yeah that's the disadvantage of driving on the outside of a tube, you can't see the entire "road surface"

Not a bad idea, but you hazards aren't communicated far enough in advance. You pretty much have to brute force your way through the track to know where not to drive, and you have to pray the animated hazards don't screw you over.
