For instance say a Project suggests you start with 72 Karma and bring your own gear. You can load into the Level Up mod and add that much karma, buy appropriate gear, save, and exit. Then import the freshly minted character at 72 Karma into the project you wanted to play.
You can also re-create a character you played a lot with so that the new fresh copy does not have a ton of auto-saves tied too it bloating up the save file. This will reduce your load times by quite a bit.
