The engines are my favorite part about this design i put a lot of thought into it
1) too much crew quarters, not sure how you could use 1457 crew with base size
2) too much hangar space for my taste, I try to have max fighters (120) but when you have size 1, you don't need that much
3) poor maneuverability - I think because of the all directional thrusters
4) almost no manufacturing capability
5) cloning+academy (at least 10 each would be awesome)
I would love to update the ship with this, but I don't know how to without completely destroying it :(
oh no i think you misunderstand a bit.
all i mean is to make the matt's out of the lowest grade possible, or make a separate version of it with most system blocks replaced by "frameworks" and name it framework version. you could do this with the 'show visable blocks' tool or the 'eye' button in the build mode and then use the replacer tool to replace whatever you set to view, it is super easy and not risky at all.
(note: if you do mixed matt's between the hull and system blocks then i can understand making it as is but an early-game version i am sure would be appreciated )
also an easy way to transform to lower grade matt's that i use is the "Resize" (i think) tool and it gives you an option to change ship-wide matterial. just leave the size at 0 so it does not change (it leaves certain systems alone if they are only available in trinium or higher and you are trying to convert to iron for example :) )
the only reason i suggest it is because if i want this ship in a early game as is i then have to load up a creative game, load the ship in and then convert it there and replace system blocks with whatever i can realistically get a hold of in the early game, maybe even down scale it overall with the resize tool if the costs are too high, but is not much of an issue as i usually always resize the workshop ships i use to be much larger than intended and i resize turrets to fit the design as well so i have humunguss turrets :D
(but i can understand keeping such a magnifficent piece of art for the late game just to portray that, eyyy. i got the big balls :p and for the satisfaction of flying it around at that point using it's immense powers)
long story short, it's all up to you man i just want to help out and give suggestions to maybe make the subscribers lives easier :q :) the framework style ships are fairly popular as far as iv'e seen and for good reason. love your work and i hope you keep it up!
also if you remember, either friend me or message me on my profile when/if you get a donation thing set up anywhere! i don't mind patreon, already there for a couple things but i hear they take a fairly big cut. and i'd be fine with a single payment typa deal but i'd be happier with anything where i'd be able to just sign up and have it fund ya a couple bucks at least a month, not much but i want to help ya out if it will help overall :)
Note Note: just realized that you've built all these wonderful things so i doubt you do not know of the things i have mentioned but i'll leave it all in just in case :q also, lastly, the chunky size and details is what i like most about your designs iv'e mentioned :3 aaaaand sorry for the bible.. i have a bad habit of doing this :/

Can you even try this (http://stargate-wiki.de/wiki/Antiker-Kreuzer) to building?
