The way categories are set up, by the way, this probably will affect such surgeries and there's not much I can do this end. DE surgeries might be able to do a compatibility patch
Sometimes DE surgeries is weird/stuff appears and disappears for modded animals and races, I wonder whether xenobionic patcher might be messing with it as before (like a few days ago) I could "cure" brain scars on my fighter animals but now seemingly I can't which is quite frankly bullshit when armoured attack rancors breed so slowly.
This mod doesn't *remove* any categories from penox - it's still in the Drugs category, so I would think it still works, but who knows.
Updted, and thanks Penguin :)
It's actually vanilla behavior.

If you read over some of the example tutorials (to get an idea of what a mod looks like) and then use this mod as a template, you can probably manage!
Download this mod (from github), edit About/About to change the name (important ;p ), and in the Patches directory, change Penoxycyline to whatever the defName for ibuprofen is.
Put the mod folder in your Game's Mods folder.
Load the new mod after VGPGM. And heck, upload it to steam as an add-on mod.
...so yes, it is a medicine, and it's kind of silly imo that this mod is even necessary. But it is, so. Yeah. lol
