Updated for 1.6 but I haven't done any testing yet. If anyone is able to fix issues such as flow direction or mod conflicts, you are welcome to upload your own version of the mod since I was just keeping this one updated.

@Church.exe I can confirm that chest-deep water doesn't have a flow direction.

I'm not certain but I think there might be a conflict with this and Dubs Bad Hygiene. If you have a map with a river in it you can see the flow direction (which is important so that your sewage outlet isn't flowing into your drinking water) but it looks like all of the chest-deep water doesn't have a flow direction. I'm playing with a large modpack so it could be something else, but it seems weird that only chest-deep moving water would be affected if so.

Known incompatibility is Biomes Core Mod. If you have it loaded this mod does not work.

So it seems like this is not working, other factions, raids, trading caravans are still spawning on deep ocean water and can still walk be it slowly.
The tile has land area they could spawn from the edge.

Nature is pretty sweet changes the movement speed of chest deep to 4%, much like Biomes.

Thanks for the new mod, might give that a shot for a bit just to see how it changes my base designs. And no worries about the delay, I spent most of last night going through mods and issues that I didn't even end up playing lol.

I never realized how much my games with rivers totally changed because of this mod. Well crap, guess I can't depend on half the river being an impenetrable defense. Take your time, but man this mod is important on some maps. Thanks otherwise for a cool mod!

I back that up. It doesn't make sense for it to be impassable. It should be harder, but passable. Hope someone is willing to fix that

Love the concept, cant seem to get it to work, deep water is still perfectly path-able in my game.
it's bound to be a mod conflict but can't work out what mod is causing this mod to just flat not work at all :(

Does this mod have a conflict with Vanilla Fishing expanded? I can't remember if you can normally put fishing zones on deep water, but in a pack that I have that uses both this and that mod, I cannot put the zones in deep water.

Is there a version that just makes it very unwise to go into deep water instead of just removing it? I'm talking like 90% movement speed penalty for chest deep water or something...

now we just need a mod that makes swimming across the ocean not a viable attack strategy so giving up building area for ocean water isnt just a net loss.

@DegenerateDUck It seems it works with Shallow (last I checked) and it did USED to work with deep water. Not sure what changed, maybe try load order?

seems that is does not. I was getting solid 10 second soft crash freezing with two second smooth fps everytime the biome shifted when using this with yayos nature.

it could also be from using like 400 other mods. so can anyone confirm this?

Sadly this mod is not compatible with "Nature's Pretty Sweet" either. Terrain mods are definitely the bane of this mod. Oddly enough it fixes the problem with "Vanilla Fishing Expanded". Anyways, keep up the good work, and thank you for your time.

I'm unsure if it would work but it might be worth a shot, So Alpha Animals has some creatures that completely ignore terrain walk speed, You could maybe make a patch that incorporates that part of the mod into the Biomes Islands mod for the fish. I don't know if this is even possible or not, I'm just throwing out a thought of a maybe fix.

I'm having the same Issue as DadRadSkittle (the guy below me), to me it's honestly not a huge deal but it sort of defeats the point of having an island map.

I've got Biomes! Core and Islands installed and its making Chest deep moving water still walk-able, i've also got grand rivers reborn, I've loaded this after both so it should be working but still isn't no mater where I place it. There is limited compatibility with Vanilla Fishing Expanded. This mod makes the deep water inaccessible for fishing. Love this mod.

@Hobgoblin @SkeleMann - I've tried using Beautiful Outdoors mod with Impassible Chest-deep Water mod and I get no incompatibilities, must be other mods interfering, if you keep having problems please post your error logs so I can take a look, thank you

So glad I found this mod. I absolutely hated that rivers were strategically useless before this, it should be a vanilla feature honestly.

Hey guys thanks for the feedback, I believe it would be possible to make a compatibility patch that adjusts the movement cost/impassibility of the water terrain types added by Islands! Biomes. I gave it a go but unfortunately I'm very noob at programming, I'll have to contact the author of Biomes and see if they can assist. As LupusIntus said though, not sure how that would affect the sea animals movement, so may not even be possible without removing them.

@Kaladin IMHO, I think that would be part of the challenge. In an ideal world you'd still get mid-late game raids via pods but then have to deal with limited resources, no traders and no animal-herds from the map edge as well as being restricted from caravans until you research your own launch pods.

I don't think it would even work well with the biomes islands mod, since it would prevent raids and traders and anything else from entering/leaving the map I would guess. Great mod but unless there's a boat/naval dlc added the functionality isn't there
