Production wise I am beginning to be hopeful that the GBR release might be ready by Christmas (conscious that such proclamations made before have led to disappointment), but of course this isn't a firm release timeline and is subject to change.
Fun fact - so far alone there are over 15000 lines of code/scripting to create the decisions for the GBR content alone.
While officially Sudan was part of a British-Egyptian administration this was entirely a legal fiction. There was little official Egyptian presence. As a result most functions in Sudan were effectively operated as a British colony, but were operated through the foreign office rather than the colonial office to maintain the fiction.
Secondly - The name is quite long and frequently became illegible on the map when Sudan was invaded. As a result calling Sudan "British Sudan" both assisted game play recognition and reflected actual historical nuance. The flag is entirely my own creation based on the usual ensign combined with the Sudanese government emblem from the 1950s.
The reason Egypt is not a Dominion is due to game play reasons. Egypt only joined the war in 1945 but its territory was fought over throughout the desert war. Hoi4 mechanics can't reflect this without game breaking results.
Regarding the state modifier, that is admittedly something which was not meant to be released yet so I have done a quick patch to tuck it away until the whole release is completed.
And I have a question: How to remove "lingering impact of the great depression" from states in British Isles?
The 2nd reason is that it makes them more interesting to play as (it's hard to make a Gambia play through exciting) and it simplifies the coding requirements.
Plus - it helps maintain game balance too, which in the long run is probably more enjoyable.
As always, I hope you enjoy the content and If you find any errors or bugs then please let me know where they are.
