Trying out another collection and advise given there is to do a fresh install of all the mods.
Go to unsubscribe to all mods on the steam workshop. Then come back here and subscribe to all from this collection.
You now should have no other mods apart from in this collection. By fresh installing you insure to get the updated versions of the mods, as they don't always update fresh. Saying that some of the mods in the collection have not been updated in a while, and the author of this collection has not been troubleshooting the issues raised, i.e. Fog Isles.


Also some of the mods are not in the order as laid out in the 'load order guide'. This guide is based off the load order that the game reads as it was developed to.

@ COOLVIBRATIONS - RE: The 2 files that fail to validate.
1 Is the load order file, mod.cfg
When you validate, it resets your load order to zero.
The other 1 I am not sure about.
I read before someone mentioning that it is a game issue.
If you keep validating the game you will constantly get the message 1 file failed to validate and that it will add it. But it seems to not add it.
You will get 2 files failed the 1st time validating because of the load order file needing to be blank. The game includes this file(mod.cfg) in validation, and a new install has this blank.

Been away for a few weeks, now back for another play through.
I see Timesplitter hasn't managed to solve the issue with Mongrel, i.e. which mod is causing game breaking crashes.
I see some of the mods are now abandoned, although that doesn't mean they do not work, they just will not be further updated. Due to the large amount of mods in the collection, and the possible minor bugs with some of them, culminating in game breaking issues when combined together I will start to make a new load order.

Hopefully Timesplitter or another wise trouble-shooter can resolve which mods should be dropped or tweaked, as I do love this collection.

so i legitimately don't have the goddamn time to fix these issues myself but i've tried everything short of re-ordering my entire load order, but something in this modpack is fucked beyond all repair. I have a specific new game i want to start in mongrel, but it doesnt matter what i do because the game will either A: crash immediately upon doing anything or B: crash after i load the save. Furthermore when i launch the game or when it crashes it deletes 2 files, which always fail to validate after i verify my game cache. unless somebody can throw me the name of the mod thats causing this then i give up on kenshi for now. this shits pissing me off and ive already wasted half my weekend trying to fix it.

More combat will cause issues with any modded race, potentially including ctds. It directly conflicts with military craft, as both do the same thing.

As for mongrel, verify your game files, theres probably a corrupted or missing asset trying to load

I'm having a similar issue with Fog Islands, especially around Mongrel. I'm currently trying to leave Mongrel by loading in and moving for about 3 seconds at a time before saving, because it CTDs every <5 seconds. Oh also I have ALL the graphics settings reduced to their bare minimum and/or turned off.

I am using More combat animations and I have NOT gotten frequent crashing due to the following

1. More Combat Animations recent update removed some animations that caused crashes:
granted what few crashes that happened were due to Huge fights but that brings me to next point

2. turning down all the view when distant settings and setting graphics lower: Kenshi can be clunky and large amounts of things being processed can cause it to struggle, the mods in this collection can add to that strain

3.please use the load order guide MajorSkakker posted: all of these mods work, the posted load order does lead to issues and I strongly urge the linked guide to tweak the mod order; granted if 1 and 2 solve your issues and you dont feel 3 is need then that's fine; but I have noticed on my end that changing the order helped a lot.

Also I've reading More Combat Animation comments and many are saying that this mod makes the game unstable, anyone can confirm this?

Just new armor mods, nothing else really, also the SW gate is where I CTD most of the time, related also when the fogmen start to attack the settlement or when they are killed. Other thing, I heve seen a heavy GPU spike in my task manager whenever I crash, I don't know if this has something to do

BTW @Tony93 - Are you using other mods not on this list?

I have been reluctant to report it here, as I do.
But I have seen others before mention increased crashes in this area, Fog Islands/Dreggs
I know there is a lot spawning in, but I think Vain would be more RAM and CPU intensive due to the rain, Beak nests, Gorillo nests, trader caravans and hive villages etc.

Also Tony from which direction are you trying to enter the fog islands?

I am also having many crashes at the fog islands.
Seems to happen more from the SW entrance.
Once I made it to the gate of Mongrel, then it crashed.
Only way I can get to Mongrel is from the NE (Obedience)
Still many crashes but not as bad as SW from the Dreggs.

I normally play with max squad size, max npc's, max nests.
But even when i put all them to 1, I still keep crashing there.

Seems there is a conflict effecting this. Noticed others post the same issue in the Fogs and Dreggs.

Xplosive, go to page 12 of the Comments Section here. You will see a post on the reason why and also how I organized this Mod Collection. In short, my focus was on organizing the mods based on what loads in the game world first and what alters the gamer world as it prgoresses.

I wasn't having this problem before.
I uninstalled the game a while back making space on my SSD, but now its redownloaded I'm not sure of the correct order i had Gen-Mod and another 20 mods not from your collection in.

Not sure if its the order is wrong, or an update to one of the mods has caused this issue.
I also saw you had 2 or 3 more mods in the collection when i came back.

I got instructions from the mod author of Military Craft(fight animations) on how to add the animations. Although Gen-Mod has a compatibility patch so it should work. May need to drop the compatibility patch and mod Gen-Mod to be compatible myself.

If that fails I will have to drop Gen-Mod as you suggest.

Sigmar Heldenhammer, thank you for your Recommendation. I will be working on a performance boost optional patch for this Mod Collection soon. There are quite a few Performance Boost mods that will work perfectly with this collection. For now, I recommend trying a few out on your own using Import and post here your news on if the mod works / bugs you encountered using the mod.

MajorSkakker, you have the right idea why I do not use Gen Mod. After reading the comments, bugs section, and thoroughly looking through this Mod Collection List, I have pretty much added more or replaced with more balanced features than Gen Mod could have added all on it's own. Also Gen Mod makes good changes with some of the most terrible changes as well. Some of the changes made by Gen Mod, as stated in the comments section, are completely unbalanced, or ruin immersion, and I intend to keep this game as Immersive as possible.

MajorSkakker, I did not experience the issue you're having, though the faster combat animation mod does make some higher skilled NPC's attack so fast that you barely see any animation. Also Gen Mod and any additions made by Gen Mod are not compatable with this Mod Collection.

Alzafan, Fog Islands are full of NPC's usually, and I have not made a performance friendly patch yet with many of the mods already created by authors for performance boost. I do not experience any crashes there, though you might want to lower your maximum view distance if you keep experiencing crashes.

My bad, just noticed Gen-Mod is not in this collection(Gen-Mod adds sub races).
Must be one of the mods I added.

@Timesplitter - Any reason you chose not to use Gen-Mod, i.e. unstable, not compatible, etc?

I am getting an issue with new races not having combat animations, and running with their hands to their side strangely. And sometimes hitting enemies without moving.
I saw some posts about it on mod pages in the collection.
Gen-Mod has a compatibility mod for fight animations, but I still have the issue.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Will moving some mods order fix this?

The mod Military Craft mentions how to add animations to new races, but I couldn't figure it out properly with the instructions given.

I seem to crash all of the time in the Fog Islands. Is this a known issue for this collection? If so, is there a solution? I had no crash related issues prior to subscribing.

thats not all of the story just got done finding out it is not a glitch its a feature of interactive world. it gives you a survival tab, you farm wood, then make a chopping block and make to sticks, then sticks to make a saw horse, then logs to sawhorse gets u lumber. then take 4 lumber and craft the survival tabs research box. research tech level 1 in core to unlock all the basic blueprints u normally get with vanilla.

Xuroi, the mod authors have not modified opium to stack, my guess is for specific reasons. I myself have not found a mod that allows opium to stack yet sadly. It might be a lore related issue.

Udr, sorry for not responding sooner. I did encounter the same issue when I first started running this game on a new save. One method that works if Interactive World causes the problem. Download Kenshi, subscribe all mods, then verify integrity of cache. If you encounter any other problems or have any suggestions, feel free to post here.

after checking checking every mod, it was interactive world that was causing the lack tech bench and other catagorys.

no matter how many times i reinstall, verify cache, tried setting to the mod order, tried different mod orders, always 100% of the time refuses to learn the starter bps like tech bench etc.

Hi I'm loving the collection but have a small question, for some reason opium doesnt stack while hashish does and I would like to know if there is a way to make it stack to 5 like with hashish either by tweaking the load order or if I would need to contact either the author of better vanilla item stacking or farming crops enhanced. Saber, I took the time for each mod individually to read the Comments Section, and search possible conflicts of certain mods with other mods using Google Search Engine in order to pinpoint out the mods that create clutter, conflict, or can completely harm your gameplay. I always removed any mods that can damage Lore, or travel locations, vendors, etc. Avoid Any And All Mods That Do So. One of the first methods I used to assure the mods do not impact the game world too much, was by checking balance between group encounters of the Major Factions and common Minor Factions, then finding mods that can help Stimulate or Strengthen some of the weaker Major Factions that are not as popular. Ofcourse, I had to test this with Import at different values of Spawn Points, Frequency, Random Army Size, etc. If you start from the last page of Comments Section and read my Comments, you will find some very useful information I posted on how I tried to organize this Collection.

since there are so many impactful mods for Kenshi that could have possible conflicts or even unintentional oversights and bugs I would love to hear about some of your choices for which mods to leave out and what degree of conflicts/inconsistencies you accept in this mod collection

why did you choose to go with Purchasable AI Cores over Artifact Traders: AI Cores, Ancient Books?

and why not use Minor Factions Amplified when we are using the Hive, Shek, HN, and UC expansions by the same author?

Morrenz, this Mod Collection can be quite hardware intensive. If you're using a computer with little RAM, then you should play the game with low graphics and low view distance. I have been meaning to make an Optional section with mods that increase performance and FPS.

Also went ahead and reinstalled the game deleting everything but the savefiles and mods in the process. No luck there unfortunately. It'd me nice if things were simple.

I tried running about 10 minutes at 3x speed south down the coast line and then heading directly east with the same result. Whatever is in that area is making me crash for whatever reason.

Alright, I played for a few hours and here's what I got. In blue is where I travelled during the playtime of 3~ hours. Basically ran around there mostly luring bots out of the vault to the village so I could get the stuff inside.

Black is where I headed towards, and between where the black line starts and where the X is, I crash repeatedly. Image and Save file coming up buddo. Mod list is in the order you specified. Maybe it's just me, but this is a decent way to find out if you're willing to give it a whirl.

I meant to type hiver expansion. In either case it's not that causing me to crash either way. Looking through the Crash log I don't know what's causing it.

Last lines before crash are these

Morrenz, "Hives Expanded" is not included in this Collection. Also, Hiver areas are usually highly populated with large mobs of powerful creatures that can create lag in those areas.

I don't know what I've done, but I crash any time I go near any form of hive. Whether they were there originally or not. I'm guessing hivers expanded has something to do with it, but I'm not sure. It does it if I head towards mongrel as well.

I'm having an issue with some buildings being placed on top of existing buildings mainly in squin where the general store is plopped right on top of the weapons store that is already there. Not sure which mod is making the mess.

Sepsis613, the bug you encountered is one of the original Kenshi bugs. Once the game is installed, verify integrity of game cache, and then make sure your mod load order is correct. You will have to create a new character. Import will not work for this bug.

Im getting a "some mods are missing or in the incorrect loading order" even after i pasted the list in the mod cfg. is that normal?
