!
jrandall  [author] 21 May, 2020 @ 9:31am
Thank you []ReeO[], Zagan, and BatteryAcids! Sorry about my slow response. I am not sure if I want to try and update the cosmos or not. I have built some newer starter CV's now. For the human faction, the Wayfarer-ST has been updated to A11 as well as the Carapace-C3 as BatteryAcids mentioned. The other 2 new starters are the MCRN-Pioneer-T2 and the Kriel-Shade. Both A11 and should move to A12 easily. Thank you all again!
BatteryAcids 21 May, 2020 @ 8:20am
@zagan Check out his Carapace-C3 very comparable and CPU compliant. with some upgrades vs this ship! (rarities)...
Zagan 24 Feb, 2020 @ 10:16am
Any chance you could maybe update this CV for A11?

I love this ship, been using it for over a year now. It's a great 1st Capitol Ship. Has lots of room to carry your SVs and HVs so you can leave your starter planet and take everything you need along with you.

It's not a combat ship, but it's like a big RV to go out and explore your solar system. It is not a fuel hog either. Just land and turn off the non-essential systems and you can leave it running while you survey the planet, put up your base, or a T3 miner or two. It also makes a nice temporary base itself with 2 Advanced Constructors and plenty of cargo to build whatever you need.

oh my lord what a design this is! like cmon you get out the seat have a switch to to turn thrusters on/off! external lights on/off.. Evering in this Ship is just so perfectly placed. undoubtedly best build in a Cv i have yet to find! in process right now on my dedi server awaiting the build time to finish on this as this is my home/ship for me. Sensors-setup for me.. i mean oh yes this ship was made for your ease! 10/10 this is the bee's knee's base ship for me :) TY!
jrandall  [author] 29 Sep, 2019 @ 9:29am
Thanks Trym! I guess I am not sure what it needs to be alpha 10. I will spawn it and see if it has block rotation issues etc, but it already had the newer storage etc. As in a shield, I not sure how that would work out with space as it wasn't designed for it when it was built. (They were not in the game yet). I will take a look at thou. Thanks again!
Trym 29 Sep, 2019 @ 7:44am
Can this be used for Alpha 10,x? I love the design of it, want a small CV.

Thank you TheMartianOne!
TheMartianOne 27 Sep, 2019 @ 10:18am
You have a lot of very good stuff. I love the style of all your ships and creations. I added a lot of ships to my collections, and i can see your name is repeating too, lol. Definitivelly my favourite constructor, as i can see. Keep up the good work!
Emiricol4Rl 10 Jul, 2019 @ 6:24pm
No, thank YOU :)
jrandall  [author] 10 Jul, 2019 @ 12:56pm
Thank you Emiricol4Rl! Sorry I messed your other comment. All this ship needs really is a shield and I bet another generator. I will take a look. Thanks again!
Emiricol4Rl 10 Jul, 2019 @ 12:48pm
Pretty please, update this for Alpha10! :D
Emiricol4Rl 6 May, 2019 @ 5:21pm
It's a brilliant layout, and marking locations for add-ons was much appreciated. I have my HV collector and HV de-builder in the hangar with a MX8 on the roof (facing away from the landing pad doorway so it's fast to run in and pilot it in an emergency), along with another SV for mining -- and a tiny runabout for handling errands like checking autominers. Everything I need fits and is easy to get to :)
jrandall  [author] 5 May, 2019 @ 3:45pm
Thank you Emiricol4Rl! It is newer and was trying to get a lot of hangar space but with a low price tag. lol. Thanks again!
Emiricol4Rl 5 May, 2019 @ 11:45am
I went with the COSMOS :) I think it's the best mix of size and usefulness of the whole series! But I added exterior and one interior guns for anti-personnel/anti-critter defenses. Just because.
Emiricol4Rl 3 May, 2019 @ 2:12pm
For all-around PVE survival functionality and ease of use, which one wins -- the NOMAD or the COSMOS? Choices, choices...
jrandall  [author] 6 Apr, 2019 @ 5:48am
Thank you very much Blacklight :)
Blacklight 5 Apr, 2019 @ 8:28pm
This is amazingly well done. The Cosmos is the best starter CV I have used and I have tried most. It does everything, its fairly small making it easy to build and repair, handles great, easy access to everything and looks fantastic! The attention to detail really stands out as usual with jrandalls ships. If you are looking for a specific role such as combat then a ship designed around that role might be better for you but if you want the best starter CV on the workshop then this is it.
jrandall  [author] 11 Mar, 2019 @ 5:39am
Thank you Spaghettioz, and JR3050T! @JR3050T, Yeah, I know this ship is weak and not set up for any kind of combat short of drone defense. I was trying to keep it cheap with space but room was limited for parts. I am planning on making a tougher starter CV yet too. Will a ship like this, it works good for a base but should try and avoid combat or getting near a hostile POI. I am planning on doing a new playthru on the game (It's been quite a awhile now) and get more familiar with the newer systems and how combat is going. Thanks again!
jr3050t 11 Mar, 2019 @ 2:52am
Overall really good layout just a suggestion based on how my own starter CV is being damaged in A9.
The new POI space stations tend to start by launching a barrage of 4 to 8 homing laser missiles at the nearest turret. Even if you are cautious, you don’t have the manoeuvrability to dodge, so that turret is toast though you can often get out of range etc to escape further volleys. The problem is the 2nd or 3rd missile explodes the turret and the remainder plough on into your CV into the same area. One block of steel separation to any devices near the turret is not enough to save them. In this case you will probably loose the generators that are under the turrets.
The other thing I noticed is that the warp drive can be chain exploded by 2 of the external thrusters as there is no separation at all.
Spaghettioz 9 Mar, 2019 @ 12:00pm
Nice. Basically a movable base. But will you STOP posting stuff I want to get and therefore confining me to mine and loot for hours till I can make yet ANOTHER ship? :P I have to leave my house at some point!
jrandall  [author] 9 Mar, 2019 @ 8:45am
Thank you Ramseur :)
Ramseur 9 Mar, 2019 @ 6:10am
I have 2k hours in this game and this is my favourite SP vessel for exploring. Plenty of room for my POI HV and miner plus my 3 SVs on top. Thank you
jrandall  [author] 8 Mar, 2019 @ 10:44am
Thank you eyespeculum, riflery19, and Mindrivet! @riflery19, more thrust than needed was added for carrying cargo with weight limits on. Also I have noticed any alpha 9 storage ships tend to use more power as the storage requires power. However this ship has only what it needs for generators etc, and not a lot of fuel tanks compared to other CV's. Thanks again all!
Mindrivet 8 Mar, 2019 @ 9:58am
@riflery19 that is pretty decent for a capital vessel in atmosphere. You aren't meant to fly capital vessels in atmospheres, try it in space instead. If you find the need for the long-range firepower, fuel is well worth it (as warfare irl is very fuel expensive).
riflery19 8 Mar, 2019 @ 8:32am
Full Tank lasts 18 minutes of flight
riflery19 8 Mar, 2019 @ 8:31am
What a guzzler of fuel holy cow
eyespeculum 8 Mar, 2019 @ 8:20am
A terrific addition! I love the simplicity of the layout, and the complexity of the aesthetics. Everything is right where you need it to be, it's easy to get where you need to go, and it looks great while you're doing it. Couldn't ask for anything more for an early game ship!

Amazing looking. Small builds are in many ways harder. JR is at the top of his field again.
Thanks Jrandall! I'll play around with it.
jrandall  [author] 5 Mar, 2019 @ 6:17am
Thank you very much Sektran, Matt10999, Artyse, VRMan3D, Goons, and Dan Bolo! @Goons, it is pretty easy. You just need to have cargo controller and then directly connect cargo extensions touching it or one another. I tend to build a facing near the constructors and cargo controller actually using cargo extensions and then squeeze the rest where ever it can fit it as long as it is touching another cargo extension in the group. Max allowed on CV per cargo controller is 320K volume. When adding more extensions the cargo controller will tell you the total size when accessing it. Thanks again all!
Dan Bolo 5 Mar, 2019 @ 12:15am
Another awsome build!!
I really love the shaping on the bridge, feels super natural.

Man I really need to figure out how these volume containers work > .>
VRMan3D 4 Mar, 2019 @ 7:50pm
I am enjoying this one - very functional, quick routes to commonly used things, lots of space. Thanks. Thumbs up.
desroyer131452 4 Mar, 2019 @ 6:09pm
This is currently my new go to starter cv to haul around all my essential hv's and sv's when i am establishing my place in the galaxy! Love it!
