I do see the warning above, but am curious if the auto-pistol firing is the only issue with this mod?
RhyzzG 31 Mar, 2024 @ 12:17pm
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2405138536 I casually leave this here for anyone who wants to fix there templars stances. This works with soldiers that have been promoted to templar so preloading is no longer needed.
NightNinja54  [author] 9 Jan, 2024 @ 7:29am
@Soulwisher
Curious - does starting a new campaign fix the issue?

@horsepowerYT
Thank you for reporting !

@Inerael
Decent number of bugs associated with it - no plans at this time
SoulWisher 19 Dec, 2023 @ 1:20pm
So I removed this mod from the game but now when I promote a solider it won't give them any Class & it leaves it blanked. I've started new games without it but it keeps happening. I need help changing the files back to how they were before I put the mod in. If anyone can help me with that please do cause of right now I can't play the game
horsepowerYT 18 Oct, 2023 @ 8:23am
Here's another one for you to add on the bug list, Mental Focus no longer works for trained Templars. The ones given to you be the faction only start with the 1 focus. Bye~
Inerael 10 Apr, 2023 @ 10:31am
will it be possible to remove the gun ?
Reuz 16 Feb, 2023 @ 9:06am
The fix from Raven Frostborn does work.
NightNinja54  [author] 24 Jan, 2023 @ 7:26pm
@All
Sorry for the discrepancies folks. I've put at warning at the top of the description
Stolas 4 Jan, 2023 @ 11:11am
Is their gun mean't to be firing from their holster when using the pistols on this? Cause when I use Pistol, they don't actually shoot from the pistol, but it ends up shooting the bullets from their holstered gun lol.
Inerael 5 Dec, 2022 @ 7:40am
is this still working ?...
Raven Frostborn 5 Dec, 2022 @ 3:33am
I spent some time experimenting to try finding a fix and I think I've found a way to get the animations working properly, but only if you load a character from the pool; promoting someone to the Templar class still results in the invisible weapon but this way you can workaround the persistent issue. I'm not fully certain of the process but I've managed to replicate a Templar character that works normally twice. This is what I did:

1. Create a character in the pool, select their soldier type as Templar. Download the "Use My Class" mod to force the character to spawn as the class.
2. Start a new campaign with the "Templar Ally" advanced option enabled.
3. Finish Gatecrasher, or use the "Quicker Start" mod to skip it.
4. Select the character in the armoury, they should have the regular Templar pose; load up the first mission and they should have the correct animations for the Autopistol when they attack.

Thank you for your work, the mod collection is very good and works as intended! Unfortunately the invisible gun for Templars is a deal breaker for me, I can't get past how it looks. I've also noticed that unsubscribing from the mod doesn't resolve the issue, all of my Templar units seem to be permanently affected by the bug and verifying file integrity hasn't helped; if you've got any idea of how to fix this I'd greatly appreciate the help!

@NightNinja54
Oh, it's official! I see, thanks for the reply!
NightNinja54  [author] 14 Aug, 2022 @ 1:15pm
@Badgerette
Good question - I think I found that on google from firaxis' WOTC release photos, haha
-Badgerette!- 10 Aug, 2022 @ 11:17am
Hi there, thanks for your hard work on this mod! I was curious to know if that first in-game pic is one of your Templar's from the mod using Iridar's one-handed Templar mod?
NightNinja54  [author] 26 Jul, 2022 @ 11:40am
@Tombstone
Glad to hear, thanks for the positive feedback

@Sevro
Yeah, it's a completely independent class - so any interactions you would anticipate with the existing Templars would not automatically be applied here.
Tombstone 25 Jul, 2022 @ 3:04pm
I gotta say after getting these mods to play nicely with Long War of the Chosen, these have improved my overall experience with game. I'd honestly recommend this mod to anyone looking into WOTC modding.
Sevro ᓵᒷ 23 Jul, 2022 @ 3:51am
i think i found a problem, so i was playing with a mod that changed the abilities of the templars as well as "I'm the commander here" and i tried turning a new rookie into one, but when they finished and i went to look at their abilities, i noticed some were missing and i couldn't give them Reaper, Fortress or any other abilities reapers could get, And also, their reaper emblem was different from that of the one already in my barracks. I saw that in the promotion screen the word "Templar" didn't show up and there was also an extra ability mentioning templar training, so im guessing the reason why might be because the mod makes an entirely separate class that just has all the templar abilities instead of just turning the soldiers into actual, pre-existing templars?
NightNinja54  [author] 4 Jul, 2022 @ 11:29am
@PsychoPotato
Appreciate that!
PsychoPotato 26 Jun, 2022 @ 6:20am
Yeah there are animation issues but this is still a great mod! Looking forward to the day everything will be perfect! :D
NightNinja54  [author] 22 Jun, 2022 @ 9:03am
@DC I Dare You
Not intended, sounds like something is off with the class rolls. Try using 'Use My Class' mod

@Ole Hockey Thighs, Ronin
Yeah, sorry for the animation confusion! Sounds like there's still some kinks to be addressed.
Kitsune 29 May, 2022 @ 8:39pm
So I am unsure if I have just been super lucky or if something is wrong with the mod. I got all three of the faction mods and was expecting for the classes to show up either equally as the base classes or much rarer. Instead ALL promotions I have gotten so far have been faction classes. unsure if that is intended or can be changed...
Ole Hockey Thighs 13 May, 2022 @ 4:59am
So I partially found a work around for the armory issue. They still appear to be holding an imaginary firearm but using console commands and turning them into a Psi Operative then back to a Templar at least gave them a shield and the Templar sword things and also removed the permanent pistol from their hip. ***NOTE this will revert them to Squadie rank if they are higher.

There might be some room for tweaking to make the game turn your character into a psi operative for a split second then into a Templar. The issue may also lie in having a Templar before you make contact with the faction so a protocol may have to be put in place to prevent rookies from turning into them until you have made contact with the faction.

I hope some of this helps someone at least. :brotherfist:
Ronin 12 May, 2022 @ 9:42am
when my unit will got to a templar they holding a weapon but like a rifle but there is nothing in there hand does anybody know a fix?
NightNinja54  [author] 10 Apr, 2022 @ 6:13am
@Syonide, @ChibiHuragok
Thanks, I apologize that those specific animations have issues. I've made a note to warn subscribers in the description
Talisman 9 Apr, 2022 @ 1:44pm
Mod is great! Just need to fix the menu pose and pistol animations, pretty much the same as other people
Syonide 2 Mar, 2022 @ 6:55pm
This is a brilliant mod, I loved it and it's contemporaries! I look forward to the animation fixes with the pistols and stances, but that aside it's brilliant!
NightNinja54  [author] 23 Dec, 2021 @ 9:39am
@killjoint666
No plans to update but yeah that'll be the exact fix. Glad it worked out.
killjoint666 20 Dec, 2021 @ 11:09am
Okay, so I was playing around with it, and I basically what I did was I took the Templar skill tree from the Class Data in LWOTC and copied it to this mod. Worked perfectly. So if anyone wants play LWOTC with these and wants 8 tiers, that's the way to do it.
killjoint666 18 Dec, 2021 @ 6:24am
I'm playing LWOTC. Are there any plans on making this an 8 tier class?
EvilNecroid 26 Sep, 2021 @ 3:45am
ok so im not the only 1 with a gun stuck to my ass
RobbyL9 15 Sep, 2021 @ 6:51am
Well... Looks like I came to the right mod.

My recruited Templars not only have an invisible pistol, but they and all the other recruited Templars don't have the ability to shoot their pistol, just use Overwatch. And furthermore, no matter how high the hit chance is, I have NEVER hit a target with a recruited Templar pistol shot. Even as high as 80% or 90% on Veteran difficulty.
NightNinja54  [author] 17 Aug, 2021 @ 5:29pm
@Dank_Ansem, ajhammack9007, minionwarcrime, Gutvald, Zarkil
Sorry folks, looks like these animations require a revisit.
Zarkil 17 Aug, 2021 @ 4:43am
Are the visual psi effects, absorbing energy on kill or lightning sparking around your body when you have focus, working for anyone? Using rpgo with all templar abilities active. Thanks!
Gutvald 14 May, 2021 @ 3:04am
Same here, my created templar has the stance of a normal soldier with invisible gun.
Goose 6 Apr, 2021 @ 11:44am
Any templars I recruit with this mod hold an invisible rifle and wield it like a pistol.
ajhammack9007 10 Mar, 2021 @ 12:18pm
Sadly I'm in the same boat as Dark_ansem is. I made a templar with this mod and although they work fine for the most part the gun seems to be super glued to their thigh/knee region. Otherwise this mod works as intended.

But for those of us who can't look past this animation issue I just recommend making actual full on Templars in character pool till this can get sorted out, and I hope it can this is a very nice mod!
Dark_Ansem 8 Mar, 2021 @ 12:35pm
Sadly it didn't help. But I think it did fix some animations - would changes be visible if loading a mid-battle save?
Dark_Ansem 8 Mar, 2021 @ 6:05am
Thank you, I'll try in a second
NightNinja54  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 4:22pm
@Dark_Ansem
Try this out as well - I believe it does some magic to auto pistol animations:
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513282047&searchtext=autopistol
Dark_Ansem 7 Mar, 2021 @ 3:21pm
@nightninja54
Thank you, it did only partially, as now it is ok in the menu, but in battle characters still fail to get the gun in their hands and fire from their knees!
NightNinja54  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 1:37pm
Dark_Ansem 7 Mar, 2021 @ 11:09am
I still get the bugged animation alas.
Rawmark001 17 Feb, 2021 @ 10:07pm
Forgot to unsubscribe from the depreciated mod didn't know if that fixed it or not but it seems to work now.
NightNinja54  [author] 17 Feb, 2021 @ 9:35pm
@Rawmark001
The gauntlet itself would also need to be made secondary
Rawmark001 17 Feb, 2021 @ 12:54am
Any chance I could still have the bullpup as a primary and the Gauntlet as the secondary? Like before the update? Changing the ClassData didn't work as the gauntlet doesn't appear in the secondaries.
NightNinja54  [author] 15 Feb, 2021 @ 1:20pm
@Cav
Yep, exactly. Glad to hear it works well otherwise.
Cav 15 Feb, 2021 @ 10:56am
Hey, just picked up the mod, works great. Pretty much the only issue is the animations in the prep screen, as others have said. I believe it's due to the trained soldiers using the vanilla stances (behaviors?) instead of the templar unique stance. In combat of course they work as intended.
NightNinja54  [author] 13 Feb, 2021 @ 9:32am
@Darsen-91
"TemplarRecruit"

@American Waifu
On Tactical or Strategy layer?
Darsen-91 11 Feb, 2021 @ 9:39am
Which is the name-code of this class? I'm adding a pistol slot to all classes (there's a mod) but it not works with these 3 "recruitable class mod", because maybe you have create a new class with the same feature of the originals. So, which is the name of these (reaper, templar, skirmish) classes?
