I really wanna use this with your other space themed mods so I can have my game look like Starcraft
But with AK I'm also working on adding those new terrains to each of my packs.
Therefore I can't give you an exact time frame for each mod.
Right now I'm still planning on getting them all up to date within this year.
Thanks in advance
And with the upgrade to the new steam workshop system (coming in the near future, I just have to upgrade some more, so it takes some time) I will also update the terrains content wise (which didn't work before).
There are several objects left I would want to change at some time (cliffs for example and all flowers and stuff), but there were that much requests for other stuff and AoM, that I just didn't find the time to work on them for now.
And for replacing units is one of the most time consuming things in AoE, I don't think there'll be a replacement for them.
I thought about using some units out of Star Wars - Galactic Battlefront, but it doesn't work when using flying units for AoE only has seperate shadows for buildings. So shadows of flying units would be part of the unit in AoE and therefore overlap with other objects just like the unit itself...
For a whole si-fi mod I really would need a team.
But this started more or less to 'relax', to do something different and to show what's possible.
In case some people would do some of the still missing parts, this would be great, but I don't want this to become a real 'project' - at least not with me beeing involved.
This would destroy the relaxed part of it.
Even my list of soundtrack requests - which is nothing more than a list of requests I'm working at - feels a bit like 'work' now.
Just from the amount of requests.
For this list it's ok, but I don't want more work/obligation than that.
There are enough (not exactly here) dead mod projects out there. We don't need another one.
And yes, for they use the same engine (wasn't it a different studio that developed SW GB?), using the graphics is relatively easy.
But as the game uses different terrain/civ counts a different ressource and unit-shadow system and such, you have to have a look on what you can use in what case without changes in game mechanic... And I don't want to just recreate SW GB in AoE. If that game has cool graphics for a specific part I want to do, I'll take them, but not just for using SW GB graphics.
And the idea was to do something with AoE, not to play another game. ;)
This way, beside doing some 'different' modding stuff, you can play one game but it feels like you want it to. You can play on steam with all your friends using the same game, but actually change the theme/feel of it.
But the 'special trees' - that can be placed in the Editor as Tree A-L, have seperate graphics.
Thought they deserve a recognizable different shape. So they all use different colored graphics out of Age of Wonders 2.
The terrains are definatelly made by me.
I know it's a bit uncommon this way, and there are a lot of graphics left to be changed as well, but I'm working on it.
