Avro - I see Steam removed the external link but with a bit of searching I've found the picture.

Thank you JK, babylon218, Oldhip and Smexykins - between Killakanz's originals and these have we covered all the major liveries and BR regions for the Mk1s now?
JK 15 May, 2019 @ 10:46am
The new Western Region ones look great. The colours look right too me.
babylon218 15 May, 2019 @ 5:30am
Looking fantastic!

Smexykins 13 May, 2019 @ 6:47pm
These are lovely in-game, excited to hear about another set!

Progress so far on BR Western Region brown and cream coaches:

I know it's not a Western engine, but at least it's green!

Thanks JK - praise indeed from someone of your talent and reputation within the TPF modding community.

Those links are very helpful, thank you. I'm learning far more about just this period of BR livery design than I thought possible!
HexAyed 13 May, 2019 @ 10:12am
Very Nice.

The new liveries look great. Mk1's in BR Western region livery would be nice, if it's something you'd like to make. Looks like it was used 1956-1962(+):

I don't recall anyone ever commenting on about my coach (or engine) livery colours, although they do vary a bit. I think as long as you get it close to right, people are just glad to have them. You're right I did two versions of my Collett coach in SR liveries, but they were only ever intended as generic stand-ins until something more realistic was available.

Thank you for the clarification and additional info - much appreciated; I know the liveries in general but not the details. I'll make a start but it will take time as I need to run them by Killakanz before release as it's his mod I'm supplementing.

From what I've read, I should be looking for BR Western Region colours rather than pre-1948 GWR itself, likewise with the Southern. If this is incorrect, please let me know.

Colour will be based on a selection of web-based sources and tried out in-game. This will be subjective, based on my choice and what video cards people are running.
power man 13 May, 2019 @ 9:07am
anyway fantastic coaches
power man 13 May, 2019 @ 9:06am
keep calm, deep breath and you'll do fine quince

just do what you think is right
PlaneSimple 13 May, 2019 @ 8:57am
babylon218 you are entirely correct, that's what I meant. The Swanage railway and Gloucester-Warwickshire steam railway both use MK1s in their respective regional colours.
babylon218 13 May, 2019 @ 8:54am
What I think Avro means is after the adjustment to the British Railways regions in 1958 both Western Region (WR) and Southern Region (SR) adopted coach liveries which resembled those of the GWR and Southern respectively. WR adopted chocolate and cream (I believe identical to the experimental livery) for express passenger trains and SR adopted a version of malachite green for (I think) all passenger trains.

I know first hand people requesting stuff is annoying but I am going to do it anyway.

That black, red and white Intercity MK1 livery that was ubiquitous and yet nowhere.
Quince99  [author] 13 May, 2019 @ 8:41am
Glad people are enjoying the additional liveries. The LMS streamliners are definitely my preference over the A4s - sorry LNER fans - as they look so much more Art Deco with the stripes. It will need someone with 3D modelling skills to create the rear coach that was used on the American tour with its rear lining that mirrors that on the front of the locomotive.

Are there not GWR and SR coaches on here? Didn't JK have a set of coaches in various grouping-era liveries?

Anyway, I can do SR green - olive, malachite or both? And heaven help me with the GWR crowd in getting the colours right!
PlaneSimple 13 May, 2019 @ 5:55am
Nice work. Can we get the Southern green and Chocolate and Cream too? Would love to run them on my Southern / Great Western services. Thanks
Steve Emfore 13 May, 2019 @ 1:58am
Looks really good my man. Love the experimental livery.
trev.arnolduk 13 May, 2019 @ 12:11am
Thank you for these. The Coronation is one of my all time favourite locos so to have the matching coaches is a bonus.
Not_A_KGB_Agent 12 May, 2019 @ 7:44pm
looks good:steamhappy:
Quince99  [author] 12 May, 2019 @ 3:09pm
There's a restaurant called Plum and Spilt Milk at the Great Northern Hotel next to St Pancras Station in London. It's named after the same livery!
DevonHalstonDreadle 12 May, 2019 @ 3:03pm
I was wondering what the hell was a BR Plum and Split Milk livery was, but hey, you learn something interesting everyday. But anyways, can't wait to see more reskins in the near future :cozyspaceengineersc:
