@F4bulous when I played the hidden deck 13 hours ago, hidden and not hidden deck worked differently.

But the author is right, reverting the changes for now may be for the better until a solution is found.

yeah I see.... maybe reverting the changes would be better
F4bulous 12 Apr, 2020 @ 12:48pm
oh God, didn't know this would be hard to implement xD
BTW the hidden deck is working exactly like the not-hidden deck ATM

I guess scripting will work but I may have to introduce some sort of *flip* button to do it... dammit and I don't even remotely know scripting, crab gatta lern script crab

What we need is something that lets the owner of the hand see the front side, while other players only see the back side. But I don't know if it is possible to change how the "hand" area works or if a custom hand area needs to be scripted.

oh what, sh.. well then I have to figure out what to do next

The see-able cardback sadly is pointless, when it always stays on the dark side when in the hand.

Updated xD

It would be nice to have at least the option to play like in the Ubisoft game!
It changes a little bit in how you play the game since you kind of know what cards your opponent will have at some point, it can be fun to play like this sometimes.

Do you really need a see-able cardback? if yes i might update it xD
F4bulous 9 Apr, 2020 @ 10:10am
Hope to see an updated version then! But in any case, so far this is the best UNO Flip workshop for Tabletop :p
Thanks!

I have asked my friends who own the DLC and they replied me that the back of the decks are not randomized. They are pre-randomized and each card has a fixed dark-side assigned to it. I was thinking about making a version of the game that plays with randomly assigned card back but I have 0 to null scripting skills... Maybe I'll have to learn it someday? Oh boi it's been a year! Seems like my dedication is merely a joke then XD

That is true, in the trailer they seem to be trying to somewhat hide the back of the card, but they end up showing the front of it xD
I think this wasn't on purpose tho.
About the DLC of the Ubisoft game, i didn't fiddle too much with the settings when i played, but i definitely could see the back of my friends' cards, and they weren't randomized, since we would make strategies with the cards we could see of each other so we could win faster!
There must be some gameplay of it on Youtube where the player goes to the DLC's settings or something if you are interested.

Well that's the trailer I've been talking about, as you can see they have tilted their cards towards the table, so anybody wouldn't really see the back of the card unless they really take some effort... Also can you tell if the official UNO Flip! DLC provides a randomized cardback?
星云子/杏仁子  [author] 8 Apr, 2020 @ 5:11am
Well then, lemme see....
F4bulous 7 Apr, 2020 @ 6:16pm
Well, i've played the official UNO Flip DLC in the Ubisoft UNO game and i've seen this trailer from Mattel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Vw10HfdcM) , so far i didn't see anyone covering the back of the cards
Where is this official video that you have seen?
星云子/杏仁子  [author] 6 Apr, 2020 @ 6:08am
...which is an intended behavior added by myself lol, I added the logo to prevent cardback x-raying since in real-life you have to conceal the back too(as shown in their official video)
F4bulous 5 Apr, 2020 @ 6:38pm
really good! only thing missing is to show the back of the card when it is set to 'hidden'
right now it shows the "UNO FLIP" logo
