5 years later and it still works perfect,a great starter when you can get off planet and avoid a server starter planet reset,while collecting resources for a cv

Update, using it for a teleport network base put it near as possible to a star add more solar pannel and blam teleport network :D

Great starter base and can always expand later with additional modules. Also, could serve as a great outpost on other planets that may not be worth putting a full-fledged base on. Good work!

That's all right I gave it a coat of combat steel blocks because of npc factions patrolling the orbit.
and of course a few Laser turrets for good measure. thanks.

I don't know a way to upgrade them using the multitool but I think I can use the replaceblocks command to swap out all the carbon blocks with steel.

Would you rather see steel, concrete, armored concrete, or what?

The thing basically has no defenses because there are no base attacks in orbit right now so not much in the way of threats but I'm not sure... maybe a roaming CV could run across it at random.

Oh, I was hitting some sort of bug where 10 of the solar panels were gone when I spawned it. It is supposed to have 15, but the 5 on the top and bottom were missing every time I spawned it. Is it working properly now or is anyone else seeing this bug?

I KNOW I saved it with all 15 panels because I checked.

If you're thinking of the cargo limits being enabled, the cargo containers should be reasonable storage space without the high power requirements. But you'll probably have plenty of power so you could just remove them and replace with controller/extensions. They recently reduced the power consumption for extenders. But if you replace the containers with one big controller/extenders the total volume will be the same it will just be one big container.

@Alte: I don't think it looks that great really but the idea was just to make something super cheap that can charge up lots of capacitors in space so you can do stuff with the energy. The main problem with it is the lack of floor space to start out with. I should probably make something that's got enough interior room to hold like five furnaces and a bunch of constructors, though i guess they could just be stuck on the outside of the thing. Was mostly just trying to make something cheap to solve game needs.
