I *think* this mod was causing my crash when a blood bottle is put in a bottle emptier or bottle drainer

Can confirm blood randomly appears below beds, specifically the Cot. It's only appeared in my Barracks room with cots, and only with 1 of 2 cots in there, the one closest to a Pneumatic Door. The room is 9x4 tiles, 36 tiles total. I don't know if it can appear under different circumstances like not being in a Barracks, will see.

I've noticed I'm getting blood in random places with this mod, even when dupes don't appear to be losing any health. There's consistently pools of blood in the bedroom areas. No critters around either. Have you had this problem?

How about a machine that can drain blood? Along with a blood electrolyzer that makes polluted oxygen. Animals can be drained for blood with a machine along with dupes. You can attach a body to a blood drainer if you dont feel like draining live dupes.

Probably mentioned before but how about blood in the drinking fountain can turn dupes Vampiric?

The idea of dupes accidentally becoming a vampire and unknowingly draining other dupes at night appeals to my sense of humour! hehe

could you add a blood altar to this mod where dupes can sacrifice critters to there god so they may get a possible random chance for a buff or trait improvement.

Due to changes in the ElementLoader made in the "Recreation" update, This Mod no longer functions.

HOWEVER, I have patched it.

in ElementLoader.CS Line 19 reads as:

var elementCollection = YamlIO.Parse<ElementLoader.ElementEntryCollection>(BloodElement.CONFIG, "ElementLoader.cs");

Replace it with these 2 lines:

var Loader = Klei.FileSystem.FindFileHandle(Path.GetFileName("ElementLoader.cs"));

var elementCollection = YamlIO.Parse<ElementLoader.ElementEntryCollection>(BloodElement.CONFIG, Loader);


You will also need to add :

Using.System.io;

Viola!

I take NO credit for this, ALL credit for this mod goes to Heinermann.

I simply patched it to work because I REALLY wanted it :D

It is up to Heinermann to patch and recompile the mod.

Here's a suggestion for you:
When something takes damage, it only drops half of what is its current blood amount, while the other half is doubled up and turns into Blood Mist that will eventually dissipate.

Blood Mist is unbreathable. Every second, one percent of it dissipates, with half being blood and half being oxygen produced, with a total of the mass lost being produced. Every minute, sixty percent of it dissipates, with 2/3 being blood and 1/3 being oxygen produced, with a total of the mass lost being produced. After it has been 10 minutes, it all dissipates, with 75% being blood and 25% being oxygen produced, with a total of the mass lost being produced.

Blood Mist also helps Zombie Spores spread, while Blood helps both Zombie Spores and Food Poisoning spread, while also killing Floral Scents.

According to the internet the blood boiling point would probably be more like 100.1 if you take salt into consideration so the difference isn't really noticeable. I don't plan on making a blood electrolyzer because blood comes in very low quantities. I'm considering making a rule for the water sieve though.

so i can make my dupes drink recodested blood from the brothers and sisters or from space dino's and make there bed art machines masage table out of blood and even make them breath blood wow thats gross

It bleeds based on the amount of damage you do. I think the amount is a ratio I came up with between humans and duplicants' HP and mass.

Hey, what if for each health point lost 0.1 kg of blood came out (unless it works similarly already, I don't really see variation based on damage dealt in one hit though)?

I had an idea because of this...

Zombies!

The idea is that the virus transports via bodily fluids, and causes dupes to go crazy and want to bite others for 3 damage and infect them.

Wouldn't blood induce the "Soggy Feet" and "Sopping Wet" debuffs because it's a liquid? That sounds troublesome.

Also will things that lose health to reason besides combat spawn blood (i.e. Scalding, suffocation...)?

I ask because i use some dupes as prisoners to run on hamster wheels and be fed the crappiest food and stress out so they vomit and give the colony water. Eventually they die from one reason or another. Usually, not through injury. It would be nice to get one last resource from them.

When dupes die from suffocation or starvation do they cause blood to spawn? They dont lose health except to go from 100 to 0 via death so I'm not sure.
