@Sire Lollipoo: I build every ship different. Some ships I start to build from a general layout. The Atlas based of the two nacelles and a long beam in the middle like the SR1-Normandy or the Forward Unto Dawn.
The Kestrel started with a tank and four turrets as „wings“ to the sides. The Condor was just a engine layout. The Nestorious was initially a cube with engines and a large rocket launcher phalanx. Then I built the bridge, the wings, the hangar and the missile turret layout. Aesthetics and everything else came after.
Find out whats most important for your build, then start building everything else around it.
Love from america!
So whatever you do. If you want to become a good creator, stick to it and keep building. Start over and over and over again.
Today I stay true to my values. Everybody should. Engineers know that IMDC stands for ships that have a good balance between design and functionality, often they combine design influence from Halo, Star Wars and Elite Dangerous. They are not overly complicated to use and easily to make out from far. „corporate identity“ and knowing what to expect from a faction is important.
wall of text
Well to be completely honest in 2013 in the early days of Se, Early Access and the Workshop Entries I was starting to build a few creations and uploaded them. Some of them were good and some people loved them and some others were mediocre. I put them all in one collection without knowing of a little bug in the Steam Ratings for Collections. The bug would make every rating of one item of the collection apply to all the collection and every creation in it. So one day I was freaking out like whoa i have 1k likes on some builds. A few days later it was clear to me that this was a bug as some users pointed out that some mediocre builds have more likes than views. It was a mess, some people really liked my builds and others were harrassimg me for getting attention on the workshop that i didnt deserve, and of course they were right. But I had a name now.
You have to press one of the buttons on the second page of the toolbar (get there with ctrl+2)
Fill the tanks and batteries before maybe and then turn off the engines.
I love when people build things realatable to curent day space things.
Probably.
Thanks for all the comments @all
What a time to be alive! :D
