Thanks Geze. I suspected as much, it's a pity the game mechanics don't function as sophisticated as that. It would be cool if the owners of the shops could live in the apartments above.

Nope. Game doesn't have mixed use mechanics, so it's commercial only. Maybe in the future I will reupload them second time as different type, but as for now I try to balance out new uploads between Residential and Commercial. I should also try to make some offices and industrial buildings.

Just as a technical game question, these are designated as commercial, but do they function as living space for the populace also?

Bricks were used from around 1920s and on, mostly for social housing. They went well with the decorative nature of Art Nouveau, but were also cheaper to make than limestone that is mostly present in Haussmannian houses.

wonderful thank you. is there a reason why a brick facade would have been chosen over a stone one like the rest of the haussmann style buildings?
