im going to try using the mountable turretbases mod to also include a few slings to see :)
If you are so inclined...
Summer Salad: required berries or agave + 2 veg
Potato Salad: required Potato + 2 veg.
Corn Chowder: required Corn + meat + 1 veg.
Summer Squash Soup: required squash, carrot and pumpkin.
Popcorn: required Corn + salt (crap for nutrition but Happy/Social bonus?)
Cream of Tomato: required tomato, milk or soymilk?
Jam and toast: fruit, sugar, bread.
My 1000+ hours in rimworld doesnt include alternate accounts. Truth be told I'm closer to 1600 hours after a 14 month break, after that amount of time even things like VG garden are played out, lol. That said, any new recipes delight me. Sadly I have no head for coding. Quanities, servings and nutritional value I leave to you but I personally hope your enthusiastic and mix it up a bit. :)
I have more recipes and ideas but I dont want to overwhelm. Let me know what you think.
@pggames-food Thank you for the feedback your right i will need to add better balancing. Did you try the shields, or weapons? and what did you think of the different shield system?
here is some feedback for you:
i like the fact that sweet porridge gives 3 mood buff, and creamy sweet gives 5, (and can understand how normal basic porridge gives -1 lol. some people love basic porridge, but i guess its a good incentive for making the other ones)
when i tried spawning some in with the admin console as a test, there seemed to be 2 lots of creamy sweet porridge?
i also noticed that (normal ,sweet, creamy) seem to have same stats:
$15 0.9 nutrition, and 0.44 weight.
maybe if -1 mood buff is a bit harsh, it could be tweaked a bit , so that it scales up in a few other different ways, similar to the way you did it for "work to make"? for example:
Normal Porridge could be only 0.8 nutrition, and 0.40kg weight
Sweet with 0.85 nutrition with 0.42 weight
and Sweet Creamy Porridge, could be 0.9 nutrition and 0.44 weight.
this way, as players obtain more items, and have some spare fruits or milk, they can make the better tastier foods to get more buffs too:)
is there an easy way you could draw a little "c" letter on the bowl or pot which is "creamy" in the graphics? i think this could be a quick way to identify which of the 4 porridges we see, just by looking at the picture, but without needing a completely special picture, just a letter on the creamy ones :) (normal picture, normal + c, sweet, sweet picture +c) :)
also, can the special porridges, such as sweet and creamy porridge, also add some buffs, like recreation 5% or something? tasty porridge is always fun to eat, especially when it is sweet with honey - i play with Haplos bees and honey mod, + rimbees, but i think its easier to add the recipe using haplos as it just has 1 honey as far as i can tell, ,rimbees has 10-20 honeys? :)
i then noticed that you already allow for honeys and pretty much any food item for some recipes, so its already here :) but then noticed that you also included the Meat category for making sweet porridge.. (with all the different factions, its actually ok as there are more carnivorous factions so maybe for them, meat is sweet) - so all the variety is cool and probably friendly to future mods too :)
(my one currently also has the medieval mod plus lots of others)
