I miss Gloomy :(
NATTAN 16 Sep, 2020 @ 12:20pm
@Owlchemist i see, thanks for the answer anyway and for the work u have done so far.
Owlchemist  [author] 16 Sep, 2020 @ 6:26am
@SexyNat - this mod isn't really maintained anymore aside from updating the supported version number. However, what you are asked for is "stuffed buildings" meaning they can be built out of different stuff, like wood, metal, etc. Stuffed buildings color tint to the material's color, and that tint effect can conflict with the colorful art style that gloomy was going for.
NATTAN 16 Sep, 2020 @ 2:20am
Hey @Owlchemist any chance you would be willing to patch the remaining furniture like the dresser, bookcase, and all of the kitchen cupboards so we can can use all the materials instead of only wood to build?

I love the mod, sadly i only use mods that don't change the core settings of the game. And modifying the sizes of the items affects the balance when the room quality is calculated. Smaller items = more space = better rooms.
Anyway i know i will get heat for my comment but it would be cool if the sizes remained the same for odd people like me who like to play the game as vanilla as possible but with some quality of life mods.
Thank you for your mod i still left a thumbs up, and subscribed even when i am not using it. :lunar2019coolpig:
Owlchemist  [author] 20 Apr, 2020 @ 5:47am
Solzucht this is but only a mod *for* gloomy's mod. You should ask Gloomy that, not me ;)
Solzucht 20 Apr, 2020 @ 3:36am
love the gloomy look.
any chance youd be motivated to do others for more "futuristic" furniture but in the same style? maybe a conversion of added mod content :)
Yo 26 Mar, 2020 @ 11:39pm
Is there a version that doesnt overwrite the vanilla furnitures?
SpaceGhost 26 Mar, 2020 @ 10:41am

Anyone know why my gloomy bakery doesnt have bread as an option to cook? no baked goods at all.
Semo 26 Sep, 2019 @ 4:23pm

Luinithil 13 Sep, 2019 @ 6:32am
@SpaceGhost @Owlchemist I went looking in Gloomy Vanilla's code, and it seems that RGK_Wall is in the list of things removed when Gloomy Vanilla does its patching. Would I be right that if I commented out the section dealing with RGK_Wall, that should let Gloomy Brick Wall do its patching?
SpaceGhost 8 Sep, 2019 @ 12:01pm
@owl, I'd really like to work on some small things but I'm having difficulty finding many resources such as tutorials/guides. Would you be willing to help me get started?
Owlchemist  [author] 8 Sep, 2019 @ 11:53am
Hi all - I haven't done any rimworld modding in awhile now, and I'm not current set up to. It may be awhile before I get back into it! Anyone who would like to take over this mod is free to do so, should they be feeling inspired.
SpaceGhost 8 Sep, 2019 @ 9:15am
Hi @Owlchemist. Someone made a mod that allows "gloomy bricks" and I was hoping you two could take a look at making them compatible with each other. Apparently, they're currently incompatible because they both alter the same things.
OneInchOfLove 4 Sep, 2019 @ 2:49am
May I request a standalone of the vanilla retexture? The design to the vanilla furniture is amazing and I prefer not to add more furnitures to my game or are you not allowed to?
GwenBlanketSpecter 12 Aug, 2019 @ 4:36pm
you can edit the patch file in the steam mods folder and remove where it says to remove certain things. its really simple
Kevin 12 Aug, 2019 @ 11:03am
I love this mod, but it removes so many things from Gloomy Furniture that I wish to keep (the tablecloths, teacups, flowers, barrels, cupboard, etcetera. Is there a way for me to manually add these back to the game with this mod? I see other people have requested this mod not to remove the extra furniture, but that doesn't seem to be the mod author's intention. Is there any relatively easy way for me to do it myself?
Shifter 8 Aug, 2019 @ 11:51am
Just wanted to ask, why is the butcher table so long? It doesn't combine well for me when building my kitchen or separate butcher station and kitchen, I can't put cabinets or corners with it as the textures overlap
Mistletoe The Bard 26 Jul, 2019 @ 8:14am
Anyways, I love this mod and thanks for making it.
Mistletoe The Bard 26 Jul, 2019 @ 8:13am
Thanks for the reply. What a shame this can't be happening though :/
StarlightSovereign 25 Jul, 2019 @ 12:34am
Sucks. This is such a great idea. I would love to see it all implemented this way. Thanks for this though. I'm loving the replacements I have. :)
Owlchemist  [author] 24 Jul, 2019 @ 10:10pm
They said no.
StarlightSovereign 24 Jul, 2019 @ 1:41pm
@Owlchemist as in they didn't respond to requests or they said no?
Owlchemist  [author] 24 Jul, 2019 @ 11:12am
Would if I could, but I couldn't get redistribution rights from the original mod devs to make this a standalone package.
Mistletoe The Bard 24 Jul, 2019 @ 5:32am
Is there anyway which you can make this mod works by itself? I like my building UI being clean. I really don't feel like having all those things from Gloomy Furniture mod, but this mod doesn't seems to work by itself.
StarlightSovereign 17 Jul, 2019 @ 11:20pm
This is AWESOME
I would totally agree with everyone asking you to return the rest of the material from the original mod. We don't have to use it if we don't like it. :)
And Please add more in this style! You've nailed it and I would totally like all the vanilla furniture to match! Bravo!
thewanderingoutsider 4 Jun, 2019 @ 3:19am
I really like this gloomy expansion! I hope you're able to come up with other gloomy type textures for other things like the electric smithy, machining table etc.
Koshechka-Ninja 23 May, 2019 @ 3:05am
yeah, I'd also prefer to have all vanilla stuff replaced with gloomy things but still have all gloomy content like teddy bears and cups (they're super lovely)
Eclipse 23 May, 2019 @ 2:57am
Could you please create an another version with all gloomy furniture stuff (like teddy bears, tea cups and other) but with replacing of vanilla furniture and without new tabs?
I really like all of the gloomy things, but i don't want to clutter my lists with ugly vanilla furniture.
60trainhunter 19 May, 2019 @ 11:55am
love the Gloomy sewing machine but noticed you can not make regular Human Clothes for your Human Colonists that recently joined your "Ratkins!"
Drawer 10 May, 2019 @ 2:05am
@Olwchemist Would be possible to make the exterior lamps being turn off during the day? Just the oposite to sun lamps. It could be quite useful in combination with windows

Also, another question, from Gloomy Furniture, only one of the two bed texture is used?
Revan111295 30 Apr, 2019 @ 1:21pm
Cheers works like a charm. :)
STIEMI 29 Apr, 2019 @ 1:26pm
thx it works now
Owlchemist  [author] 27 Apr, 2019 @ 1:33pm
Sorry about that folks. A specific mod configuration was causing this. It should be fixed now.
Revan111295 27 Apr, 2019 @ 9:01am
Hi, I think last patch broke textures for (Replaced with vanilla textures): the stove, smithy, tailors bench. Everything else seems fine, or it may be something wrong with my game it was fine last night and no new mods were insatlled.
STIEMI 27 Apr, 2019 @ 8:04am
Hi,

after your Last Patch i get this Error Meassage:

[Gloomy Vanilla] Patch operation Verse.PatchOperationFindMod(GloomyFurniture) failed
file: E:\Games\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\1697864590\Patches\Vanilla.xml

An idea of what is wrong?
I unsubscribe and subscribe your Mod but the issue stay.
Oddworld86 27 Apr, 2019 @ 5:47am
Normal you're already doing a lot
Owlchemist  [author] 27 Apr, 2019 @ 2:32am
I'm kinda weary doing any patching for HCSK considering that there is not even a v1 release for it yet, though.
Oddworld86 27 Apr, 2019 @ 2:29am
The components are nails and simple metal parts as I understood.
Oddworld86 27 Apr, 2019 @ 2:23am
yes i can believe you lol. If you want I can submit proposals to you considering the general harmony of HCSK? A priori the simplest, in my opinion it would be to change the requirement of "steel" by "components" / 2 and rounded to the lower decimal. And I think that's also true for the mod "soft beds".
Owlchemist  [author] 26 Apr, 2019 @ 5:20pm
Update: applied some newfound knowledge on patching techniques to improve loading performance.

@Oddworld, I'll have to look into it. HCSK is quite a beast to patch for, lol.
Oddworld86 26 Apr, 2019 @ 11:36am
Hi Owlchemist,

Could you patch your mod by changing the "steel", by "components", as costlist for HCSK users? Thank you
