@Dr. C, all you should need is the Daedric Smithing perk and the materials it lists on the recipe.

I actually didn't know that. Glad Bethesda decided to stick an obviously needed feature into DLC instead of a patch.... Thankfully there are multiple mods like mine for those of us without DLC.
