@nukeassassin4 can confirm, not working on my spartan either.
I am a bit late to the party, but does anyone have a fix or know if a fix is coming?
Nukeassassin4 1. jan. 2022 kl. 17:34
hey so, I don't think the Knights 'first three attacks are free" works with things like spartan training and other perks that makes it so your attacks aren't turn ending. This may explain Aoykov's problem as well. Further testing is probably needed, but I am posting now as a heads up.
boelzebub32 8. sep. 2021 kl. 0:41
You‘re right - the OP thing with free melee and movement is understandable ;-)
I had the intention to combine Knight and Samurai class with a primary melee weapon for one unique soldier in my current campaign.
I‘ll keep an eye out for the mod you mentioned.
Thanks again :D

Also, so glad you're enjoying it!

I know years ago there was a mod with several melee weapons that did different things. I just spent awhile looking for it and couldn't find it sadly. One of the weaker melee weapons allowed you to do a blue melee action "Lightning Slash" for free like every 3 turns which worked really well with the Knight. Maybe someone else remembers which mod it is..?
Respect  [ophavsmand] 7. sep. 2021 kl. 5:25
@boelzebub: Yes, that's by design. "Slash" should work, I believe (that's an ability to attack an adjacent enemy for 1 AP). Moving and then slashing made the Knight overpowered in my opinion.

In the other versions, like LW2, there's an ability that makes the first fleche (move & melee) refund. But I removed it from RPGO because it was OP with other builds as a standalone ability. Movement is so key in XCOM.
boelzebub32 7. sep. 2021 kl. 1:08
Thank you for this mod - I think it‘s awesome!

Only one question: Is it intended for the knight class that melee attacks aren‘t included in those 3 free actions?
Respect  [ophavsmand] 10. juni 2021 kl. 11:55
@Aoykav, that sucks! Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Aoykav 10. juni 2021 kl. 6:52
my knights arent getting there first 3 actions free? i dont have any mods that should conflict with it nor any other perks that effect actions/free actions?
Respect  [ophavsmand] 21. juli 2020 kl. 8:16
Are you asking about perks other than those three at Corporal Rank?
Perks from Sergeant to Brigadier can be given to any soldier without decreasing their aim.
On Mouse-over, the yellow (?) on each perk should give you all information for each perk.
Hope that answers your question, if not feel free to ask again differently.
Kasinovuh Kovuh 20. juli 2020 kl. 16:45
Yea, but when using the RPGO i have a perk i can put a point into respective to the class. you have to send them on missions to get them points to spend on the perk.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 12. juli 2020 kl. 14:27
So Knights are meant to be deployed Solo. Bishops with 1 other Bishop. And Rooks with 2 other Rooks. Otherwise, you will notice decreased stats.
Kasinovuh Kovuh 12. juli 2020 kl. 9:03
Does sending knights along with other people count against them before they get the knight perk? right now i have a Knight with irregular and crisis nano training and need to level her up to get knight.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 23. juni 2020 kl. 18:01
@CyberConnect2chan Thanks for figuring that out! I'll add it to the description above. Sorry you ran into that issue.
The Empress 21. juni 2020 kl. 9:33
Okay, figured it out. I respecced the soldier, it was probably Bloodlust.
So, don't take these 2 together I guess
The Empress 21. juni 2020 kl. 8:41
I have an issue with blackmail. It gives concealment as stated, but for some reason it breaks right after it's applied. Any ideas what might cause that? Cannon as weapon or the Bloodlust perk are my main suspects and I'll probably try changing both
Arum 10. juni 2020 kl. 5:59
good to know, i do indeed have that mod as well but wasn't aware of that ability i'll be sure to try that out :lunar2020ratinablanket:.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 10. juni 2020 kl. 4:57
@strandedsnake You're fortunate! Just released is a mod with an ability that makes your next Psi Ability a free action! And it's balanced (reduces will): See this Mod's Psionic Conduit ability
Respect  [ophavsmand] 10. juni 2020 kl. 4:50
@strandedsnake That sounds like fun! The Knight just wasn't designed to use mostly Psionic abilities mostly due to balance, since Psionic abilities ignore cover and the main "difficulty" with a Knight is having to maneuver to still have a shot while not dying.
I'd like it if I'd had time to implement a balanced approach to every potential playstyle, but with so many it was an issue of time.
Arum 8. juni 2020 kl. 22:13
question, is it intentional that psionic attack abilities don't count towards knight perk? like soulfire and et cetera, i was planning on using the knight to do a solo psionic character which just uses psionic powers.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 18. jan. 2020 kl. 4:28
Sorry to hear that Vel Ten. I've seen that happen with the auto reload at end of turn mod; it's likely due to another mod being in conflict with this one.
Vel Ten 17. jan. 2020 kl. 17:52
Not sure why, but my Knight can only attack once per turn.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 17. okt. 2019 kl. 5:50
That's very odd. I haven't had this happen yet. Not sure what I can do about it.
. 16. okt. 2019 kl. 20:20
I think something is wrong with that adjacent panic thing. Sometimes aliens get panic when they see my soldier, no matter how far away they are .
Respect  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2019 kl. 13:45
Sorry to hear that . Not sure why it does that.
. 15. okt. 2019 kl. 18:15
I'm not sure but it seems devour keep revealing my soldier.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2019 kl. 22:37
There's no way to revert teh signal at this point officer.
willchance 13. sep. 2019 kl. 3:06
Is there any way to reverse the aim loss? I was on a base diffence mission, didn't include a single rook/bishop/knight, and bradford forced them on, now I have unlabled aim negatives on all my troops
PogChamp 10. juli 2019 kl. 16:07
Sweet. Thanks.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 10. juli 2019 kl. 9:42
@PogChamp, No. Only the first abilities in each rows labeled Knight, Bishop, Rook give aim loss. You're good to go giving any of their other perks to any soldier -- no aim loss.
PogChamp 7. juli 2019 kl. 0:48
If I mix and match perks from the different classes trees, will they result in aim penalties still? Like giving my Bishops knight/rook abilities.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 5. juni 2019 kl. 4:34
You can download the XCOM 2 DEVELOPMENT TOOLS under Library --> Tools, if you desire to make this change. You'll need to do the getting started setup and probably join the discord channel to get started: https://discordapp.com/channels/165245941664710656/165245941664710656
All you have to do is add the code as a sub-perk to any passive perk ability. Like Knight Operative does.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 5. juni 2019 kl. 4:30
Only if you have the 40+ GB udk, as it's coded in .uc with the actual perks under the Knight Abilities.
Master Chief 4. juni 2019 kl. 19:08
@Shining One What i meant was can i code it on another class (I know there is only one class in RPGO but i'm using the Super soldiers modpack).
Master Chief 4. juni 2019 kl. 15:25
@Shining One If you meant having the knight put his/her mind shield on another soldier, that's not what i meant.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 4. juni 2019 kl. 15:14
Nope, it's "like" a mindshield in that its the same code, but it's implemented separately as the Knights own special power. Rather than explaining all the mindshield does, I just said solo operative has their own mindshield.
Master Chief 4. juni 2019 kl. 14:51
@Shining One Is there a way to put the knights mind shield on another soldier?
Master Chief 4. juni 2019 kl. 3:58
@Matanza_ECU I believe that your soldiers would GAIN aim if you did that.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 26. maj 2019 kl. 11:45
I really appreciate your feedback Cypress! Glad it's been fun! So I'm working on a whole video game now. I expect it will take a couple years to complete as I'm making it alone primarily. It's not turn-based but it is tactical.
Cypress, Master Spy of IKEA 24. maj 2019 kl. 19:19
Just wanted to say: this is one of my personal favorites class trees available. I consider it more of a (for lack of a better term) meta tree than other stuff like Akimbo or Grimy's classes; but I love it to bits. It's really fun having wildly overpowered soldiers that still struggle and have to use proper thinking to get through due to personnel constraints. It took me over 40 minutes to do one mission because I was fighting shit like Muton Elites and the likes, even with three of my absolute best guys, and it was a ton of fun the entire time. It was tense and exciting.

Thumbs up from me, I look forward to what you make next.

It's done! The Final Countdown was difficult to beat in under 35 minutes even with a wildly overpowered Knight! Check out the full video here! https://youtu.be/aEiYCNaz4cQ

Good question. The penalties are per Knight, Bishop, or Rook.

So sending 1 Bishop has half the Bishop penalty.

Sending 1 Rook has 1/3 of the Rook penalty.
Matanza_ECU 25. apr. 2019 kl. 13:14
what if I sent 1 Rook or 1 Bishop with other universal soldiers to a mission, will there be a penalty again? not trio rooks or duo of bishops, just single of them
Silly Serpent 23. apr. 2019 kl. 8:15
@Shining One Aha, I'll keep that in mind if the Avenger gets shot down again. When it happened in my recent playthrough it was a Bishop that got deployed later, so I temporarily disabled the penalties in the config then got back in the game and reloaded a quicksave before she actually showed up.

Anyhow, I'm considering going for some Bishop related achievements this week for the fun of it since they're the first I went for. To be recorded on video of course.
Respect  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2019 kl. 7:08
@Sir Serigala So for now (and maybe forever), I don't have a way to change who gets picked for Avenger Defense Missions, however there is something you can do...

Since Aim loss from Knights Bishops and Rooks is only calculated once at Mission Start, when you have an Avenger Defense Mission send your Knight in first -- then when later soldiers enter the battle their aim *shouldn't* be changed. Also, Hero characters have high AP, so you can give them aim stat back if you want to deploy them with your Knight.

If all of your soldiers are Knights, Bishops, and Rooks (like my current playthrough) you'll still run into trouble each time a new soldier appears, but as long as they aren't Knights the aim loss is halved or less.

As a matter of fact, sending a bishop or rook on a mission without another bishop or rook, will increase that soldier's aim. You can see my earlier comment under STEP 3, that has the code for aim change at start per soldier being K, B, or R.
Silly Serpent 22. apr. 2019 kl. 16:19
@Shining One, No problem and thanks :)
Respect  [ophavsmand] 22. apr. 2019 kl. 16:10
@Sir Serigala, Thank you for mentioning this, and I'm glad you're enjoying the mod. I hadn't considered Avenger Defense missions. I'll look into it.
Silly Serpent 22. apr. 2019 kl. 15:25
I'm really liking this idea, even with the penalties. Went through a mission with a pair of Bishops and it was really challenging but ultimately satisfying. But is there a way to exclude them from Avenger Defense missions? Although, that sounds like it could be its own mod—being able to choose who appears as reinforcement instead of descending through the ranks.

@Mashed Sweetened Chestnut Fella, Hey man, I just released a pretty big perk tweaking update. It will have reset your ini files, just wanted to let you know! You can see all of the changes in the Updates discussion or in this mod's description.
