very interesting mod. to optimize drilling, small residues remain during drilling that are difficult to remove and potentially harmful to the ship. fixed this detail is a great and comfortable mod

I tried this on a small grid together with the defense shield mod. If I set the beam length more then the default 4 blocks, it hits the shield from inside and turns off. If remote controlled then even the connection terminates.

this mod is causing a multigriddermodule error. it only happens when you have production quota, modular encounters, and this mod enabled. Dev of production quota said his mod does not contain multigriddermodule therefore it could not be his issue. Could not find log for this issue but it spams the screen with red text.

Worked pretty good for a long while, used it on a lot of builds. But since the industrial upgrade it seems broken, at least in multiplayer, doesnt work anymore.

could we get more control over the settings ? like changing the power needed, width and height of the laser drill area etc ? i am searching for such a mod for a long time, and could use this for a recreation of a ship from another game i want to start, maybe add a "creative" version of that block that allows changing most of the settings mentioned

having an issue with it not pulling components from containers or other multi lasers that are hooked up to same conveyor system. also, having issue where laser will stop working, no visual beam, nor work being done. have to save/reload world constantly.

I came here to say what Xeno said; contrast is helpful! Having a gradiant of some kind, like a bright core to the beam, with a darker outline (like white center fading to red on the edges) helps a lot. Colorblindness sucks, but contrast is good!

Suggestion: Please do not make the beam red for any of the modes. For us colorblind folks red on black is invisible and the beam cannot be seen. Really looking forward to this mod, keep up the great work!

I'm getting an issue where the welder says no constructed inventory. there aren't any logs to provide because the game isn't seen problems. I've reconnected it many places to no avail.

build and repair mod conflicts with this mod in a way that when any build and repair blocks are on then it causes freezing every few seconds in worlds that have been played in for a while

There seems to be a 'sweet spot' of voxel hit detection, and the sweet spot seems to move. I have to move my ship in and out to get it to mine, and sometimes it'll mine a hole inside the asteroid. May or may not be related to the 'multi' setting, but turning 'multi' off seems to make it much, much worse.

Used the grind function tonight while salvaging a large ship kill. Accidentally cut the ship in half. Made me think of the Covanent laser that does that in Halo. Also it works great. The block doesn't remember it's settings, but who cares!

Please consider doing what the mod description says:

"When reporting any bug, please include the logs:

Honestly don't even know if it was your mod or not but I'll look into it more as I go, currently I am no using them as welders anymore.

Please check whether there are any entities obstructing the projection, whether it is within your block and PCU limits, and whether there are any mods and/or plugins which might interfere with projections. And of course, you shall provide logs.

Having an issue with the welders not welding the ship I have projected, no idea why. The welders fill with mat for the build but just endlessly fill up without building anything, if there is a frame it works fine.

I've got the drilling voxels turned off in the config so they are not miners. The other stuff I don't know about. I'll submit a bug report.

those lasers are nuts dude the only problem i could find is when you use it for mining, the ore will stay in the block and wont be pushed out like on normal drills, it can be solved easy by placing a sorter on its back, but sadly it messed up my little survival miner, no your awesome laser block made it to so much more ^^ great work

Thank you, I'll look into it. Anyway, you can fix it yourself by going into your Save folder and looking up the mod's config in the Storage subfolder of your save. Just search for a file called "laserweldersv2.sbc", it can be edited in Notepad (Notepad++ is recommended, though).

Latest update seems to have changed config defaults, or introduced a dug? Can't set length >4 or multiplier >1x on large grid tools anymore.
