going by the name alone I was wondering if you would look into a functional good design for the HULK from eve online or something near like it and sv mining drones/combat drones to go with it?

As to the air issue... I completely re-did, what I am currently calling, the Charon-CH10 X (because it is xtra wide) and managed to get the whole ship air tight. Looks like the original back end is air tight if one, blocks the constructor holes as Octal said.

@Comic Yak @jrandall It seems the leak is somewhere in the room with the constructors at the very front of the ship. to fix it I put two airtight blocks where the gaps in the half walls are.. I think the actual leak is where the thruster is all the way at the back of that constructor room, but not 100% sure. For now the bottom deck has air (minus the constructor room). Hope that helps a little

@jrandall Your welcome, I have spent many an hour trying to track it down lol. Everything afaik tell looks green/airtight. I have even added ventilators thinking maybe the air is just not getting to it...no change.

Also been trying to get your permission to put on workshop my modified version of the Charon. Sent pictures of it to your business gmail, with a couple questions.

Thank you Cosmic Yak. I have not looked at the ship recently and did not know it had an air leak. I noticed something changed with some blocks making them not air tight anymore which has caused a few creations I made to no longer hold air. I will have to look at this. Thanks for the heads up. I debated whether to say anything on this. The cargo area is not O2 covered. This carries over into west938, Randori, and my modifications. I have spent hours trying to track it down to no avail.
My modification widens the Charon allowing for room for upgrades like grow plots and Galaxy Reforged devices...whilst basically keeping fairly true to the original design of the Charon.
Carapace-7 really make my modification(s) moot lol.

Anywho, should someone come across why the cargo area won't hold air... let me know please. (preemptive reply... yes I have used the debug "N" tools for show air tight blocks and show oxygen...any other methods have not been tried besides pulling blocks and replacing them)

Thanks draynor9. This ship was made before shields were in the game so no home was mapped out for it. However, if some of the fluff stuff was removed from the cargo area, I think a shield could be added there somehow. It has some extra space for sure but might require some modding. Thanks again!

54 farm plot potential quickly removing the esthetics of the container room. @jrandall best ship for hoarders like me. Max cargo space and nimble af ship. Make a 20+ - 320k container storage CV will ya :)

Thanks Palladin888! I guess when I was building it, I was going for just being a cargo ship and it is the only CV I made without a farm. It actually does have space for one thou. The cargo hold area basically is open for whatever if it was changed. Thanks again!

Thank you bad coffee! I didn't quite follow all of the math there, but I am not complaining :) I didn't really know the math that well, but through testing other ships loaded with cargo, depending on the weight of the cargo it is loaded with, it seemed like it could handle a lot with 4 of the biggest CV lift thrusters. I did test it with all 10 320K storage controllers loaded with elevator blocks and it got off the ground decent. So, other cargo may be heavier or lighter. Well, anyway, thanks again!

Assuming I didn't goof somewhere in the math, the max takeoff mass (1M/S^2 accel up) for this on a 1 G planet would be about 148 KT. Ship is 9.37 KT, so 138,778 tons of cargo.

That's without turning on the heavy lift mode, which doubles the thrust and raises the total takeoff mass to 296 KT.

So that's spectacular. :D

Thanks Ashrai and Fenra369! @Fenra369, I was debating on the hull material myself. I went with steel for weight mainly but also thought this is cargo ship not meant for combat unless very light. I guess I was just trying to make it fit the role. As of switching hull materials, you could go all the way to combat armor and have no thrust issues unless carrying a lot of heavy cargo at once. While asthetically pleasing.. I'm curious as to why it was built in just general steel as a military survival ship. Steel in general isn't too great for a CV, and for a ship that could see combat steel isn't going to save much of anything. Is the thrust able to support hardened steel at all?

The more I play around with this the more I like it. I just spent time trying to refurbish the pre-fab 4a and discovered that this ship is everything that one wants to be and it can not manage the cargo/storage. They should just kill the Hakon(4a) and replace it with this. :steamhappy:

Thanks Tact, Generalzoadka, Aristacah, Kakarotto, and ROMERO! @I am not sure on the MX5E. Very odd. I will check into that. Maybe a patch did something to the MX5E? IDK. I been running into issues on a lot of existing ships as of late. Little changes in the game has been making some stuff break. @Aristacah, I haven't looked this morning yet, scared now. lol. @Generalzoadka, I tried the links you listed but it says the item is not available. Looks like a carrier ship, the shots of the ship on the sun look really nice. Plus I really like some of the shapes on the front and the bridge, makes me think of some anime thing. Thanks for sharing. Regards.

Thank you D00mnoodle, Dan Bolo, PlaPanda, and Bonedog! @PlaPanda, this CV is very specialized to move lots of cargo, in fact that is all it is really for. For standard CV's that have farms, hangars, etc., the most recent ones are Cosmos-STX (starter), Carapace-C3 (Mid range). Both have decent sized hangars and some SV landing space. If you want extreme hangars and landing pads, some older ships like the Hecate Carrier and Perses Carrier have the most but do not yet have alpha 9+ storage installed however still have a lot of regular cargo box storage. Thank you bob8734, Patman, and Myrmidon :) @Myrmidon, hmm, I guess I could see that. I tested this with normal to about 1.10 gravity. The ship has only 1 generator but the largest one. For anyone looking to add more fuel and generators, the storage area actually has a fair amount of room to add these parts. In between the storage modules, there are some deco pipes on the floor going to more deco behind it. In this area there is plenty of room to add T1 or T2 generators and plenty of fuel tanks. Addition parts could also be placed in the extreme dangerous hallway near the front of the ship. Basically adding more fuel and generators should be quick and easy and not really even look out of place and room for many. Not that a storage ship like this is fuel efficient, but I did try to keep it efficient as possible for the power and storage it has. It was one of the reasons why I used the largest thrusters and generator available. Thanks again all!

Fidnings : I have tested the CV fully loaded totaling around 211kT of cargo and I found out that in planets with gravity of 1.21 and above the current power generators/fuel tanks are barely enough to help her exit the planet's gravity. I think a small improvevent in this area might help, especailly if the player needs her to move cargo for long distances inside the planet's gravity.

On the other hand this improvement can be left to the players to decide what to do and add more fuel tanks and power generators.
