I made it to step 3, but I can't find this 'project.cpack' file he's referring to. I don't know where I'm supposed to put these portraits.
Aranwen1 11 Mar, 2022 @ 10:41pm
is there a way to use these in the main game without overwriting one of the default portraits?
Pentazer 11 Mar, 2017 @ 11:21am
This doesn't seem to work, there are also 4 project.cpack locations. putting it in the core shadow run returns location doesn't work.
Adreankael 3 Feb, 2017 @ 4:16am
To get this to work I had to start the game after subscribing, quite the game, locate the file 520fc00839373138210061b4-sr5_profiles.cpz which was (for me) located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(userID)\ugc\234650\referenced\(realy long string of numbers)\contentpacks\. Finally found it after about 10 minutes of searching for the file which is not a zip file but a .CPZ file. Renamed the file extension as .Zip and extracted it that way. Now to copy it over and see if it works.

Doesn't work. Instructions do not work.
Daemon  [author] 21 Sep, 2016 @ 5:40am
@Emperor Akuji The number string is your unique user id number. It's different for everyone, so I don't know what the numbers will be for you.
Emperor Akuji 20 Sep, 2016 @ 3:40pm
What is the number string?
michaelpesak47 22 Oct, 2014 @ 10:10pm
anyone else think you should be able to add them without renaming or editing existing ones. you know, like you can in Baldur's Gate? Just saying
Haalia 29 Jul, 2014 @ 2:36am
@peoples who were trying to use these portraits in their main game, a quick fix: Dump these portraits into your \Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks\seattle\art\portraits or wherever you installed to, and then *rename* one of the existing PC portraits into the one you want.

At first I tried naming the portraits following the game's naming conventions, but just increasing the number, but that didn't work. Renaming it over a portrait I didn't want to use did work though, so yay. There's probably a way to edit the associated \data\portraits file to make the game recognize new portraits, so I'll post if I figure that out.
Noctropolitan 4 Jul, 2014 @ 5:19am
No sr5_portraits file for me... :(
Caped Baldy 29 Jun, 2014 @ 7:21pm
So I merged the two art folders, but it doesn't show up in game. Do we have to rename the images or something? Or have I missed one spot where I need to put it in. I've merged the art folder in berlin, seattle, and core.
Theodolus 25 Jun, 2014 @ 2:31pm
In your user_id folder do a search for sr5_p and you should find it. It wasn't in the given location for me, but I was able to find it using the search function.
StarWolf 22 Jun, 2014 @ 9:20am
I'm running Windows7... I was able to find my local folder easily enough, but it is, as far as I can tell, completely empty. No ugc subfolder. I have "view hidden files" turned on. Did I miss something?
Ben W. 27 May, 2014 @ 9:37pm
@Russel, use CMD + SHFT + G from the finder to go to your folder ~/Library/application support (invisible by default). You'll find the steam folder under Application Support. From there, the folder will be in the same relative location as for Windows.
Khaz 23 May, 2014 @ 1:49pm
Installed as per instructions above, exactly.

Portraits do not appear.
Desu Vult 19 May, 2014 @ 11:34pm
Gungriffen 28 Dec, 2013 @ 11:50am
Ok I have tried everything I can think of over 8 Hours, I have changed it to Zip, Unzipped it, dropped all the PNG directly into the folders, deleted all the numbers, changed the PNG names to PC to coincide with the default pics, placed it Seatle, Dead Man Switch, and Core. I have placed it in ContentPacks unziped, I have placed it in Content Packs in Local AppData I have gone hte whole nine yard plus a reload and have nothing. WHat I'm I doing wrong? Is their a special way to reload the module?

I pretty much did the same thing Gungriffen did, and the portraits aren't working. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Otherwise I took a look at the portraits, thanks for the pack, Daemon!
russol 27 Apr, 2014 @ 2:52am
How do I install this on a Mac? The folder described doesn't exsist...the only Shadowrun folder is Shadowrun Returns in Docs and only has an empty ContentPacks folder inside...help would be much appriciated!
kingbuu 13 Feb, 2014 @ 8:53am

Haibane 19 Jan, 2014 @ 10:33am
Did everything listed here but don't have any new portraits...

DiscoVivaldi 18 Jan, 2014 @ 1:06pm
Add this mod to Nexus also. I have a DRM-free copy and I want to play/use some mods too!
HubHikari 7 Jan, 2014 @ 9:41pm
Got it. CPZ is a CPIO-compressed UNIX file. 7zip can open it.
HubHikari 7 Jan, 2014 @ 2:48pm
I can't seem to find the file. I have something named 520fc00839373138210061b4-sr5_profiles.cpz in the filepath D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\26571973\234650\local\ugc\170374029\contentpacks, but I can't interact with it. What do?
Daemon  [author] 4 Jan, 2014 @ 9:55am
@Fist: To the SR5 books and the original artists.
BovineLord 3 Jan, 2014 @ 11:42pm
Now do I give credit to the books you took these from, or were you asking me to give you credit for content that isn't yours?
Haibane 2 Jan, 2014 @ 7:24am
There's no such folder as 234650\Local there is only "remote"
Achyl3s 2 Jan, 2014 @ 6:28am
very nice, good job, thx
Mildow 2 Jan, 2014 @ 3:25am

Thanks!

I agree, not a very user friendly install. Would love to use these but am not able to unzip the file after finding it.
Gungriffen 27 Dec, 2013 @ 7:50pm

Thanks :)
Daemon  [author] 23 Dec, 2013 @ 8:31am
@Sange & Yasha: If you want to use them for Dead Man Switch, you have to add them to the default portrait folder which can be found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Shadowrun Returns\Shadowrun_Data\StreamingAssets\ContentPacks\seattle\art\portraits or wherever you added your game download to.
Aenur, Sword of Twilight 22 Dec, 2013 @ 12:42pm
Hello Daemon. I have found your wonderfull contet pack but cant use the pics for my character. Is there i way i have the picks available for character creation? Ty
Daemon  [author] 21 Dec, 2013 @ 9:40pm
@Jackdaw: Correct. It's only a data file. Not an addon.
Sparetime Gamer 13 Dec, 2013 @ 5:21pm
i dont get it :( oh wait....so its data only and not a fullblown "addon"?
Daemon  [author] 11 Dec, 2013 @ 4:00pm
@Jackdaw: The folder isn't called "modules main folder" it's the main folder that is created when you make your module.
Sparetime Gamer 10 Dec, 2013 @ 1:10pm
tried everything but your files wont work. dunno maybe ur playing it not on pc because i dont have any folders that are named "modules main folder" or stuff. im a little sad because your profile pics are way better than the normal ones.
Sparetime Gamer 10 Dec, 2013 @ 12:54pm
the folder is empty...says what? :(
Daemon  [author] 7 Dec, 2013 @ 5:59am
@Keyboard Cat a.k.a. Battle Cat... if that IS in fact your real name... ;) : No problem. Hopefully that'll help with anyone else who hasn't been able to get it from here as well.
Cosmic Cat 7 Dec, 2013 @ 2:35am
Thank you Daemon :D:
Daemon  [author] 6 Dec, 2013 @ 8:34pm
@Battle Cat: I'm sorry you're having issues. I've uploaded it to a server so you can have a direct download link for it. http://daemon213.1freeserver.com/SR5_Portraits.zip Hope that works for you.
Cosmic Cat 1 Dec, 2013 @ 7:03am
Hello! Sorry for a newb-question - but I can't find the file in my ugc folder as stated above in the instructions. I also tried downloading it off your site, but the free download never starts after you click it.
NoxMagnus 8 Nov, 2013 @ 10:35am
I've pasted it into my Dead Mans Switch folder will I hae to do this again with other modules?
Daemon  [author] 7 Nov, 2013 @ 10:29pm
@CatCraine: Glad I could help! I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Make sure to send me a link when you publish it.
RustyRaven 7 Nov, 2013 @ 10:02am
@Daemon: Thanks man they look even better now that I have 'em in singles. These are exactly what I was looking for!
Daemon  [author] 6 Nov, 2013 @ 3:35pm
@CatCraine: I'm glad you like them. You can find a zip file at http://jackpointdarknet.wordpress.com/2013/08/16/shadowrun-fifth-edition-portraits/ It's the first link above the mirrors.
RustyRaven 4 Nov, 2013 @ 5:28am
Hey Daemon
Major thumbs up, these are really cool, but I was wondering if I could get a .rar file with the portraits? Big favor I know, but it would be fantastic as it would help me greatly with one of my Shadowrun projects.
Dark Seere 30 Aug, 2013 @ 10:32pm
that is true and i think bows would be a good edition as it could have diffrent status effects applied to the arrows or many more creative and less... well standard. or just a reskin of a pistol. wouldent mind seeing a monster hunter style reskin with shotguns being gun lances... pistols being bows... and assualt rifles and smgs being diffrent cannon types.... na just going on off a rant now.
Daemon  [author] 30 Aug, 2013 @ 9:11pm
@Dark Seere: I know there's no bows in the game, but who knows, maybe one day. I just included it because it was a good character portrait and it was in the SR5 book. Though just because there are not actual bows in the game, that doesn't mean someone can't use GM text to say the character does. Just won't show up in the actual game graphics.
