@Mosquito's bytes inspired me to replay this puzzle today. Still as good as the first time I played which, seeing my previous comment, was 6 years ago today. Cheers!

I think I may have broken your map!
Libbybapa 25 Aug, 2024 @ 5:58pm
A friend added this as a favorite today, so I replayed it. I hadn't looked at it since it came out 5 years ago. It seemed really obvious to me on replay that using only simple logical legitimate moves, there is no need to use the area behind the laserfield. I looked through the comments and didn't see where anyone else mentioned this particular solution. You probably don't care at this point as the map is old, but in case you do, this is the simple, logical solution that bypasses that area: https://youtu.be/CLiv0ZQpYz8

I managed to spare the turret, it is always a fun challenge to do. This one was especially fun since I needed to use my portals to move. Pretty fun!

Dang, why are so many people (myself included) not seeing the final move! So simple, but I wanted there to be extra steps. Really fun management puzzle!
G4lvatron 13 Feb, 2023 @ 5:12pm
You can cheese the level with an angled laser through the portal surface at the exit . I did go back and find the intended solution as I always do. Another satisfying puzzle when done right.

Very nice solution. Love the aesthetics and warm temperature lighting.

Great map, tricky but fun

Excellent. Thanks for creating.

Great puzzle, thank you very much! As it took me a while to solve, I'd like to believe that it is more difficult than "medium" ;)

Enjoyed it. Thank you :steamhappy:

Nice puzzle, but I found the front facing translucent grid to be a bit of a red herring, since I was under the impression that I would have to go into it, reverse my cube's direction, place the laser into the room, all with time to jump back onto the platform to go to the starting area(this would maybe be valid in coop), since it seemed to serve no purpose but allowing you to see the laser receiver on the other side(which you would have seen when entering the laser-sectioned area on the light bridge).

Regardless, nice puzzle.

Is it on the inside or the outside of Greg's eyelid?

This is a great puzzle! I especially like how it seems intimidating and tough to beat but every step lead me to the next and I solved it with no problems. And also jumping over the laser was fun.
Petutski 19 Apr, 2020 @ 3:00pm
Took me a while as I overthought the final move to open the exit. Great work, thanks!

Amazing as always, I have a question about the color, how do you get that greenish shade? is that with hammer?
vallibus 19 Sep, 2019 @ 12:52pm
Wow! Another great challenge from your workshop.
zigzagtenniscoe 13 Sep, 2019 @ 10:37pm
That was before I found out the solution, as always, was far simpler than I was making it out to be; all I had to do was portal to the laserfield area, switch the cube around, go to the end room again, portal to the laser area, grab the laser and point it at the cube now aimed at the exit door catcher. I suppose my problem was that I figured I needed the laser to directly be in sight so I thought I'd needed to go back to the starting area, which wasn't the case.

Fun as always. Even with your less difficult maps (I'd say medium, or medium-hard even would be a good rating for this puzzle) there's always ways to spice it up so the player has to be somewhat clever. Keep it up.
zigzagtenniscoe 13 Sep, 2019 @ 10:36pm
For the second one, for a few minutes I completely missed the fact that I had easy access to the laser and had no idea the other catcher controlled the scaffold, which could also be used to grab the bridge in the portal and therefore have that setup previously mentioned where in the starting area you had your cube and the bridge so you could cross over to that area.

Totally overthought the part where you were over in the end room and somehow had to switch the cube around. I was thinking I'd have to do something crazy with the scaffold and even getting back to the laser area on foot, going back and forth. Felt like I would have needed the three portal device at the bottom of Wheatley's pit otherwise, lol!
zigzagtenniscoe 13 Sep, 2019 @ 10:36pm
Great puzzle as always. Aesthetics are on point (or, as much as they could be with BEEMOD anyway).

Some parts did take me a while to figure out though (which is completely fine lol). Specifically, getting in a position where I could use the bridge to cross back to the starting area and how to use the bridge to get across to the area behind the laserfields (requiring both the cube and the bridge in that area). Definitely overthought the latter, clever solution for the first with crossing the laser and the cube for that specific part, and also going around and using the lower level bridge initially used to get the cube in the first place to get around that. Good thinking putting the bridge up high, so you couldn't just walk over there, and making sure no portal surfaces would allow access to that as well.

Found this way of bypassing the laser grid area: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1847603291

Thought this was gonna be the intended solution until I noticed the cube would have to be on the edge for this to work. Seems to me that pushing the catcher further into the wall would fix all the exploits. Was a fine puzzle otherwise though.

@demon thats big one

@BehindPortal Oof that's a pretty big exploit, I'll do my best to fix it!

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone, glad you all enjoyed it!

I had to refer to a walk through to figure out how to get back to the starting platform with the cube but once I did it I realised how close I was already, just missing one little tiny detail that was tripping me up. Those are my favourite kinds of levels - really difficult in parts but once you finally get it there's huge satisfaction. Worked out the rest of the level on my own, being very careful to fire the correct coloured portals!

Thanks for creating, I really enjoyed this.
volodi-mir 1 Aug, 2019 @ 11:07am
Amazing puzzle! Pretty tough, took me some time to crack the point and get back to starting platform but I didn't give up and enjoyed this chamber a lot! Thanks, great job!

Level-brainsucker. As always, everything is logical and puzzling. You asked for appearances. White panels in direct light seem very bright.

This puzzle was perfect for me. Took long enough to solve to make it a challenge, yet not so difficult that it was too frustrating to be much fun. Great work as always, thanks.

@themodoc73 Thanks for the feedback! The antline was tricky to work out, and unfortunately it's as clear as I can make it :( Only other option is to have the antline travel through the goo, which I'd rather not do. Glad you enjoyed the map regardless!
Modoc73 30 May, 2019 @ 11:04pm
Sweet map. Nice straight forward logic. For some reason, it took me AGES to see that lazer connected to moving platform first time maybe you could add some signage or make antline a bit more clear? But thanks!

Awesome logic all the way through ... even till the very end. It was fun, took some thought, and congratulations on over 400 followers. We appreciate your hard work:)

Wow. Had to come back to this a second time. Hurt my brain but I got it.

@Reika I still think the BEE stylechanger is ugly (overgrown, Old Aperture, etc) but BEE visuals can be pleasant if done correctly and subtly.
KAKTUS ‡SvK‡ 14 May, 2019 @ 9:18am
very, very good :cozyspaceengineersc:

Very good puzzles and much fun to play, thank you! I also appreciate the clean design, it helps to keep the focus on the puzzle parts.

Well that was not so very easy... Another great challenge. 400 - wow. I will continue to follow for more. Thanks for creating.
No problem with the aesthetics - just needed to move the portals up or down for the lasers sometimes - some angles were tight but not too much..
