I need this mod in tww3. I hate the idea of defenders routing in sieges both from an attackers and defenders viewpoint.

@SkavenDan Feel free to make a W3 version, all I did was increase a morale bonus defenders already had inside the walls and make it really high, i'm not playing W3 because I'm still waiting for them to fix the game.

So this needs adjusting before I will continue to use it, mainly because factions like Greenskins and Skaven really ought to abandon all hope and flee into the tunnels or forests or whatever, it's tedious as FUCK hunting down every last skavenslave in a siege and makes 0 sense. If you are able to adjust it so that certain factions do flee upon a siege being obviously lost then I would happily use the mod again

so the IA of warhammer 2 does send 1 squad to the plaza for an last stand but thats all sadly i was really mad with sieges of warhammer 2 he comes a long time before rome 2 and they throw back the sieges battles alot also there no more sea battles i love to do the boardings in rome thanks for the mod this make my gameplay better even if its not yet what i m after its the best we can get from warhammer 2 i didn't play warhammer 3 yet but i m hopping they make the sieges there better

The morale buff has the same effect basically, I'm sure the exact same thing could be done it's just a lot of work and I would have no idea how to even do it.

I tried playing warhammer 3 on release and it had too many issues including performance, then i upgraded my gpu recently, tried again and it runs great, however, the text seems really blurry at 1440p and I just can't figure out a way to make it better, the game still feels kind of unfinished after all this time.

Also do you think it's really impossible to make the mechanic like you described in older total war
in WH 2 ? What about WH 3 then ?

That would be sick to emulate that and should be in the base game like seriously.

Cause the a straight morale buff is just plain boring and a bit broken.

Any chance you can add this for the Wood Elf bases, as they can't get walls kek... Example you're defending the Great Tree of which is everything beloved to your people, but they start losing their shit if the tide is a bit ugly and peggit causing doom for your people.

There's no need to update anything, it works and I highly doubt it will ever be truly out of date, the same mod works for Warhammer 1 and maybe even older titles.

Would it be possible to configure this in a way to make it so only capitals or landmark settlements have unbreakable defenders? I feel like ye olde town peasants and local rabble are less likely to hold forever vs the doomstack of khorne stomping down their streets.

Yes, it's completely save-game compatible, you can install it and uninstall it anytime you want mid campaign.

@pjadtron yes, but you might need to modify your load order, however it's very easy to test if it's working. Just play a siege and check the defender's morale.

@Marky Sparky definitely a different method, but I think there is a morale penalty that applies to units on forced march, you could just edit that value and that would be it. However I can't say that I agree entirely with it, units on forced march can run away, meaning they have physical space to run and escape the enemy, but they are tired from matching so they don't make it, but any soldier would still try, at least that's what I think. But most importantly I think it would affect the balance of the game way too much, forced march is supposed to be a penalty, not a buff, it should be an easier fight than attacking a fortified army.

I agree with Kainoa25. It would be awesome to somehow mod it in that any army with a 'destroyed on defeat' condition would get the same benefits as this.
My guess is that it would involve a different method to give them that bonus than what this mod does.

great mod. Any consideration towards another one allowing for units on their last stand when marching/tunneling/retreated from first battle?

All of these cases the entire army is wiped if they lose the battle I think they may as well fight to the end instead of running and what I assume they get chased down and killed anyways.

alright, i use GCCM and it was one of those maps but it seems to have only been the one ad ive had battles on some of their other custom maps without an issue. not gamebreaking so im good. great mod btw

Hi, this mod increases the value of an existing morale buff defensive units get while inside the city, if it was applied incorrectly then it's CA's fault or some other mod you might have, any mod that has changed to morale could be the problem, most combat mods usually do that, or maybe a custom map.

Now that I think about it that morale bonus may also affect enemies too, i'll have to check, I haven't been playing and I don't think I will for a while, I'm not a fan of the latest patch.

@Heitri can you improve this system for the army that have nowere to go? Just make a battle with my dwarf army2/3 fear the fight for die, so much stupid, fight to the death cause you will be dead after !

Even if it made it so that Units were unbreakable in every capture point, I think I'd prefer that over being unbreakable on the entire map. Is there anyway you could release a version of this mod that only gave the unbreakable morale within the capture points?

I didn't found the city center to be anything different than any other capping point, I could make them unbreakable there but they would be unbreakable in other capping points too, plus the city center (and the city itself) used to be a lot bigger than it is now, you can't fit many troops in there.

Wait, so would it be possible to set the parameters for when defending units are unbreakable to only withing the capping zone?
It might not seem like such a big change to have it be a smaller area instead of the whole area behind the walls, but maybe that would mimic the feature a bit better?

Fair enough. I assumed city center was refering to the capping point, which is where they ran in my experience. I might've gotten things mixed up.

I wouldn't even know how to begin to do that, but I know it would require to edit every single siege map at the very least. I would love it if someone did it, but the feature was scrapped in Medieval 2, Shogun 2 only had unbreakable units in the top level of the castle and it worked exactly like this mod, if they routed outside of the castle or in lower levels they would run out of the map (I think it was like that? i'm not 100% sure), so probably there's nothing left of the old code that did that, which would make it even harder for modders to do it.

What do you mean it's not the case? I tested this mod and can confirm that even the skaven will fight to the last skavenslave. Which is why I had to swap to the Lite version, as spending half an hour on most sieges got drawn-out and heavy on cassulties pretty quickly.

I got kind of hyped reading about how units would retreat to the center and not rout entirely, but alas, I read the rest of the description and found that not be the case with this mod.

Kind of a shame I feel. Is it due to game coding that such a feature is hard to implement?

CA's launcher is shit, they broke it in the latest patch, then they "fixed" it but mods didn't work for me either, the old version is broken too, I use kaedrin's mod manager now, much better, that's probably the reason.

Yeah, I actually use the lite version.
