Thank you!
I'm sure when they beat Andy Ngo to the point that he went to the hospital, they meant well. Or when they assault people with milkshakes. Or when they bash in skulls with bike locks. Or splitting skulls. They love that. What about when they surround old people with walkers and prevent them from moving while hurling abuse on them? I'd argue they are even more violent in Europe.
Rhonin, I was not trying to discount your experience against ISIL. I am very sorry that you had to encounter such trauma and I hope that your family is okay.
My point is that the USA has domestic terror networks as well, though they are not physically an existensial threat like ISIL. If we don't destroy Antifa in America soon, though, they'll become the next Weather Underground.
Terrorism is defined as the use of violence or threat thereof in order to accomplish a political goal or sway a government or group to change it's ways.
The fact that Antifa is, thankfully, not as brutal as ISIL does not make them cease to be a terror network. The Council of American Islamic Relations is a terror network because it is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood. CAIR is specifically nonviolent, but it's propaganda furthers MB ideals.
consider the following example "the working middle class" "voters in the heartland of America" "college educated suburban women" "the majority" the GOP catering towards its majority white base, Democrats catering towards its majority white base-- not considered identity politics
"minorities" "black voters" "affirmative action" "sanctuary cities" "racism" "white flight" "police brutality" Democrats catering towards its substantial minority base-- considered identify politics
It's fine to use certain terms, but just be aware of the connotations and what those words means outside of conservative circles.
of course there are some on the extreme end, but that's the case for every single group ever. You can't use the extreme outliers to stereotype an entire group. It's comparable to calling people "sissies", then saying "I'm not talking about all gay people, just those that are effeminate"
Social workers save the lives of children, maintain foster systems, and man other critical services the government actually has a reason to meddle in. I would like to reiterate that: we seemed to miscommunicate. I do not equate social workers, who provide critical and life giving services, with social justice.
I apologize for the confusion. I was unaware that this was supposed to be trauma counseling and DFACS.
These are the first sentences in our preamble. And although the term "SJW" doesn't refer or equate specifically to social workers, all social workers would be considered "SJW" by those that use the term. And most people referred to as "SJW"s certainly ascribe to and fight for the same values as the social work profession. Serious question though, which one of those values/missions would anybody say they were against?
Antifa does not equal all "whiney protesters" and "SJW"s. Although "Social Justice Warrior" is just a made up derogatory term used to insult people that protest and stand up for equal rights and treatment...a person really has to be a racist, misogynist, homophobic, classist, etc or just ignorant as hell to proudly speak out and say they are against the concept of "social justice"
I'm a licensed clinical social worker, and social justice is our first core value. So i would indeed question the sanity of anyone that made fun of someone of people that stand up for it
Oh yes, because Antifa cares about the dignity of men. I'm sure that terrorizing ideological opponents into withdrawing from campus events, cracking skulls open with bike locks and crowbars, surrounding crippled old ladies to scream at them, and interrupting opposition meetings and events totally care about human dignity.
Give me a break.
Now I can send my whiny protesters and SJW fools to a place where they can observe "cry-ins" and man up!
