I'm wondering how the progress with the mod is going. I honestly don't know, but I'm interested in knowing- mainly because it's been a bit since this was updated (for starters, it'd be cool to know if they're planning on working on this anytime soon).

This mod removes all the pictures from the vehicle controllers :(
They end up just looking like a blown up version of the controller

Can we get a fix for this?

Anyone else having problems with Frexo mount? It will be hard to determine the issue with no error log to check :(

Hi, there's a problem when i use the frexo mount, it´s crash, without error log, i don´t lnow if this happens with the other mounts, theres a fix for that?:steamsad:

there's a problem with the Laqua, a lot of the time when i use the Thunder attack the game crashes, and says something about "elecroshock"? and it's SUPER cute and i REALLY wanna use it but we can't now, pls fix!

My mount suggestions, most wanted to least wanted:

Karoo from One Piece, the Crimson Loftwing from Skyward sword, Louie from Bomberman, the Magic Turban from Magi, A Rhyhorn from pokemon, and a Thomas from Trigun.

Love your mod, btw. The only thing that bothers me is the slight jump when changing directions while on a mount, but it's bearable. Other than that, it's a fantastic mod. :)

There was a mod around the same time Starmount was made by the same author that involved a Yellow Devil-esque transformation tech that could absorb block texture and use an attack. Any chance we can get something like that for 1.3+?

I know but actually still very grateful someone got to remaster such very old starbound days mod, and we have at least mounts which is better than nothing :D

Thats the big difference. This stuff wont work as tech anymore, it needs to be remade into vehicles. If I do transformations, it will have to be separate recipes for each transformation, using whatever materials were needed in the old mod. Some of the stuff, like the mining, may be accomplished by someone who knows more about LUA, but I am very novice at it. So best I can do for now, is use the images inside the mod to turn them into vehicles and trying to keep the attacks the best I can. Some of those don't translate well either.

but also... @projectmayhem1983, I understand if you dont get how to do this, but I thought you took the mod to remaster it, so I assume you must have the files from outdated version? or not? im not sure, just I think
PD: transformations didnt worked as vehicle since when you take damage, actually hurts your character, and there was no need to "place" it on ground to use, it was actually a tech you receive after crafting the transformation and it gets transformed by using F key (I think it was like that)

yeah, @Terenzio is alright with that too since I remember those old Starbound days when I used to play with this mod and included the transformations, each one with different firing type and element and abilities
(left click was ranged attack
right click was mine/dig, so that way you didnt need to transform back to normal to dig, and obviously the tier/levels made digging and attack more effective)
and also with each level, the species used to change appearance, getting improvements on some kind of "armor" like shown in this picture example https://community.playstarbound.com/attachments/transform_upgrades-png.114009/
I used to use the snail/slime like one :D

New update today. Finished Tier 8 mounts. Added the first two Tier 9 mounts. Added one more unique mount.. the Flying Nimbus!

Looking for suggestions on unique mounts. I want them to be from video games or anime you like, so leave a comment and let me know!

I dont know. I dont truly understand them, or think they are implementable with the vehicle system. I may try to do something with them, where you use the previously purchased mount + some DNA to get the next transformation. But it would result in ALOT of mounts, that are nearly identical.

Today's update includes 2 unique mounts. 1 for land, 1 for water. I also have 90% of walking monsters patched to drop DNA if you use the DNA Extractor.

It only worked on the randomly generated monsters at the moment. I still need to work on patching the files for EVERY monster to get them to drop DNA when killed with it. I will try to have that ready by next update

What does the DNA extractor do? Killing things with it doesnt make them drop DNA.

ok I guess it was in there to give more room for descriptions or something... so instead of having the file for base.tooltip I went ahead and renamed it to vehicle.tooltip so only the vehicle's will be effected
