Yep -- they added it to the game, so this one is pretty much useless.

It sounds to me like later versions of the game (v1.1?) added an Inspired Taming event. Right? Does that mean that this mod is mostly irrelevant now?

This should be compatible with No Self Tame, right? (This mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1451978348)
I think this would be a neat alternative to the self-taming vanilla event

A toast to you! :cleancake:

Thank you! And yes I am absolutely still coasting on the delight of having it added, especially since the vanilla version works the way I wanted mine to originally. xD

Thank you for your mod! It was great to have before 1.1, and seeing it ascend to Vanillalhalla is glorious. Well done!

It's now vanilla! Tynan added an official taming inspiration to 1.1, and it works much better -- it's what I wanted this mod to be, but didn't have the coding knowledge to do.

So, this mod is now officially obsolete, and won't be updated!

Since you mentioned you were interested in making an instant tame version, you may want to look at the Taming Artifact mod, which has a similar effect. Perhaps the creator of that mod may be willing to offer some advice?

Thanks for this mod.

Compatible with modded animals?

*still makes me angery*

Eh, it's not like it's a competition, or he's somehow taking something away from mine by linking to his. I don't mind at all.

advertisement in other peoples mods? yeah okay.

thanks for the info,
yup i only recently started modding and only know the basics so far. (actually, if you like jazz hands, you might like this mod "judge dredd" :)

finally, really want as many mods that deal with inspirations as possible. The vanilla is well balanced but boring! Instant tame if you can get that to work would you please make it a into another inspiration so this mod would bring two new inspirations to the game. Instant and 24 hour boost!

hot damn

I wanted to make it a one-time instant-tame, similar to the recruit inspiration, but there isn't a way to do it without c#, which is beyond my abilities. So, it's just a massive boost to your pawn's taming skill that lasts 24 hours. The short time is to make up for the ridiculously high value. And, like any other inspiration, you might not have a chance to use it, just like getting the recruit inspiration when you have no prisoners. It's up to the RNG.

there are also a bunch of mods (like haul for me, hunt for me, kill for me) which add even more training steps to animals, up to 9 i think (and with the minions mod, you can equip them with weapons too lol), so in my current game, i have tons of training to do (more than i can actually do)

if theres any way to add a feature to allow multiple stages of training for the same animal (before the inspiration expires) that could be cool :)

just imaging the scene from The Matrix where he says "i know kung-fu"....
and in this case, "i know how to train minions" and he fully trains up all the training stages for 1 single animal :lunar2019piginablanket:

can i check if this is a "keep using it, until the time runs out" effect, or is this a 1-time only (and then the inspiration is used up) like vanilla ones?
DahBakon 25 Apr, 2019 @ 3:39am
downloaded and think it's perfectly balanced and vanilla friendly. it makes sense that you wouldn't always have an animals nearby that you want to tame/is hard to tame and so sometimes the event goes to waste or you use it on a muffalo or something but that just how life rolls.
fatburner 24 Apr, 2019 @ 10:36am
imio the inspiration should last longer. if you are lucky enough to get it, you also have to be lucky enough that a rare/hard to tame animal is around. This is not always the case. So it would be better if the inspiration lasted longer otherwise it will be wasted most of the time im afraid.
fatburner 21 Apr, 2019 @ 6:06am
surprised this isnt in the base game. it seems like a more relevant inspiration than some of the others.
