Curious - does starting a new campaign fix the issue?
@horsepowerYT
Thank you for reporting !
@Inerael
Decent number of bugs associated with it - no plans at this time
Sorry for the discrepancies folks. I've put at warning at the top of the description
1. Create a character in the pool, select their soldier type as Templar. Download the "Use My Class" mod to force the character to spawn as the class.
2. Start a new campaign with the "Templar Ally" advanced option enabled.
3. Finish Gatecrasher, or use the "Quicker Start" mod to skip it.
4. Select the character in the armoury, they should have the regular Templar pose; load up the first mission and they should have the correct animations for the Autopistol when they attack.
Oh, it's official! I see, thanks for the reply!
Good question - I think I found that on google from firaxis' WOTC release photos, haha
Glad to hear, thanks for the positive feedback
@Sevro
Yeah, it's a completely independent class - so any interactions you would anticipate with the existing Templars would not automatically be applied here.
Appreciate that!
Not intended, sounds like something is off with the class rolls. Try using 'Use My Class' mod
@Ole Hockey Thighs, Ronin
Yeah, sorry for the animation confusion! Sounds like there's still some kinks to be addressed.
There might be some room for tweaking to make the game turn your character into a psi operative for a split second then into a Templar. The issue may also lie in having a Templar before you make contact with the faction so a protocol may have to be put in place to prevent rookies from turning into them until you have made contact with the faction.
I hope some of this helps someone at least.
Thanks, I apologize that those specific animations have issues. I've made a note to warn subscribers in the description
No plans to update but yeah that'll be the exact fix. Glad it worked out.
My recruited Templars not only have an invisible pistol, but they and all the other recruited Templars don't have the ability to shoot their pistol, just use Overwatch. And furthermore, no matter how high the hit chance is, I have NEVER hit a target with a recruited Templar pistol shot. Even as high as 80% or 90% on Veteran difficulty.
Sorry folks, looks like these animations require a revisit.
But for those of us who can't look past this animation issue I just recommend making actual full on Templars in character pool till this can get sorted out, and I hope it can this is a very nice mod!
Try this out as well - I believe it does some magic to auto pistol animations:

Thank you, it did only partially, as now it is ok in the menu, but in battle characters still fail to get the gun in their hands and fire from their knees!

Try this, let me know if this works
The gauntlet itself would also need to be made secondary
Yep, exactly. Glad to hear it works well otherwise.

On Tactical or Strategy layer?
