So what exactly IS drift mining?
Rob Stark 7 Aug, 2024 @ 5:50pm
Started with the Sveinn and graduated to this. Really enjoy this ship, it's my go to. I do run into the power spikes mentioned a few years ago in some comments. I am just reminding myself to charge more often. Thanks for this (and the several others I am taking as well!)
TrinitySyx 5 Oct, 2023 @ 7:52pm
Hey Taidyr. Great Job with the design. Do you have a large grid version of this?
TekLest 17 Aug, 2021 @ 8:41am
@Taidyr what is the offset for the drills when using PAM?
Great mod never use any other miner
Torflurch 20 Jan, 2021 @ 6:25am
Thank you very much for the positive feedback and the concession :)
Taidyr  [author] 20 Jan, 2021 @ 6:01am
Hi @Torflurch.
Nah, that's totally fine with me. Nice Mining Barge btw! Thanks for sharing it.
Torflurch 20 Jan, 2021 @ 4:17am
Hi :)
I really like your ship designs!
After creating a mining hauler with a small hangar to fit a mining vessel
I suggested two of your creations to use with.
Hopefully this is okay for you, if not please contact me and I will remove them from the description.
Saultye 23 Oct, 2020 @ 4:51am
Oh wow, ok thank you Taidyr. Simple but annoying fix. Love your ships btw, the liftmaster has been a huge boon to my moon station.
Taidyr  [author] 23 Oct, 2020 @ 12:49am
Hey @Saul,
That's not just an issue with the Miner, but with SE in general. If you have multiple ships with identical group names docked to the same grid (like your station or carrier), Interacting with the group of one vessel will also affect the other one as well. The only way to get around this is to redo the groups of one ship entirely with different names - or prefix, which is what I usually do.
Saultye 22 Oct, 2020 @ 8:15pm
I've run into a weird issue. I have two of these miners and every time I turn something off on one ship, the same item gets turned on with the other when both ships are connected to the same grid (station or ship). When not connected to the same grid they are fine (I believe), it's only happened when connected to the same grid. To be clear, if Miner A and B are connected to the same grid (station or ship) and I turn the ion engines off on Miner A, the ion engines turn on with Miner B and vice versa.

Do you or anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
Taidyr  [author] 20 Jul, 2020 @ 3:07am
@TheWendigo_Alpha: PAM hasn't been updated for a while now and I have not used this vessel since the SOTF Update was released. I'll have a look at it but if it's a problem with the script, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about it.
TheWendigo_Alpha 18 Jul, 2020 @ 5:45pm
yeah the auto home system on pam just wont work its constantly unaligned by like multiple blocks and i dont know y
madsbow 18 May, 2020 @ 8:07am
My favourite mining ship so far
Laffyistired 12 Apr, 2020 @ 11:33am
@Taidyr can ore travel from cargo 4 and 5 to 1 2 3 cargo having a hard time moving them ... did you use small converts
Taidyr  [author] 11 Apr, 2020 @ 10:44am
@Master Obelawe: The ship is fully connected to move ore from and to any drill, container and connector. Please check if your build is incomplete or if you have any mods installed that interfere with the conveyor-system. Also remember that not all item in the game fit through small conveyors. This is a miner and therefore only set up to deal with ore. If you use it for other tasks you might run into issues.
Laffyistired 11 Apr, 2020 @ 6:13am
@Taidyr hello
Laffyistired 6 Apr, 2020 @ 12:45pm
@Taidyr just fast update the right-side connector works to unload

but can't access medium containers from in ship they don't fill with ore but can move an item from rear connector did you make it like this
Laffyistired 6 Apr, 2020 @ 2:05am
@Taidyr add up please also docking with rear connector I can not remove any ore from cargo says not connected but it is lol please add up

Taidyr love your ships they are grouse

Meaning of grouse excellent; "awesome". Australian slang.
Red_EyedWolf 2 Apr, 2020 @ 8:48am
I was checking this out, and i noticed, you dont say anything about toolbar 4, what some stuff do, most i got, but 8th was it, the second reactor button, i still dont know what it is supposed to do
TidyGirlz 15 Mar, 2020 @ 4:26pm
would be nice if you could make one of these that a dual atmos and space in one?
Taidyr  [author] 3 Jan, 2020 @ 11:29am
@Airomis: The scripts were simply outdated and needed to be updated to the current version. I did this just now, but expect this to happen after every bigger update. So I recommend subscribing to the scripts yourself, so you can update them right away and don't have your ship to become useless.
@Di-Ferr: Thank you! Happy to see the ship serves you well. I've preset the drill to overlap while I was updating the scripts anyway.
Airomis 3 Jan, 2020 @ 7:34am
for me it looks like the pam program is not working it says its missing stuff even when pasted in
Di-Ferr 3 Jan, 2020 @ 1:58am
Just wanted to stop by again and say thanks! This is my main miner and the first one I build once a survival base is set up. I don't know how it could be improved honestly besides adding the overlap settings. Takes 30 seconds to configure them though so not an issue ;D I would love to see more industrial ships in this style.
Taidyr  [author] 17 Oct, 2019 @ 8:55am
@Delta70: Ich checked the vessels and both work fine. Powerlevels should not spike beyond 98%. It sounds like you simply ran out of power. Please make sure batteries are loaded and not stuck in Recharge mode when undocking. Put Uranium into the reactors to reduce stress on the batteries and allow them to recharge without a base if neccessary. Also ensure that you're not having any mods installed that might interfere with power-management.
Delta70 16 Oct, 2019 @ 2:42pm
This ship and the atmospheric version seem to have an issue with the power usage jumping up to and staying at 100%.
Taidyr  [author] 10 Sep, 2019 @ 2:20pm
@bodyboarder2528: I've updated the changelog. Sry I forgot that.
I've updated the scripts, made some changes to the LCD-Panels and tweaked the lights a bit.
Bodyboarder2528 10 Sep, 2019 @ 3:36am
what did you update please?
GromGrok Dagoor 3 Jul, 2019 @ 3:59am
love this ship very nicely done thank you :0 much apperciate it
IndigoSolution 14 Jun, 2019 @ 10:53am
This is nicely decorated and easy to handle. My only complaint would be that if you're using PAM to mine out wide swatches of area, you need to configure PAM with a little overlap because the drills on both this and the S (surface) version miss a bit on the corners of the drilling face.

Otherwise, it's a great medium-sized drill rig!
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 10:17pm
@Egg: The Airvents are mostly decorative, but they'll suck in Air into your Cockpit if you park the ship in a ventilated hangar.
Bodyboarder2528 31 May, 2019 @ 5:53pm
its ok @Taidyr
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 12:51pm
So i got everything to work and know now how to use the scripts thanks again. for what are the airvents ?
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 12:25pm
Thanks !!!
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 11:47am
@Egg: All used scripts are linked in the Description (Credits). Just subscribe to them, find your programmable block in the ship-menu, edit, browse scripts, load the desired script, hit compile and you're good to go.
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 11:35am
im sry but i have an other question, how can i run the updated script and where do i get it ?
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 11:26am
yeah sometimes i do like that, but as old space farmer im not used to use internet and blueprints for building my ships ;P
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 11:09am
@Egg: No problem.
When I find a ship on the workshop that I did like to use in a survival-game, I usually paste it into a creative world first and familiarize myself with the controls and its features, before recreating it in survival. This way I know about most things before and won't have to figure out everything by myself and eventually run into a costly accident because I missed something important. Maybe this helps.

Fly safe o/
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 11:04am
Thank you alot for your time and help =) i will read the description =). Yeah it as like i was allready knowing this could be an Space engineers problem as we know it ;) thanks anyway i will do the rearangement =)
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 10:58am
@Egg: Yes, Experimental Mode is required to run scripts. The ship will work fine without them, but you won't be able to use the Automining-Feature or the dynamic LCDs. You can turn Experimental Mode on/off in your World Settings.

As for your question: Unfortunately it is quite common to find a messed up toolbar or placeholder-blocks when building ships by hand. I don't any way to prevent this. However, afaik most players tend to rearrange their toolbars anyway, so it's usually not a big deal. You can set up the Toolbar as shown in the discription or to your liking.

If you have never used the PAM-Script (which is not my mod btw) before, I suggest you read the guide (See Troubleshooting in my description) carefully before you proceed. The Guide will tell you how to navigate through the pannel as well.
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 10:48am
Im playing on a survival Wolrd so im building it with an separate projector, do you recomend me also to enable Experimental mode ? where is this option ?
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 10:43am
@Egg: Did you paste it into your world or have you build it by hand?
Egg 31 May, 2019 @ 10:39am
Hi i love your Mod but :) in my toolbar i only see empty icons. only first toolbar seems to be okey, but also there are placeholder icons for some groups. did i miss something about the game mechanics ? or do i nee to use a special Buildorder ? pls help me =)

And alos i wanted to ask how i can navigate on the LCD Panels sitting in the cockpit. And how i use the Programms :)
Taidyr  [author] 31 May, 2019 @ 9:57am
@Di-Ferr: This is a problem that tends to appear with all ships that don't come with rectangular oriented drills. As bodyboarder2528 already stated (thx dude), the latest version of PAM now has an option to prevent this issue. Unfortunately there is no other way to fix this.
Bodyboarder2528 30 May, 2019 @ 12:50am
The PAM script has fixed that issue just need to load the updated script and use the overlap settings
Di-Ferr 30 May, 2019 @ 12:10am
Love this miner, great work! Mining with PAM results in skinny ore columns being left in between every shaft. Is there a workaround for this?
sgtklink 28 May, 2019 @ 4:59pm
Ya I saw it when I got in it, haven't used it in a while so didn't remember if it was there or not. Great work.
Taidyr  [author] 28 May, 2019 @ 2:34pm
@sgtklink: Thanks! The left LCD-Screen is preset for PAM. You don't have to set it up yourself. There are some screens in the cockpit with placeholder texts which can be used for PAM as well (See the Guide to learn how to do this). But unfortunately this won't work in multiplayer.
sgtklink 28 May, 2019 @ 2:09pm
Great miner I love it, definitely one of my favorites. Is there a specific LCD screen set up for PAM already, or do I need to set one?
Firedrake_13 24 May, 2019 @ 5:48am
Very compact and efficient design..Thanks for the great work..:)
zsadnok 19 May, 2019 @ 12:20am
Szuper gép. Megkönnyíti a dolgom. Grat!
