You should be moving a bunch of .car files from the one folder to the other.
Finally, if it's one particular vehicle, let Xylon know which one it is, so he can either send it to me or fix it.
On a side note, Xylon, perhaps you should turn this into a premade car mod. I think it's easier for people to use that way. But then again, it's more work to pair it with other mods.
1) Subscribe to this mod.
2) Since this isn't a standard mod, the game's Settings Editor will not move it to the game's mod location.
3) Find the SteamLibrary\SteamApps\workshop\content\ folder on your mac. That's where Steam download workshop files.
4) Locate the mod in folders here, I think it might be 285110 (the game's steam id).
5) Follow Xylon's directions and copy the files into the install folder(GearCity.app)/Resources/GearCity/SavedCars folder ( http://wiki.gearcity.info/doku.php?id=troubleshooting:steam_installfolder )
But remember, its not a mod to "install". Just the saved carfiles to download.
But I miss the xml, wich is on my old HD.
So there are two possibilities:
1. I transfer all needed datas from my old system to my new one to update this mod
2. I will make a new mod with all the new designs
But I am so lazy these days. :-(
Cant say when I will do it but it will come.
As Eric said most or all of the cars are allready in the game and even a few more.
That reminds me to look at my backup datas. Afew month ago my HD crashed and I bought a new PC. I think I have not sended all my finished designs to you. And I should also update this "Mod".
2 Advices:
1. Every saved cardesign is attached to a particular type of car (coupe, pickup, sedan and so on).
2. Every cardesign is based on a body that becomes available on a fixed date.
You can get the info when and for wich cartype a cardesign is available from the name of the carfile. As examble: "Limousine_35erSilverGhost.car" is a cardesign for a limousine and should be available around 1935. When you are now design a limousine in 1935 chose customize instead of predesign and there is a button "Load Vehicle".
I hope this is helpfull.
I am glad you are like them.
Thanks for your hard work
What does that mean and what does it have to do with the mod?
Anyway if it works the way it is and the players can use the designs its fine. As I said I will send you many (or all) of the designs anyway and than they will be in the game as predesigns.
+You can use just one mod at the same time no?
I have added instructions to the description.
It seems its not a typical mod, its just the carfiles. Maybe I did something wrong, I dont know.
So far the downloaded carfiles are @ D:\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\285110\1713337685
Harddrive depends where your Steam is installed ofc.
There should be the folder "XylonDesigncars1900-1950" with the predesigned Carfiles in it.
I guess you can at them to your folder D:\Steam\steamapps\common\GearCity\GearCity\SavedCars to use them as saved carfiles
or to your folder
D:\Steam\steamapps\common\GearCity\media\PredesignedCars to use them as predesigns.
I recommend to use them in your savedcarsfolder.
I hope that works. Let me know if so, so I can update the moddescription with the instruction.
