well done for making something for your brother... (next time he pinches some food from your plate, you can remind them of this nice mod you made especially for them) :)

ok man thanks for explanation. i already know about the notepad++ but anyway its good to see this mod in game =)

However, any increase in materials costs will not be enough to turn this into a wealth dump - which would be its own kind of unbalanced. This is intended to literally spit out the exact same items which already exist in game, so I also won't be doing something like changing the market value of these parts to compensate for something like that. I'm certainly open to adjustments, but not so far as to make this a wealth dump.

But as @Alkpaz says, it's actually pretty easy to go in and just change some values around in this mod for your own use if you want something really crazy expensive :)

@Trerri: This is not Genetic Rim. I was merely explaining the difference in the functionality of the mods to someone who asked.

@Limão: Thank you for the feedback :) I basically just made this mod for my brother (I myself had never even installed a mod before making this, though I have a handful now) and decided to publish it in case anyone else was looking for similar. I'm certainly open to adjusting the recipes at some point, but this is just a first pass at a functionality my brother spent some time looking for and could not find - a way to make Archotech prosthetics using purely vanilla materials, tech, and workstations.

I did try not to make it TOO close to Bionics in terms of cost and difficulty to make, but I'm just some dink who learned how to make mods to make one for her brother ;) It may indeed be a bit on the cheap and unbalanced side. Might take a look at it later if "too easy" is the consensus.

@Limao you could edit the *.xml file itself to add more ingredients if that is what you are after. Just open it in Notepad++ under: steam/steamapps/workshop/content/294100/1740991655/patches/MakeMeAnArchotech.xml

thanks monktk for the info
i forgot about that - i remember now. (thats what 400 mods does lol) :)

so far i only have a few bionic parts (in storage) and some magnetic fingers (for the transhumanists), so not sure about balance as havent tech-ed up yet, though maybe if it is the ultimate endgame tech, 3 times as much cost might work?

dude i really think this mod shold have more dificulty to make any archo part. archo parts is beyond of space tecnology and i believe this "ingredients" is to easy make a crack in the game. Make or more "ingredients" to make a part for a exemple: an archo leg 20 advance component 150 plasteel 100 gold some silver and 150 uranium. in my opinion this make a really dificulty for a end-game item

I don't get how you would harness an archotech at all, since they are stated to be infinitely superior to humans in the Rimworld bible "in the way a human would be godlike to an ant". This mod basically makes ants enslave people from a story perspective.

@pgames-food, this is a small standalone mod which simply allows crafting of the highest tier of prosthetic body parts which already exist in the base game, but are normally not craftable, instead obtained through quest rewards or trading. :) These are simply Archotech-tier technology, and named such in the game.

Genetic Rim's usage of the term refers to Archotechs themselves, the incomprehensibly advanced AI from the Rimworld's own background lore which create archotech-level technology, such as the archotech level prosthetic parts. Genetic Rim is about harnessing such an AI as one of the many extra creature types that mod adds, as a win condition within that mod.

This mod simply lets you craft existing, high-tier prosthetics.

If Genetic Rim does not allow for crafting of these parts, then there should be no conflict. If it does, I do not recommend installing this mod with it.

hi the mod sounds interesting but can i check if this is for making the archotech from genetic rim, or something else? (and sorry what is an archotech)? :)
Alkpaz 14 May, 2019 @ 8:41am
Thanks for the mod! Now, I can finally switch from Bio to Archo! :D
