A turban would be extremely useful, so that a Sikh warrior can be added to diversify the pool. If you are willing or, if not, anyone reading this who is looking for ideas - this has been a long-missed thing.

How about a hijab+helmet combo? That would make everyone happy.

For those who get mad at these sorts of mods it technically makes sense from a realism standpoint, as some military groups do still wear religious headwear, even in battle.

interesting fact, btw, the traditional Headscarf is actually known as a "Khimar."

it's just that "Hijab" (Arabic for "Modesty") came into common use as slang for them, though it's also used as the term for proper muslim attire.

It's insane to me that XCOM doesn't have any headscarves naturally. Countries like Indonesia, which is nearly 90% Islamic, are available at the start but we can't make women who look like it?! Good work, here.

It's a simple mod but pretty cool. I like it.

@Advocated: especially since most morons who do that assume "Hijabs are a symbol of oppression"... and are unaware wearing a Hijab or Niqab is purely by choice for the VAST majority of Muslim women (Sunni Muslims happen to be 90-95% of Islam's roughly 2 billion strong population, it's the Shia who tend to get a bug up their asses about it).

for a good example of this? Look at women in the Jordanian armed forces, including the Princesses from the Royal family (at least one serves as a Brigadier-General). All Muslims, not necessarily all wearing Hijabs.

@Stink: as far as i know, that actually hasn't happened here. but then, XCOM players are pretty chill race, Religion, whatever-wise. I mean, we ARE people who lead multi-national paramilitary resistance groups who take anyone willing to fight the good fight.

and if it has... it's pretty much just been islamophobic asshats being dealt with how they deserve. no great loss.

@Cookie: interestingly enough, you can pull off a Niqab fairly well comboing this with the tintable Bandana (what i did with my Samurai gal from Qatar). makes her a proper Desert Dervish ;)

This is cool to see! I've been using the vanilla Shemagh Scarf as a sort of placeholder since the game launched

I'll keep an eye out. Since I'm not too good in terms of modeling myself all I can really do is use other models, generally from other games.

Yeah I'll subscribe to this. It's definitely a good start and I'm hoping to see more like this. Anything that makes it easier to distinguish between my soldiers.

@Archangel: it's good for middle eastern troopers. I have a Qatari Samurai i've actually been waiting for these with (i've been using Tali's hood thusfar).

thing to remember is wearing a Hijab is actually a personal choice for about 95% of Muslim women. mean, hell, look at women who converted to it in the US or Canada.

If you know a game that has the sort of headgear you're looking for, feel free to suggest it and I'll see how possible it is to port
