This looks interesting, will add a lot of variety to custom content.
Kiljoy187 28 Aug, 2013 @ 4:05pm
thanks Asmodai. Noob appeased.
Asmodai  [author] 27 Aug, 2013 @ 3:46am
Killjoy, this pack is meant to be used with user generated content, it doesn't change the portraits in the main game unless you manually exchange these portraits for the stock ones

There's a quick guide here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/234650/discussions/0/864974467227721515/

Latt Ice, HBS has been activley encouraging people to use old Shadowrun material in the S:R engine. The images used are just small parts of larger books, and most of them are available online. If anyone in HBS, Catalyst or Microsoft has issues with this, I'll be glad to take this down, but up till now we've had support for stuff like this.
Kiljoy187 23 Aug, 2013 @ 9:40pm
i subscribed but cant get this one to work how about breaking it down for us noobs chummer
Latt Ice 23 Aug, 2013 @ 5:20am
I know this is one of those horrible questions that noone likes to see asked, but ..

Are there any copyright issues involved in using those images. While I dont think its likely to be much of an issue for your average modder, I definitely would not like to see HBS getting into trouble by association with us if we chose to cut corners on something like that as individuals.

Assuming there are no copyright issues, thanks for the time and effort. I'll be subscribing as soon as I am sure I wont be breaking copyright.

Forgive me but how to i integrate this into the normal SRR game? Do I just replace the current core potraits file with this one?
whosdriving_part2 20 Aug, 2013 @ 5:32pm
ok so i found the .cpz file, thanls Nao, unziped with winrar pics lock great!
Dragoon 19 Aug, 2013 @ 10:42pm
I've looked in every file I can find and I connot figure out were steam put this mod.
Blockhause 19 Aug, 2013 @ 10:03pm
What confuses people is the fact that these portraits aren't readily visible. In my own case it was posted in

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\SOMEBIGNUMBER\ugc\referenced\SOMEBIGNUMBER\contentpacks\51f84f1d313839801000002a-template portraits.cpz

That .cpz file is the one you are after. You can recognise it by the term "template portraits". Right click and unzip and you should see a new folder. If you go in you see the 61 portraits currently in the content pack.
gmVASID 19 Aug, 2013 @ 9:41pm
By the way, for anyone curious the files are in 'Steam/User Data/Somenumber/234650/Local/UGC/Somenumber'
gmVASID 19 Aug, 2013 @ 9:40pm
Thanks a lot! These are awesome! I read in one of the comments you're going to give us more, and I can't wait! Thanks again, these will really spice up my UGC characters and inspire my writing.
Asmodai  [author] 19 Aug, 2013 @ 6:40pm
Just look for say... combat_mage_2.png. They are all named after the archetypes in the books.
whosdriving_part2 19 Aug, 2013 @ 5:40pm
if you could post a complete file name of 1 of the portraits i could try to search for it
whosdriving_part2 19 Aug, 2013 @ 5:39pm
i just checked the path you sugested on pc and found only the main game data seattle dms and core my etempts at the editor are stored elsware in my docs. why dosent steam ever make anything easy, WHHYYYYY!!!! :(
Asmodai  [author] 19 Aug, 2013 @ 8:01am
Could you post the path here so i can note it for any other Mac users?
brendanbohan131 18 Aug, 2013 @ 11:50am
Got them, thanks
Asmodai  [author] 18 Aug, 2013 @ 7:52am
It's something along the lines of ContentPacks/Template Portraits/art/portraits
The names are archetype.png (adept, bodyguard, combat_mage_(edition number))
brendanbohan131 17 Aug, 2013 @ 4:45pm
Im having a hard time finding these files. Do you know what some of the file names are, and what type of files?
edubs 17 Aug, 2013 @ 4:25pm
Oh, btw, don't think there is a 'streaming assets' folder on mac.
edubs 17 Aug, 2013 @ 4:24pm
Can you give the names of one of the files? It looks like they are somewhere under User/Library/Application Support/Steam/, but there's a gazillion subdirectories. I keep coming across .cpz files, but I'm guessing they aren't it.
Asmodai  [author] 17 Aug, 2013 @ 2:43pm
Where does Steam store your files on the Mac? It's bound to have a place in there for all your games... I recommend you go digging
edubs 17 Aug, 2013 @ 2:39pm
Any idea how to do this on a mac? No idea where the files are.
Asmodai  [author] 16 Aug, 2013 @ 2:36am
Ggrrgh., Sorry for the problems, I'll try and see why it's fidgeting. For now, go into your steamapps -> Common -> Shadowrun Returns -> Streaming assets -> Content packs
You will find the pack and all the images there. I got SR5 recently so I'll add them and fix the content pack over the next few days
whosdriving_part2 15 Aug, 2013 @ 6:17pm
i can, as of the last shadowrun update accese the portraits in the editor, but i still cannot find them on my computer. thebreson i want to by the way is that the editor shows a rather shrunk and sort of distorted version of the portraits int the actor propertys and i would like a better look at them
whosdriving_part2 15 Aug, 2013 @ 5:46pm
i found the portraits that came with the game and i know how to replace them with new ones, what i cant find are your portraits
NeVeRLiFt 14 Aug, 2013 @ 10:21pm
I think you will have to find the ones you like and rename them and then copy over the ones you don't like. (backup your original's first)

Just find the ones you like, rename and replace them with the ones in your portrait folders, found here >

Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks\dead_man_switch\art\portraits

Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks\seattle\art\portraits
whosdriving_part2 14 Aug, 2013 @ 5:59pm
cant find the portraits any idea were steam puts them or a file name so i can search, cant seam to acsess them in the editor ether
