@leyshade, where is that fix and how aggressive are chosen with that fix. Also can you include wraith of the chosen in it. I am not crazy enough to do that, but I want to be ready if a stray streamer is asking for dumb dares.

Question, would it be possible to combine this mod with better chosen. I like the way better chosen tries to follow the thematics of original wotc, where they hang back and sabotage the player, just a bit more effectively, while still having that boss fight element when you finally spot them.


Actually it be really awesome if their was a few options in how aggressive chosen were, so you can have them hang back like normal, advance full throttle, only advance when you engage a pod, or try to cover a pod.

@sick duck firing shredstorm, blaster bombs, grenades from range to get it within a Reaper's Banish has been my go to strategy. I also use my psi soldiers to stasis it - it buys time to deal with the rest of the pod, reposition everyone into full cover or out of sight, and then pummel the mechapede with sniper fire. @ReshiKillim I don't know if the mechapede is bugged but if I deal too much damage to it, it OH-KO's one of my soldiers regardless of how much armor, HP and shielding it has (Endgame Samurai with 9 shield, 9 armor and 28 HP). I read the abilities and there seems to be nothing that should be able to do that.

I went looking for tips on destroying the mechapede after someone blamed Reshi for its design and I found nothing with google. The thing is a menace and I'd rather fight a whole trio of sectopods than one mechapede.

@luis.junkeira - Add us to friends list then prompt us regularly. Our health suffered in the last couple of years and we forget what we're doing for a few weeks/months at a time, needing care to help us day-to-day at times, but happy top ship it over if reminded to upload it alongside the AML update.

Does the Assassin do a lot of...standing still for anyone else? Like she will attack and perform abilities, and she certainly moves *sometimes* but it seems like she's pretty content to stay put and perform those attacks even when enemies are moving to surround her

@Gibbons For a variety of reasons, but mainly, making a big monolithic mod was becoming increasingly hard and tiring to focus on each part when you've got a massive number of things that could each be an individual, more cohesively built mod, and it was burning me out with how much I wanted to implement all at once.

Also, that's genuinely very surprising on the compat. Currently, I'm slowly working on breaking down and expanding on the things I was working on for that mod as separate mods, but life tends to get in the way of things.

Not gonna lie, your requiem for man mod was way better. It was somehow more compatible with my 300+ mods and it made it a lot more challenging going after chosen strongholds. Might just drop all these individual mods and go back to that even if it’s a dead mod. Why’d you give up on that anyway?

Nevermind i figured out how to do it, by adding the tier 3 and 4 Psionic weapons in the place of the lower tiers. i was able to add them to the early game warlock. I'll just say that here just in case anyone else is deciding to amp up the game at a regrettable level like i am XD

Is there a way to edit the files so that some of the higher tier abilities show up early tier Chosen? Because i do tend to beat the game or make it near the end by the time the Chosen hit tier 3. It would be neat to have them with these stronger abilities a bit early to pose more of a challenge. Because i don't see them use their abilities very often. I might already figure out where to change it if you can. But i would be greatful to know which file to edit (if it can be edited)

Because i was thinking of lowering the tiers for Null Lance and Dimensional rift for the Warlock because i feel like pressuring myself XD

Thank you very much for the author's mod. It makes my game not as boring as the anti-alien drama. However, I still hope to make it more difficult, so can I ask the author if it can be used with the mod that modifies the weapon damage or weapon ability of the chosen one?

@ScriptGenius12 Sort of, but not directly out of the box. I haven't tested it myself, but you'd probably need to combine the AI trees from the two mods into one, which can be done with some ini editing.

Combine this with A Better Chosen and Ruler Reactions is a literal nightmare(however i tweak how often Ruler's react. They got a 50% chance to react to shooting or actions like Overwatch. But nothing on movement (because ruler action on all movements is actually pretty broken)

And let me just say The Warlock at level 4 with Dimensional Rift is a monster. Never have i ever had a Total Party Wipeout in just one move from the Warlock. If you want to beef up the Chosen this mod is definitely one to add to the collection.

I love this mod a LOT and overall love how lethal and terrifying it makes the Chosen, but the one big problem I have with it is the same thing I am seeing others say; with his new AI, the Hunter goes so aggro that he basically never uses his trademark rifle. I think I have seen him take a single rifle shot in the entire 200+ hours I have been using this mod. If there was some way to address this, it would be awesome.

@Frizzeldian12 It's not compatible with Better Chosen AI, this is a standalone mod that shouldn't be used together with other mods that modify Chosen AI or Abilities.

Hunter just does NOT like to use his Hunter Rifle i feel like. Hit one of my guys from squadsight range with his pistol. (might not have been squad sight but it was pretty far away.)

I just noticed the hunter's AI in it's activated (out of combat) state, seem to allmost never use the tracking shot ablitity with his sniper. Is that intentional

So far this mod has finally made the chosen a real threat and a reason to warrant them being the formidable enemies that warrant the Elder's trust.

My only concern is that now they seem completely uninterested in capturing soldiers to find the commander. I believe that this should still be their primary objective.

I think it's great they decimate the squad, but they should still try to kidnap soldiers.

I don't if it worked the same way in base WOTC. but Chosen a completely immune to psionic stasis or flashbangs. It reduces the tactical possibilities in the fight. The only way to deal with them is to go for full damage and kill afap.

I asked ABA author about compability with this mod. It should be fine since ABA has only marginaly effect. And moreover I checked ABA config files, there is no Chosen changes in the AI behavior part.
Currently I play ABA + A Harder War, and the Assasin is super dangerous at low levels prefering not to simply run in overwatch trap, but flanks&shoots with the shotgun and uses sword only to finish injured soldiers.

The limited understanding I have about config files and a quick search didn't show anything related to Chosens in the AI file, so... Wish me luck.
