we are wroking on 2 giant mods that bring the older TES games to the Skyrim engine (morrowind and oblivion). we are currently looking for more modders to join the team and we need people who have experience with 3dsmax and can rig we also need freehand artists who can paint using psd templates. we currently could use allot of help with clothing and armor and you seem to have experience with that :)
if you are interested you can contact me on youtube: www.youtube.com/rebelzize or checkout www.morroblivion.com its our website and you'll be able to find allot of info there.

Okay, that's my two-cents so I'll go back to my corner now... stay out of my shed!! ;-}
If you don't add the Nerevarine perk, the ring will still kill your character (who would not then be the Nerevarine) as soon as you put it on. You will now get a message when you put on the ring, saying "You are not the Nerevarine, and must die!" and you will be killed straight away.
It's also possible to reverse-pickpocket or give the ring to a follower - and if they decide to wear the ring then they would suffer the same fate!
"there is one occurrence of referring to the Nerevarine as "Dragon-born" in The Lost Prophecies, but as the text itself explains, it's metaphorical about being from Imperial-owned lands, not a literal explanation."
In any case, I've since updated my version of the mod to allow both possibilities - the latest version allows you to add a "Nerevarine" perk which allows you to roleplay as the Nerevarine, giving you the lore-appropriate resist disease 100% ("neigher blight nor age shall harm him"). You can also wear the Moon-And-Star, gaining 10% fortify speech. (The original version in Morrowind gave 5% speechcraft and 5% personality).
Only the true Nerevarine should be able to wear the ring, and all false pretenders should be killed immediately. Your character in Skyrim is NOT the Nerevarine and should not be able to wear the ring. I've simply added a script to the ring so when worn it will kill your character immediately. Hence my mod is for nostalgic purposes only (or making some quick cash - you can pick up the ring, just not wear it).
The ring in my version can be found in a secure strongbox (expert lock level) at the Shrine of Azura.

Seeing all this great work of yours here is really awesome. If you are interested you might want to come and take a look at a Mod that tries to rebuild ALL of Morrowind. I'm not in the position to speak for everyone but your work would 100% be appreciated. We are quite a few people and in preproduction phase right now, means we are making models, discussing lore etc.
Just come over, take a look around and maybe sign up and contribute some of your excellent work to our project, if you like.
I hope we see you around :)

(Of course everyone else, who reads this, is as welcome as SightEffect :)
Well, the Nerevarine is immortal, and did disappear after Morrowind, and the Dragonborn did turn up in Skyrim with no explanation of their past...
Well, unless the dragonborn is the nerivarine, but that would make no @$#% sense.
Read the description. This isn't supposed to be a lore friendly mod. It's a resource for other modders. That's why sticking to lore wasn't my goal. I already know of one modder who's using this model in a project. He made some changes to Moon and Star to make it lore friendly. Check out this short vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YE12OBMHv9U&feature=youtube_gdata
Next time, please read the description before calling my mod a fail.
@BrainDonkey Thanks for featuring my mod:) Glad you like it!
Added this info to the description.
