The issue with this is that it looks like a riot helmet at a distance, and hampers the game readability.

Sorry Doc Riprock but that skin would not fit the riot helmet well, it would not look the same at all.
@gigertag @Yes, Daddy I think the bandit helmet and my pilot Minicopter Captain Helmet were too "similar" to be added the same week. So wait and see.

can we use an armor skin? maybe the riot helmet... since the pilot can't fire back when receiving fire. something more than the burlap headwrap.

I don't think this didn't make it in because of any quality concerns, I'm fairly positive it's because it dropped only shortly before the selection was made. I'm guessing they use the better chunk of the week or even weeks before to decide, not just a day or two.
